North End Wine & Liquor Store

I use to work here and the management treats you like you’re nothing. There are new girls at the register all the time because they have the biggest trust issues. I was a great worker and always conducted myself in the best possible manner. The day I was fired, I covered someones shift last minute and worked a 12 hour shift. One of the older and extremely rude managers, let me go and to this day I never received an explanation. When I asked him why, he said «you know why» which i didnt…
Now I know i sound like a disgruntle ex– worker but everyone praises this place when the truth is, they are a wealthy family that don’t care about anyone else. Why should they… It’s been a few years since I worked there but I know it never got any better.
This is a message to any young woman trying to find a job, don’t waste your time.
All in all, this place was one of my worst experiences ever. I’ve never been treated so poorly in a work environment. They should all be ashamed of themselves.
Just a side not, I look Spanish and was immediately categorized as Hispanic. Little did they know, I was raised Italian and come from an amazing family with many morals and beliefs. I didn’t let them know I spoke Italian as well and the things they would say were just disgusting.

One of the best liquor store in the Bronx for sure. From the funny/​innovative commercials to the dozens upon thousands of the finest liquor choices to chose from. North end is really a cool place to go to. The staff is excellent, very helpful and knowledge as well as fun and down to earth. Never had a issues speaking with them, they always as for ur is which is excellent. North end is just amazing overall and should be noticed By everyone from the Bronx and beyond.

With my baby boy I am not alone as I help him plan a house party and North End was on the list for good libation. North End carries Svedka’s new hard to find flavors of Svedka Orange Cream Pop and Svedka Strawberry Colada at $ 14.99 per bottle. This liquor store is nicely layout with ample space and carries good wine. Shopping baskets are not available but we put our purchases on hold at the register counter to continue shopping and the cashier associates were friendly. I like this liquor store.
Service appears to be nonexistent as previous Unilocalers stated. North End is more of a self-​serve environment but a step above a shady enclosed glass-​canopied liquor store.

I’ve been here a few times and I tend to find certain drinks here I don’t find anywhere else. The service is wack which is expected in that setting, the girls seem frustrated to have to ring people up and must not understand the concept of a job. But not always has it been bad. 3 stars is fair because…
They really need to do something about the drunks and crack heads that be roaming inside the store. Me and my friend had just purchased a $ 25 bottle and I guess one of these hooligans is being chased out for trying to steal and bumps into my friend hard who then bumps into me and my bottle fell and broke. The store told me they were not responsible and could not do anything about it. I was pissed but the bottle was needed so I swallowed my anger and purchased another one… SmH
Another time was heading over there and I seen the infamous Flava Flav coming out with his crew carrying boxes of liquor. I was laughing hard and was surprised of how people were trying to jump on him. He winked at me and I just kept it moving. Goes to show what this store attracts. SmH
Improvements are needed here

I live in the neighborhood and go to school at Fordham University. It’s great having such a superb liquor store so close by with an unbelievable selection of wine and alcohol. I did have a very strange incident yesterday. I called early in the morning to be disappointed that they don’t give prices out over the phone, but it didn’t stop me from stopping by to pick a couple of things up for a party. The woman working was so friendly and cooperative (I had a lot of questions about mixed drinks and wine and she definitely knew her trade). Sadly, I forgot to purchase a bottle and had to come back and the environment was completely different. The women that were working showed no interest in me that I didn’t ask for help this time. I was disappointed that they didn’t even wish me a good night as I walked out. This place would be great if they had more staff that was educated and courteous like the woman was early. This will not stop me from coming to North End though, the prices are simply fantastic !

I went there because I was throwing a party. I didn’t want to spend a lot on wine. They charged $ 10 for a big bottle of Gallo, which I think was a good price.
The customer service was appalling. I walked in and no one greeted me. I wandered around for a while trying to find the wines that I wanted. It took me a while to figure out that one of the men there wasn’t a customer, but in fact an employee. There were two cashiers standing there talking, although only one was ringing up and working. Why would it take 2 people to operate a cash register? And to think I used to do it by myself when I was a cashier. Neither of the cashiers seemed interested in ringing me up. It was like I had interrupted their conversation and they were annoyed that I was there.
Considering there were only a few people shopping when I was there, service shouldn’t have been that bad. I’ll probably never go back there again. The prices weren’t so low that I should have to be treated so poorly.
The last gripe was that they only took Visa and Mastercard. Yikes!

Always great prices! I hook up my whole bar w/​o breaking my pockets worth of liquor and the selection is great!

I love buying at whole sale prices. It fairs a lot better then laying down more cash at local liquor store which adds up in the long run. They have a big selection of alcohol at reasonable prices. Located right in a shopping area so that you can get the alcohol your going to be getting tipsy off of as well as your outfit all in the same place.
