Comic Book Store prices are fairly standard unless you are collecting, it seems. What makes this store a standout for me is the fact that kids can come in and have a safe spot to play their trading card games, like Magic the Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh. That n’hood vibe is precious. The owner is always there. And will tell you that he has been there for over 25 years. If he knows you will be a customer, he can handle your needs.

What happened? Did the fumes from the Nail shop downstairs drive everybody insane? I paid for parking in Da Bronx and got to stare at a dark shop and smell acetone. Please give me another chance?

I lived in NYC for a few years before I found Fordham Comics. I wasn’t enjoying the lack of community in stores around the city. With fond memories of preNYC life where comic store owners talk to you and learn about your tastes, suggesting or giving freebies for books you may like… I was not happy with what NYC offered in that regard. In my experience, everywhere else besides Fordham Comics, the NYC comic shops consider you just another number. this guy gets it. I don’t always agree with him! haha, but I totally respect and will return to buy books whenever I can make it up to Fordham

An okay comic shop. Been here a couple of times before. A decent place I’m not a comics fan but more of a Japanese manga fan/reader so this place definitely needs work on getting more mangas into the store for sure. They have a wide variety of magic cards and other tcgs. The store needs heavy cleaning as well it was super dusty and had an old smell. If they fix those problems this store would get things rolling for the positives again.

A true collectors dream wether you collect comics, figures, or statues the owner is very pleasant willing to help you find anything your looking for in the piles and piles of comic book long boxes! A lot of Bowen statues! And the owner has a passion for Play Arts! So he has, and tries to order every release! A great collectors corner On the other hand comics is not the market it use to be so the store is usually packed with high school student playing cards which he also sales. I would give this place 5 stars but it’s so hard to find! It’s literally a hole in a wall spot very easy to miss. It’s a third floor above a tattoo parlor(red dragon) above a bootleg electrics store.

This is a pretty nice, secluded, old school looking comic shop. They’ve been there for over twenty-five years, approximately thirty-one years if I recall correctly. The entrance is a bit hidden but it’s connected to a nail salon, tattoo parlor, and finally the comic shop on the third floor. Inside the shop you can tell that their main focus is on card games, Magic The Gathering to be specific. They have a large assortment of cards, and the owner is bother very generous and helpful when selling or describing the certain expansions or core sets to you. They also offer Friday Night Magic, an official MTG event for players to come and duel against one another. Don’t rely on my word for this but I was told they have drafts with a $ 15 buy in, for which you get 3 packs to play with and keep. The winner gets a prize of 8 packs, second place gets 4~, and so on. However, please don’t rely on my word for the prior. Anyways, it’s a cool little shop to take a look in and to buy your Magic The Gathering cards, or comics. I’m looking forward to joining in some casual events on the weekends.

Driving late was heading home and decided to stop by. Parked my car had to call the shop to try and find it. Finally was guided to take it up to the tattoo shop he was on the last floor. Small shop back issues still marked at cover price. I was gonna pay with my card and he wanted me to spend 25 dollars just to use my card. Needless to say I would not come back here. There’s another comic shop in the Bronx on Riverdale, Magnum comics your better off going there.

My opinion of comic stores in the bronx is really taking a nose dive, I visited Fordham comics 8 years ago and I found it to be a decent little comic shop but after moving to NYC and going back there this past year oh how the times they are a changing. This place stinks. I dont think anyone has taken a broom to the place in years, where there used to be comics displayed around the whole store now all thats left are piles and piles of dusty back bin boxes and open space filled with trash. The new comics are in a old comic spinner rack you would find at the local drug store. My opinion, avoid and just go to the city for your comic book needs
