ACME

The fruits here seem to be never fresh. I always buy some oranges/​pears what have you here and then a few days later bite into it and it’s turning brown from the inside/​brown spots are forming etc.

Higher prices, lousy produce and meat, and the same rude staff as the old A & P.
They have cleverly discontinued cheaper items like a standard bunch of broccoli, now only selling broccoli crowns for $ 3.49 a pound. The cheapest small pack of conventional grape tomatoes I found the other day was $ 4.99, when you used to find the same thing for $ 2.99 at the old A&P just months ago! The better quality meat previously available at the A&P has now disappeared.
I was overcharged on 4 items on just one order — with no apology — only bad attitude from the staff. At 9:30 pm one evening — 30 minutes before closing time — the only cashier in the store told me she would only accept credit cards, no cash. What? Do you want my business?
The Bronxville Acme needs a new manager and a new attitude — train your staff (and replace the rude ones), ditch the rotting old produce, improve the quality of meat and produce, increase the organic selection and decrease the prices.
This store is a disgrace and belies its tony location.

BIG improvement over the A&P. Courteous and helpful staff, clean and well lit, and the lines always move along. They grind their own beef for hamburger there, which I like. And the bakery bread is much better than I expected. Good sales-​today they had red peppers for $ 1 each.

Much cleaner and brighter than the old A&P. Also staff seem friendlier. Such a smart move by them to do away with the annoying self checkout and add cashiers so you can now get out of their quickly.
The place is much improved. Yeah, its not the best grocery store in lower westchester but if you’re in the area its nice to have Acme.

Terrible. The prices are not that great and they have expired products on the shelves. we need a better supermarket in the area.

The meat is terrible. When it was A&P, there was a decent store brand so you could get decent meat (sirloin, filet mignon, NY Strip steak) and it would cook up well. Now the sirloin is fatty and sliced thin; the filet is awful — stringy and tough. I’m going to the local butcher instead.
