Been here since they first open. Big fan of small pastry/café shops like these, and when i tried their goods i was very excited-until the owner started cutting down on portions and up on prices.

Found this gem while getting my nails done next door. One word… Delush! Love their Quipes, Bolas de papa & empanadas. Their sweets are good too. Décor & ambiance gets 5 stars. Check it out for breakfast. Very good coffee.

But it’s big it flavor and affordable. Just list a few things I love. — Old School Sugar Donuts. — Grilled Chicken Panini. — Philly Cheese Steak. — Spanish Empanadas — Try the Spinach Empanada — Coffee with Steamed Milk The menu is small but that’s a good thing knowing that what they focus on is well done. The Downfall — This place is tiny.

I have been getting good food here since the place opened. I have had the organic salad(with and without chicken), the hot chicken sandwhich, and many of the pastries and cakes. When it was my mothers birthday I also brought a birthday cake from Vladimir’s. Most of the time, the food is perfect. Once in a while I will buy a donut that is a bit hard, or my organic salad will be missing the carrots or beets(I actually think they stopped putting beets in the salad altogether), but when the food is fresh it is always delicious! Some of my favorite pastries are the passionfruit cakes, and the little guava empanada cakes. Both are delicious, and I recommend getting a few(you can buy a few for a dollar), if it is your first time there. I am a big fan of small businesses, especially in the Bronx, and no one is perfect all the time, but this food ranks pretty high in my book. Would love to see more businesses like this one in our area of the Bronx.

Stopped in for breakfast one Saturday morning based on the beautiful exterior and was impressed by the delicious looking, eclectic collection of pastries. To start I had a meat empanada and a coffee. The coffee was good and they steamed the milk for me! The meat empanada was so good I went back for a cheese. Unfortunately the cheese was not very flavorful and ended up unfinished. stick to the meat. The only minus was the service. They were polite and tried to be helpful, but got in each others way and took the next order before they were finished with what they were doing. Work on this and Vlad’s will be awesome!

Since there’s not much in the way of sweets in my neighborhood, I figured that I might as well try this place out since it’s one of the more recent places that opened. Appearance-wise, it looks good. Foodstuffs are arranged so that you’ll be able to see most of them the minute you walk in and the color scheme makes it so that the place feels homey and welcoming, like a long-lost blanket. I also have to give props to their pastry decorating skills, I don’t see a lot of bakeries that put a lot of effort into making their scratch-made products look more than appealing. However, taste is where the praise dips down a bit. I had ordered a red velvet cupcake and a cheese empanada to eat, two small favorites. The cupcake’s frosting was just divine, however, the cake itself was unbelievably bland, save for a slightly sanitary aftertaste. The empanada looked glossy, which I later learned to be a bad sign, and was quite hollow on the inside, making for a disappointing experience. The one saving grace of this whole time was the hot chocolate that they had. Oh. My. God. That shit is seriously good. What makes this home-made blend stand out is that unlike most places where it tastes rich and jittery, it tastes quite earthy and natural, not making me spaz out like usual, instead just calm down and take my time with things. All in all, the hot chocolate is pretty much the whole reason I go there these days. Those of you who want to try the other pastries may want to do so at their own risk. There are also entrée items like soups and sandwiches available, so you could try those too.

A new bakeshop has opened in Castle Hill so I had very high hopes. Décor/ambience gets 5 stars. Jazz music was playing and the bakery resembles one you would see in a more upscale neighborhood. The actual baked goods are just ok. The coconut macaroon was delicious. I also had the almond cake and vanilla cupcake which were just ok. The icing for the vanilla cupcake was different and tasty. But the actual cake for both was on the bland side. I feel like they could look up and try some better recipes. The service was fine. Wasn’t great, wasn’t bad. I’m not a fan of the paper bags they gave us our pastries in. I prefer to be given a small box to protect the pastry from being squished. Especially since I was handed two small paper bags to carry individually. It’s a bit cumbersome to carry around like that. The prices are decent, the only thing I thought was a bit overpriced was the cheescake. It was $ 3 a slice, but the slice was really thin and small. They also have empanadas, hot sandwiches, and bagels. Overall, this bakery is a nice change of pace from the other shops in the neighborhood. I hope to see this business grow because I love cake and once I find something I really love, I’d be a loyal customer. They need to have something more unique than jazz music in Castle Hill.
