Shell Service Center

We saw a sign that said NY State inspection $ 24.99 at this Shell station and so we stopped for our annual inspection. We have a 2010 Chevy and had gotten an oil change and a full check up at our trusted out of state mechanic just five days before. However we needed the NY sticker for our inspection.
A man named «Bill» told us that the cost for inspection was $ 37. When my husband pointed to the sign outside, he mentioned something about a coupon. We turned around to leave and then he said, «oh! I will do it for $ 25!» I should have known then this place was bad news.
After 20 minutes, «Bill» called to tell us our car needed $ 700 worth of repairs before he would pass it. We firmly told him no. Then he offered to «overlook» some of the stuff if we would «work with him.» We asked for our keys and went to leave but his mechanic had already started an oil change! We said no!
This place is sketchy and I will be reporting them to the state. We had our car inspected down the road with NO issues!
