After a long afternoon and a little drinking at BuckleDown, my friends and I decided to get some food at Slagers. It’s the only place we could find on Unilocal that had some kind of bar food around the area, and since we were all«starving» we decided to check it out. There are only about 9 items on the menu, and we decided to order about 8. Haha It’s all bar food and between 6 hungry adults, we devoured everything on our table. My favorite and most memorable item on the menu were the corn fritters. The best way to describe it is smashed up corn, battered and fried up. SOGOOD! We each had 2 beers each, their selection wasn’t that great but they had Blue Moon and Anti-Hero, which we stuck to. It’s a dive bar, small, cozy and I’m sure that’s where all the locals hang out. They have quite a few TV’s and there is some betting machines in there too. By the time we left, around 9pm, our bill came out to around $ 60 including tip. WOW! Now that’s what I’m talking about! Cheap drinks and good food.

Great local joint. Clean, not expensive, and good bar food.

Friendly staff. Thankfully, they had a movie on the TV instead of sports. I get so sick of nothing but sports on TVs when you go out. Friendly staff. They are in the process of remodeling. Looks nice. Regulars were welcoming.

Nothing much here. Just a small bar that is really small. There are a few bars on this strip of ara in brookfield and Lyons. This is by far got to be the smallest. maybe they have good lunches during the day for all the industrial workers near by.

This is the old Doogie’s. It’s under new management. Nothing’s really changed except they bartenders are pretty outgoing, and they know their Horse Racing Cinema trivia. For the love of me I couldn’t think of the words«sea» and«biscuit». A fair number of flatscreen’s in this place, especially for this size of it. The jukebox has Meatloaf on it, thank god. That was pretty much the only thing that kept us anchored at Joe’s. Any other insight on this bar can be found on the«previous» review, here: We ducked out of Joe’s(as they’re not really sports-centric) and were pleasently suprised to see a legit crowd at Slager’s for the Bulls Playoff game earlier this summer. Also, my –21 bro got in no ‘probs. Admittedly, I’m just doing this to get another«first review» thingy. Shameless, I know.
