Delicious food, but service was kind of a crap shoot. In all fairness, it was a Friday night. We had the meatball starter, I had carbonara pasta with pancetta(amazing) and my boyfriend had cheese ravioli. We shared a chocolate chip gelato for dessert. Loved the indoor/outdoor effect of the garage doors, and the plants and lighting gave such a cozy effect. This place is tight, you are absolutely on top of one another — but it’s worth it for the food. We were catching up with friends and didn’t mind the very slow service, but it took forever to put our order in, get the bill, pay, etc. I recommend you go, but don’t go in a hurry!

Great local italian. The spaghetti bolognese is excellent. The pizza is excellent too. And so is the homemade bread.

We’ve been coming here for years and have always enjoyed it. Probably a 4 – 5 star experience for food and service. We’ve gone 3 more times since January of this year and the service and wait time for food has been horrendous. We really hope they straighten this out. They seem to be in over their heads in the kitchen prepping takeout and cooking for the house.

The BEST gelato ever! Hands down, my favorite gelato flavor is the Nutella and it tastes exactly like Nutella. It is to die for! They also have other flavors of gelato.

I like this place, even though it’s a bit Schizophrenic. Is it a high-quality Italian restaurant or a pizzeria where you can walk in for a slice? Yes, it’s both. And that’s where it gets weird. Say you’re in the Bronxville area and you want to go out and have a delicious Italian meal that you won’t find in your typical red sauce place. Where do you go? Il Bacio. But first, you have to wait for a table(because it’s always packed) in the pizzeria part of the restaurant and hover over people who are eating their slices or picking up a pie to go. It’s not what you’d expect from a place that serves such great Italian food. Now, about the food. There really isn’t much to say. Everything I’ve had is at least a solid B, if not A. It’s a good choice for a weeknight Italian meal. Also, if you go before 9pm, bring quarters for street parking.

This pizza place is pretty good I come here a lot when I go out to lunch. The pizza is pretty good it is nice and hot and ready for the big crowd of us school kids and the $ 3 pizza and drink deal is great. The service is pretty good however at lunch time things do get a bit rowdy. The high schoolers push middle schoolers out of the way and the staff does nothing to stop it. I understand that the staffs job is to serve pizza or tame kids, but it is very annoying when you’re trying to get som lunch and the older kids shove you out of line so they can get lunch. However they are fine during non school lunch times however the food can be a bit oily at times making it unpleasant to eat. I definitely suggest the noké or the ravioli. This is a good place for a quick bite.

Good tomato sauce and meatballs appetizer. Nice menu with dinner specials and a large variety of Italian classics and pizza. Bustling and informal dining room, kid-friendly. Tasty fettucine alla carbonara. Great gelato selection.

This is old school pizzeria. Visited on few occasions. The pizza is very ordinary. Food is bland and boring. Other than that place looks very nice and clean. They are child friendly and have few nice sidewalk tables. Service: they added 20% tip to our group. I usually tip a minimum of 20% for decent service, 25% for excellent service or even more… but if you are giving me crappy service, please don’t expect that much.

Let me start this off by saying I’m not entirely sold on really any location in Bronxville. I’ve always found the service suffers in the face of slight snootiness from customer service staff. With that being said, Il Bacio is alright. That’s right, it’s just alright. There is nothing on the actual menu that will make you go home and rave about it, but the food is consistently edible and descent. There isn’t a ton of deviation in what you’ll get each time you walk in, and there is nothing wrong with that. Fresh and exciting though, it isn’t. Serving sizes are average, not plentiful but not stingy either. The pizza, as I recall was alright, too. I haven’t had a slice in well over a year, but it just wasn’t overly memorable, even back then. What is pretty amazing is the gelato. Really delicious stuff. It’s made on site(as I understand it) and it is a perfect, creamy treat. You can find your basic flavors here and a few very interesting offerings, too. The ambiance is nice, if not a bit loud on a crowded Saturday. The staff is above average for Bronxville, but not above average in general. Overall, it’s edible, it’s consistent and it is there. You could do better when it comes to Italian if you head into Yonkers, but you could do a whole lot worse, too.

I love this place! for a romantic dinner to a date to a slice of pizza. This place is what you make out of it. I would not drive an hour to go but if you are around the towns, go great food, drinks and staff

Pappardelle limone with shrimp was flavorful and somehow both light and filling. Service was naturally friendly, attentive and timely. Nice wine. All priced right.

The food is SOOOOOOO good, so good. The service, the restaurant itself… eh. I don’t appreciate flies buzzing around me as I’m eating, no matter how amazing the veal piccatta is. Also, the wine is awful. I mean, I tried three different whites and opted to drink no wine at all, awful. Come on guys, you could do better. Fire the manager and the sommelier, and give the chef a raise!

Il Bacio is a very High-end Pizzeria/Restaurant. Don’t get me wrong… because I like Il Bacio. Although they have awesome pizza, their entrees are just as good. Although il Bacio is not a white-table cloth restaurant, food is tasty indeed. Il Bacio has their own gelatos and their flavors are unique. Overall, good was great!

I love the food but loved it more in the past than i do now. The shaved parm on the caesars used to be the crystally kind but now i think it comes out of a bag. Penne vodka is great as always. Sliced pizza was kind of old and the cashier went right from a handful of cash to tossing my slice into the oven. For 4.50 I expect a little more care to be taken with those dirty hands. Not too serious but come on.

Atmosphere: This place has the feeling of a local establishment that has been catering to townies over the years. It’s located in downtown Bronxville amongst all the shopping and restaurants in town. I came here for lunch on a Sunday so it was on the quieter side, but overall it seems like it’s a more of a laid back family atmosphere. Food: To start, the bread they bring out before the meal is definitely on the healthier side. This makes the taste suffer a bit, but its good if you’re trying to be healthy. I started out with an order of bruschetta. It was good but I found the tomatoes on the bread to be a little big and plentiful. It kind of took away from the dish a bit, but was still fairly good in taste. I then had the Pappardelle primavera, which is a pasta dish that comes with a mix of vegetables. It was actually really good. The variety of vegetables in the dish was good and the overall preparation of the dish was good as well. Summary: With so many great restaurants in Bronxville, I think this one gets caught in the middle of other strong performers. It’s good, but not great when compared to other restaurants in the area. I can see this being a great place to hold a large dinner party or come on a weekend to enjoy a meal. Otherwise, I’d probably venture to other places in the area. This isn’t to take away from the food, which was good. It just isn’t anything that stands out.

Have been here on two separate occasions, once in the summer of 2014, once last night. Both visits to this restaurant were good, first time, I think I got the ravioloi. The second time, got the regular spaghetti, along with one of the soups. This place is cool cause it doesn’t close till late.

After trawling for parking on Arthur Avenue for over an hour right before Christmas(!!!) without success we were hungry and had an unfulfilled hankering for some Italian cuisine. And more so for some easy parking. When we saw Il Bacio we figured instead of walking by as we usually do we would go in. It is actually quite lovely inside, decorated to resemble an authentic Italian piazza complete with a gelato slinger. It is charming and we were promptly greeted and seated which is a big deal to me. We shared the calamari fritti which was just the rings. I am more of a tentacle fan. In fact I often ask for a plate of just tentacles. Because that’s the way I roll. Unless it is fresh and fritti’d quickly it can get rubbery and taste like a fryer. It was ok just not my fave ever. I ate my share as I hate to think it died for nothing… I ordered a Caesar Salad with dressing on the side. It was huge and filling. I was glad I had the dressing on the side as it was a gelatinous blob probably consisting of over a thousand calories. I dipped my fork into it gingerly and spread the love. A minuscule amount went a long way. But it was, ahem, a Big Salad-So much so that the pizza I ordered, I took one bite, it was a Margherita, and took the rest home for our dinner. It was bland but luckily I had the right fixin’s in the cupboard to make it special and… The L.‘s eggplant parm also ended up as part of dinner that night. We took the eggplant and added it on the pizza. Its bread had become too soggy. Our bad. The service was plentiful. We must have had three different people help us. While we appreciated their attentiveness it did not make or dining experience feel personal. Maybe that is just the way they roll. We love going to Bronxville. We have tried many of the restaurants there. And while there are none that stand out to us, many are rather pedestrian, we enjoy spending a few hours shopping and eating. Il Bacio is worth another visit perhaps on a warm Spring day when their wall of windows is open, gelato is season appropriate and winter is but a memory. That just might be the secret to a better experience and meal. Cannot hurt to try…

I think this is a decent place, although nothing amazing. It’s street parking, although the street is set up for slanted parking, so you will get more parking spots than your normal street parking I guess. The place was busy when we walked in, but got seated right away. The seating was a bit tight I guess, tables were very close to each other but nothing horrible. The food was good. I ordered the eggplant parm(I didn’t like the appetizer options much), and a margarita pizza. My gf got mozzarella caprese and pasta. The eggplant parm was good, but it wasn’t amazing. Tasted a bit bland to me. The pizza was actually pretty good, I think that’s a dish I would try out again. The pasta tasted decent, but I think it needed a bit more sauce. The service seemed a bit rushed, had to ask a couple of times for water, and the waitress was a bit rushy at first. I think I may come here again before judging it for sure, but I don’t think I’m a fan right now. If you are going, try the pizza. Other than that, I don’t know the food stands out that much. We also got the tiramisu gelato, but it had a weird alcoholic taste to it. I think it overwhelmed the taste of it.

Il Bacio, Il Bacio, how much I love you, Il Bacio! My family and I(over 10 people) went here for lunch on a rainy Friday afternoon after a funeral for my lovely grandmother. To honor tradition, we enjoyed a meal together and reminisced about the awesome person she was/is. The space is a bit cramped but they were very accommodating to our party size(which includes a 9 month old baby). Our waitress was very attentive and kind to any and all requests we had — I know that service is a commonly cited complaint here on the Unilocal reviews but I can only say good things about it(we had a pleasant blonde woman with a bit of an Eastern European accent). As for the food, I had a bowl of strachiatella soup for starters. The size was whoa! Really huge and awesome for the price — kinda hard to screw up strachiatella soup but it still was very good. Next, I had the Manhattan panini — the eggplant, the goat cheese, the wow… everything married very well together. The bread had the perfect blend of softness and crunchiness that you long for when ordering a sandwich. The fries were also crisp, fresh and not too salty or greasy. Now onto the revelation. The dessert that changed my life… the affogato. PLEASE do yourself a favor and order it when you come here. Every single time — you need to. It is literally the best dessert I have ever tasted — I ordered one with nutella gelato and it literally had the most perfect blend of chilled espresso(which makes the difference, I think. Other affogati I’ve had prior had scalding espresso that ruined the gelato and panna before you could enjoy it), fresh panna and chocolate sauce. Please, just always order it. It’s the culinary version of the song«Happy» by Pharrell — you will not be able to hold in a smile if you eat this. I love Il Bacio and hope to go again ASAP under happier circumstances.
