Received new glasses and the service was very good. Some confusion on the staffs part as to my health insurance and how I was to be billed but in the end I feel that they were honest and took care of me nicely. Even though this confusion made me upset at the time, I feel the staff was courteous and pleasant to deal with.

After reading the reviews I had thought they had cleaned up their act, but the customer service continues to be terrible. When I walked in there we no customers, and the 5 employees were just talking and treated me as if I was bothering them. Despite Metro Optics being accepted by my insurance company, they refused to accept my insurance(UnitedHealthcare). It seemed to me that they wanted to charge me the higher«out-of-network» rates. That meant that I would have had to pay $ 200 for what was supposed to cost me $ 50. The manager(Blonde lady, whose name I don’t know) was not there at the time. I don’t know if that’s what made the experience so bad.

I’ve been going there for about 12 yrs. Yeah there’s truth to the fact that some of the front desk staff are a bit rough around the edges. In the past one used to be outside all the time, but I think she’s quit. I was there this week. The customer service girl Destine was a super nice, sweet girl. Not one bad thing to say about her. I optometrist were nice as well. The new manager hmmm she isn’t the best. She isn’t what I’m used to as far as the customer friendliness. All in all I got 2 pairs of designer frames and I’m satisfied. Probably gonna go to the new one in Throgs Neck with the management that I’m used to.

Everyone here was courteous and professional. My eyes are very damaged and they were not just trying to sell me on things I did not need. The doctor examined my eyes and spoke to me not at me, like many doctors tend to do with patients that have many complications. They reminded me when my prescriptions were about to expire and gave me options, working with my budget.

Service is top notch, staff is friendly and helpful, store is very clean with large waiting area and there is plenty of parking in front. My one and a half year old, broke the arm of my Chanel eyeglasses this morning. I threw in my contacts and drove to metro optics eyewear. I was being helped within minutes. Aurora and Aura gave me a few options of how they can help and smiled the whole time. They were very pleasent and made me feel better that I didn’t have to buy a new pair of glasses or wait weeks for a new part. They changed the arms off for me and they were as good as new! I will continue doing business with them and recommend them to my friends.

I have to say I have dealt with many, many optical stores over the past 22 years as my child was born visually impaired, and Metro Optics has to be my absolute favorite! This was my first appointment for me here. From the ease of making an appointment that was convenient to my schedule and was the next day, to the vast knowledge of the employees of my insurance plan was a HUGE relief. At the time of my 1st appointment at Metro Optics, I was greeted warmly as soon as I entered the business. I was ushered to a chair to start my paperwork. The process was quick and painless. Though their were many walk-ins along with appointments, I noticed that everyone received Curtiss service by smiling employees! While waiting for my turn to see the optometrist(15 minute wait) I viewed the huge selection of frames along with an extremely helpful employee, who took the time to listen to my concerns and helped me choose and try on however many frames I might like then collected them all to be finalized after I saw the doctor. The actual appointment with the doctor was intensive and extremely thorough. I was not rushed at all and she was kind and extremely respectful of my listening to my vision problems. After a yeas of blurry vision, she was able to explain to me why I was having issues and was able to get the perfect prescription for me. She was also able to diagnose a reason for m dry eyes. Needless to say, I was VERY impressed with the care I had received! Next stop was to finalize my frame choice. With the help of my primate sales associate as well as the manager and my husband, I was able to find the Perfect frames for my face and skin tone. I would highly recommend Metro Optics to anyone needing optical services. The store was spotless, the employees always were calm, knowledgable and courteous even when they got very busy. There is a huge waiting room, a bathroom and a HUGE selection of frames. I am now a permanent customer and very happy I choose Metro Optics and can’t wait to bring the rest of my family here!

Went in recently for my first appointment at Metro Optics, I was seriously impressed. Despite a full waiting room, customers were seen promptly and my wait was a very reasonable 10 minutes. Upon completion of my exam, and a thorough explanation of the prescription needed, I was seen by the sales staff. The woman that helped me was so knowledgable and had great taste. I ended up getting a frame I never expected, and my glasses look better than ever(not to mention my eyes are being care for professionally). They run a Class A operation. Bravo, guys!

I had a 12:40 appointment and was seen 20 minutes later. I had to renew my contact prescription and resize my glasses. Was out the door in 45 minutes. Eye doctor was awesome and the most professional of all and she even gave me free trials contact lens. Service was good and the ladies who were working the floor were nice to me. I sensed a bit of hostility between 2 employees but overall I was satisfied and will come again.

Not happy! Had a 1:00 appointment and waited an hour and 10 minutes past that to see the doctor. She was great and the exam went well. For a somewhat larger store with multiple locations, you would think they would have more of a selection of frames. They are very focused on up selling you. I get it. I do the same at my job but even after I made it clear I wasn’t purchasing any extras and I had picked the basic frame covered by the insurance, the girl still tried to push other choices on me. Let’s see how it goes when I pick my new reading glasses up!

Customer service is horrible. The front desk girls have been there for years, usually the big one that looks like a crackhead smoking outside. What’s the point of having a job if your not willing to act professional? Just because they work in the Bronx doesn’t mean they need to bring the ghetto with them into work. The optometrist are nice, they do their job. But they need to replace the front girls who do nothing but talk gossip and eat.

This place is awful. Staff is rude and the complain about their jobs and co-workers right in front of you. The large lady with the thick blue eye shadow should retire or learn how to be customer friendly. Don’t ever go here. Oh and to top it off after spending over 4 hours here they got my perception wrong! !! They actually get a negative star from me.
