As far as the Bronx goes, I have never had better Mexican food then at Oasis. Their soft tacos($ 3 each), especially my favorite, the chorizo, are packed with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. Piled high with pico de gallo, onions, cilantro, mozzarella cheese, and lettuce, they are perfectly filling and delicious. But, don’t forget to order their made to order guacamole with hand cut still warm tortilla chips. The women who bring Oasis to life have successfully brought authentic Mexican fast food to the Bronx in a most delightful way. Open for the past two years, I have driven past this shack so many times without even noticing it was there, offset from the road in the shadow of the Fiorano Car Wash. Seating is outdoors under umbrellas at picnic tables that allow you to soak up the sun and eat cheap. Overall, it is a Bronx gem that you have to try for yourself.
