Food used to be very good here. Lately the quality has gone way down. Chicken looked and tasted as if it was sitting in the fridge forever. The boneless ribs had more fat on it than it should have. The only thing that tasted fresh was the rice.

Let’s see — they’re greasy, cheap, fast… and good! Another reason I like this place: they leave all the hot sauce, soy sauce, hot mustard and duck sauce packets out for customers to take as many as they want. So many of the other Chinese take out joints in this area are so stingy about their packets and I don’t know why. Still, the real reason to come here is because of my first observation. This is just another typical Chinese take-out/sit-in/delivery place. There’s nothing on the menu you haven’t seen a thousand times before in other take out spots, except the difference here is that QF consistently serves delicious, good food.

One of about 5 chinese takeout/delivery places in the area that are all about exactly the same. Nothing new here, but that’s not a bad thing. It’s a decent place to get some quick, cheap chinese. I almost always get the General Tso’s Chicken at places like this, and Quality Chef is no exception… theirs is pretty good, not too sweet, but not quite spicy enough. A little hot sauce always fixes that though. If you are plan on ordering chinese in this area, and you don’t care about getting sushi to go with it, this is a good go to place, especially for a quick, cheap delivery. **April Underdog Challenge Day 27**

I think this place deserves at least 3.5 stars so I’ll give 4 to work towards the balance. I always order the spinach pan fried noodles with shrimp and feel like I outsmarted the gods of grease. I ordered a corn soup once that was pretty crappy, but the noodles are my favorite go-to. This is the only Chinese delivery menu I keep in the house(except Fresh Tortilla, but only for their Japanese). Only negative is that the delivery guy doesn’t come up stairs, but he’ll at least meet you in the lobby.

This is really the main Chinese food spot at which I eat in the Bronx. Other than the buffet, I rarely go anywhere besides quality for my chinofix. The food is always ready quickly. It’s cheap and it’s good, and you get pretty huge portions. There is really no other Chinese place nearby that does it as well. Wah Yon was pretty good, but they had so many health code violations, I could never eat there again. The Great Wall closed. So this is it, and the name says it all — it’s quality.

Your typical Bronx chinese spot. Nothing unique or done especially well. We all know the garbage American chinese food. Delivery is fast. Same guy every time. I did get sick once from their shrimp egg foo young. Stopped me from going for a few months, but I’m back. It’s just so close to home.

Quality Chef is my favorite Chinese takeout place. The General Tso’s chicken combination plate is easily lunch for two. There are a few tables in the place so you can sit down and eat.
