I love this place. Wish I could stop by more often. Nice, clean friendly environment. You’re treated like family. The food is great and are served in large portions. Prices to die for… The George Special is one the most purchased menu specials, you can split it with at least 2 people. Stop by and taste for yourself.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. two plates stuffed to the brim with delicious breakfast food all for 8 dollars! Me and my girlfriend have been there 3 times so far, once this past weekend and twice in on weekend during the summer since we live out of town. This time around, my girlfriend is pregnant so she NEEDED the food (especially since she’s been talking about it for near six months). We were absolutely not let down. George even once gave us cheesecake on the house because we decided to stick around and enjoy the food instead of taking off and going about our day. Love it, we’ll be back as soon as possible.

Wanted to try something new in our neighborhood, we stumbled upon George’s from the help of many many good Unilocal reviews.
We were really hungry as we haven’t eaten and it was approaching 3 in the afternoon. Were seated quickly and ordered a bowl of chicken soup, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, chicken quesadilla, bacon cheeseburger and a chicken parmesan. One thing that attracted us to George’s was the many reviews on their portion size. We were sure full and left with a doggy bag each. Service was awesome and food came out really fast. Just a bit disappointed with the tasteless chicken soup and the chicken parm. Hubby liked his bacon cheeseburger.
We would like to give it another try before writing it off from our go to place.

THIS… This is what I think of when I think of the REAL NY. Just your typical, plain, classic dinner to come to for breakfast. No matter how busy it is the service is excellent. AND the food is great too. On top of that, the portions are just huge. it is fun to come in here and see all the locals, and different characters of NY just getting a start on their day. There is something old fashion and remensicent of the experience. They are so quick, its great! We hope to make this place a new tradition of sorts.

I asked my family what they thought about this place as today was the first time trying it. None of them could answer because they were so stuffed. Place is awesome. Food was great and the prices even better. They give you a lot for your money. Kids started off with complimentary hot chocolate. Which I guess it’s because it’s winter even though it’s 61 degrees outside. My son had pancakes eggs and bacon and my daughter and I had regular breakfast meal and hubby had bacon cheeseburger deluxe. Everything was two thumbs up all around. Did not get 5 stars cuz you wait a little but they do deserve the 5.

Huge portions, quick service, great delivery and tasty food
Only took a star off because of the «wait time» on a Sunday b/​w 11am-​12pm. We got here because of bomb reviews Diddnt think that eating at a diner was supposed to take 30min just to be seated. But they are popular!
I think it was the owner who came out and gave everyone slices of delicious pumpkin pie on the house. It was my first time eating in so not sure if they do it all the time or that day was especially crowded and he wanted to make us feel better. Few weeks later I placed an order for delivery to my job, less then 30min hot fresh breakfast. PRICES ARE GREAT TOO!!!

George’s produce suppliers must be living that fat cat life judging from the gargantuan salads served here. Their salads have effectively prevented me from even thinking about their other entrees despite how affordable they are, especially for a diner. From observing other patrons during my two visits here, I’m sure I won’t be disappointed by their entrees… that is if I can ever get past their salads.

I’m doing an internship in the Bronx and I’m very unfamiliar with the area. I have come to this diner once a week for the past month and I’ve ordered a different menu item every single time. Everything I’ve ordered has been SPECTACULAR. Their staff is so friendly and accommodating. This mom and pop diner puts a lot of love into their food and they treat their customers really well. Great place to come for a hearty breakfast or a healthy lunch.

By Far the Best Place for Breakfast, Huge Portions at a Great Price. No one leaves there Hungry, Just Stuffed !!!

Wow!!! Busy, busy but soooo good. This is one place you will not be leaving hungry. This diner is very busy small but certainly got my money’s worth. Only downside was the bathroom not working at the time. Food was great so was the service, I’ll be back if I’m ever in the area.

This place is so freaking cool. The portions are gigantic and the food actually tastes great! The fries are crispy and the pancakes are awesome. Come on and talk with George, he’s a cool guy.

Ok, being in the Bronx, there’s only a few diners I regularly go to. and I just found a new favorite! Having driven by George’s diner so many times, My girlfriend and I finally decided to go yesterday and we were impressed! Waitresses and staff got to be one of the warmest and friendliest set of people I’ve seen working in a diner. Waitresses are super attentive and very welcoming, makes you feel right at home.
Now let’s skip to the food. super delicious, super cheap and ALOT for their price. Having seen the george’s breakfast special on the menu. i thought it might just a small flapjack pancake, a small french toast, with some breakfast meats. and boy was i wrong, eggs and homefries was ONE huge plate and the pancake came separately on one plate, and it was the size of the plate! Plate is easily 8 – 10 inches in diameter. On top of the giant size pancake is a thick slice of french toast, sausage and bacon. Easily enough to feed 2 – 3 people and it was under. $ 8. Unbelievable.
I also ordered the chicken salad club sandwich and it was easily one of the best chicken salad sandwich i’ve eaten. Chunks of white meat in a light mayo dressing with bits of celery that gives it a crunch but not a overwhelming in your face celery taste.
How good is it? So good, i went back again for breakfast the next day (today).

Went there for breakfast with my bf earlier & it was by far one of the best places I’ve been in the area. The food is sooo good! & the coffee! It’s a small place, with minimal seating, but we literally waited not even 10 mins for a seat. The waitresses/​waiter were so attentive, polite & quick. It’s a cozy & comfy place. I definitely recommend! :-)

Just looking for some breakfast we stumbled across this little gem. From the outside you might say wth, but this place will be my Bronx go to for breakfast and lunch. Great food, very large portions, and the service is great. Being from the south im ecstatic to see grits and this diner nails it. Ive been here twice so far and love it.

Had a late night snack attack and went to good olé George’s on the corner of Crosby and Westchester ave. the food is always solid here and comforting. So here’s the run down, grilled cheese, bacon and tomato sandwich (my guilty pleasure) was grilled to perfection, gooey goodness. The Brisket was tender, flavorful and was plentiful! Loved my chicken matza ball soup, better than Bens Deli in Queens, but the onion soup was lacking with a very bland, watery stock. Ps never, never order wine in a diner. Not only was it a cheap bitter Sauvignon blanc, but it tasted like it had been opened and left for a week. I do love the colorful cast of characters of this restaurant especially Barbara our waitress
who are warm, talkative and the ultimate Bronxites!
