Walgreens

Typical Walgreens. You can get what you need but don’t expect it to be quick. The line is really slow and the staff seems to hate life. Even though this place is directly on 161 I still prefer the CVS in the mall.

I was excited that a Walgreens was opening in the neighborhood. The only other franchise pharmacy around the vicinity is CVS, which is horrible to begin with. However, that’s for another review.
I stopped by to check the store out and after leaving, I came out with mixed reviews about the place.
— Cleanliness & Organization, 5 Stars. I expected this to be the case as it’s brand new location and has recently opened. I would have to return at a later date to see if Walgreens is still worthy of 5 stars for this category.
— Waiting Line — 2 Stars. Unlike other Walgreens and Duane Reades, there was no placement to show where the cashier waiting line is. So as a result, there was a line that can’t really be a «line» as it was all over the place. CVS has the same problem and I hope it’s something they will resolve.
— Cashier — 1 Star. The woman wasn’t polite at all! If the receipt provided the name of the cashier, I would have certainly mentioned it as a word of caution to others. After scanning my items, she asked if I had a Walgreens card, to which I replied Yes, I do, one second. As I pull out my phone so it can be scanned, as I do with all other Walgreens and Duane Reade locations, she says rudely, just put in the phone number. I say, I have the app ready, you can just scan it real quick here. She proceeds to scanning it and while I’m paying via my debit card, she bags my purchase and literally just throws it onto the counter and gives me a face basically saying «f**k you*. There was no reason for her to do this at all.
— Overall Service — 2 Stars. Before getting to the rude cashier, the «line» was getting quite long. It went from 3 available cashiers down to 2, because apparently it was more important to welcome people into the store than ensuring a satisfying and speedy service to all their customers.
I will definitely come back at a later time and see if the place changes, but as I see it now, it looks like it will just turn into another horrible CVS with the exception of belonging to a different franchise.
