I love Palombo’s Bakery and theirs staff I am regular costumer and I never ran in some of the problems that some of the reviews had. But understand a lot of competitions that try to give this business a bad reputation. To all off you know what Palombo’s is the best around Arthur ave.

If you’re walking on the sidewalk, stop in for a visit. It’s a nice little local business and good desserts either sitting down inside or on the go.

Good espresso, good cannolis, worst service. Not a stickler for customer service but this place had to be noted for the lack of it.

My favorite Palombo was on Allerton Ave. Excellent service, always friendly and helpful. I figured this branch would be the same. ITISNOT. I purchased a cake and wanted Happy Birthday written on it. She takes the piping gel from the fridge and attempts to write on the cake. She fails because the gel is too cold and not soft enough to write with. She shows me the finished product and it looks LIKE A MESS… ASIF A CHILDWITHTWOFINGERSTRIEDTODRAWONIT. I said Nope, That’s unacceptable and I request a new cake. She smiles and insists that it’s ok. We go back and forth, then an older lady comes, speaks in their language(they’re European) and throws in a F-bomb(not sure if to her employee or towards me) and they take another cake out for me, which I told them to not bother writing anything on it. Sadly the Allerton branch has closed. And sadly I will never go back to Palombo again.

GOWHENTHEYAREBUSY. Order your coffee and pastries and walk out. They are so disorganized they won’t even notice. Hopefully this post will help them get their service together. Coffee and pastries are fantastic though. It’s unfortunate the same cannot be said for their staff.

Terrible lobster tail, they sell it but have no idea how to make it, they use cannoli filling !! Also charged us for a canoli we ordered but forgot to give it to us. Will try other bakeries next time

ABSOLUTELYHORRIBLESERVICE. I was furious that after 5 minutes standing in front of the counters them 10 minutes at a table, nobody asked us if we needed help. They, instead, asked everyone else except for me and my boyfriend. I will never again waste my time with them.

Perhaps the hype of this Arthur Avenue staple set my expectations too high. I first noticed that the place didn’t feel that clean. It was also very bright with no atmosphere. I understand they might not be focused on atmosphere but in my opinion, there were too many«eat in» tables for them to not at least pay attention to it. It was also quite loud for a pastry shop. As for the food — it was alright. My cannoli was pretty good but I prefer when they fill the cannoli shells fresh upon ordering to keep them from getting soggy. It was obvious these had been sitting in the case with the other pastries. I will say they are winning on the price though — SO cheap! I understand to keep prices down they may need to keep the place very basic with a lot of inventory in the case but I prefer a bit more charm and attention to quality and details.

With Gino’s closed at 9am on a Saturday, dropped in here instead for a cannoli cream-filled lobster tail(Custom Amount $ 1.25). which was mediocre. Originally the staff asked if I needed help then ignored me when answered yes, but ended up friendly. Restroom is OK.

This restaurant should be closed! Where is the. Health department? Absolutely disgusting bathroom & when I told them– no one went in the clean it– we left– if the bathroom was unusable what could the kitchen possible be like! Gross to say the least

The pastries are not fresh. I ordered a carrot cake and a Napoleon that tasted like it had been sitting out for at least 2 days. The carrot cake was even kind of crunchy. I can’t comment on the coffee since I never had it. But I won’t be returning to find out.

With the summer here, and people sitting outside, they need to keep their fenced in part of the sidewalk, where people sit, more clean. A quick sweep once an hour would take care of this. Behind the counter personnel, including the young lady with the Princeton cap, need to acknowledge people waiting. A simple ‘Hi. Someone will be with you shortly’ will do. Otherwise nice place to chill before resuming your walk through the neighborhood.

Hit and miss Italian bakery on Arthur Ave in the Bronx. They have a large selection of pastries, cakes, cookies, breads and coffee. Cannoli had a great, crispy shell but the cream was a bit too sweet. The red velvet cake had a nice, not too sweet icing but the cake itself was rather dry. Also sampled a gooey, cherry pin wheel like cake that was just too sweet. Plenty of seating inside on communal tables so not ideal for a couple but they have outdoor seating which is nice if you don’t mind people blowing cigarette smoke at you.

As others have stated they don’t seem to get the concept of air conditioning. It was a sweat box in there the night we dropped by. Felt sorry for the girls working there. It’s basically worker abuse! Does the owner know they are probably losing business to all the other bakeries in the area who actually keep their places cool and comfortable? Sure, they have some outside seating but I hate sitting in swamp ass weather while trying to enjoy a coffee and pastry! They do offer a large selection of treats here that’s for sure. We grabbed some to take home with us. Some cannoli and anisette toast. They were decent but I’ve had better. Stop being so cheap and crank up the AC! It’s summer in NYC. It’s hot out. Not everyone wants to sit outside and become a sweaty mess.

Big variety here at very low prices. I had a cannoli and a chocolate éclair, that’s right I had two all to myself and I’m happy about it. Both were decent but I’ve had better before and was a bit disappointed since I thought this place would do better, being in an OG Italian neighborhood in the BX. Can you hear me?

Came here to the new Little Italy of New York in the Bronx and it definitely did not disappoint. Little Italy in SoHo is overrated and overpriced. Little Italy in the Bronx was definitely authentic and amazing. Ordered a cappuccino a cannoli a fruit tart and the best thing of all was their freshly made tiramisu! This is a great spot for some coffee and dessert. Anything I come back to NY I’m definitely coming back to Palombo.

Atomsphere: What everyone is saying is true, the staff seems scared when you walk in. Which is a little funny to me because I don’t know who would be scared of business from people with green pieces of paper ready to spend lol Pastries: Got the chocolate cake and a chocolate covered cannoli for home. The chocolate cake moist, but just ok. Nothing about it stood out, the flavor was just ehh. Had the chocolate covered cannoli at home the next day and it was good. However, it wasn’t good enough to make me go back.

Unilocal should start considering allowing negative star reviews! Unacceptable terrible service and additional violations. Crowded with customers and only one sad over worked waitress taking care of the floor. Not a problem that the wait was long(20+ mins) for a latte and a tiramisu, but messing up and taking more time is a problem. Maybe the food makes up for it? The BF recommended it was good in his Fordham days, but perhaps not much anymore. One would expect an Italian bakery to understand the essence of basic tiramisu – always remember the rum/Marsala. Nope. It’s been sitting for quite a while, that’s for sure. Latte was good, you can’t go wrong with Lavazza coffee. But how bad must have it been? Maybe if I overlooked the bad service and dirty tables and mediocre food, it’s still a decent place by the looks of it. But how doesn’t one complain when a table of four sitting in the«outside» seats, which is open to the indoors, starts smoking up a pack of cigarettes. Now that bothered the shit out of me. I was not even able to continue breathing – let alone, finish a decent coffee with the BF. After politely letting the waitress know about NY state’s Clean Indoor Air Act, she mentioned it to the manager who promted to do nothing but continue taking care of customers. Yes it is busy – but acknowledgement with no action is the biggest sign of shitty management. Yes, we got up and moved. 3 times. Away from the smoke. It engulfed the entire café. Even with little kids sitting just feet away, inhaling 4 cigarettes worth of second hand smoke. How could management not even attempt to TRY. I got upset and no longer needed the reminder of second-hand smoke that killed my dead aunt with lung cancer. Yes it’s fucking personal, but I would never wish for anyone in the room to go through the same. So we got up to leave without finishing. I couldn’t even get a hold of the manager and passed my complaint off to the barista. His response was he cannot do anything about it or the customers would flick him. UM excuse the fuck out of me? Per NYS law effective 2003, it is a complete violation to not have a designated smoking area for outdoor space(up to 25%) if smoking is allowed – and without ANY signage stating so, this table of four was smoking 2 inches away from the interiors. I specifically mentioned that per the clean indoor air act permits that smoking in exteriors must be at least THREE(3) FEET away from the interiors. The easiest way would be to tell customers to smoke 3 feet further away, instead of being intimidated by them. I mentioned that a complaint could be filed against them and they would be fined up to $ 2000. His reply? It’s not the first time he’s got complaints. Half the people working there would lose their jobs because of illegal labor and lack of documentation, and that’s America so deal with it. Well then, I’m fucking sorry I care about the well being of your customers and employees. Just ONE shift can add up to 16 cigarettes from second hand smoke. I guess employee health means nothing to the management. Fine by me, I’m never coming back to get lung cancer anyway.
