Foodtown

I went to Foodtown this past weekend to pick up a few things. The store is very nice, clean, and organized. They also have nice looking produce and a pretty good variety of things compared to many other places in the area. Then on top of all that, the employees were very helpful and friendly. With all that said, of course you pay a little more for the food, but there are still some ridiculous great deals to be had. Even though I opted for Brown Organic Free Roaming Eggs, they had a special of 4 dozens of regular jumbo eggs for $ 5. I was actually a tab bit leery that deal was so good. All in all though, good store.

This Foodtown is fairly new. I believe it has only been a year or so since they have been here. I’m very appreciative for having businesses like this in The Bronx. Especially in my neighborhood. Not because the food, lol. But they really make these areas better and Foodtown believe it or not has been a better asset to us.
This market of course is not a Whole Foods (though they do carry organic items) or a Pathmark but they are a plus above C-​town, Fine Fare and Associate regulars. This store is very large and are always well stocked. I’ve read in other locations that Foodtown does false advertisements, well I have not had that issue here. Everything I see promoted I find. They have a great deli and they even make their own salads to sell which was a plus for me to have for work. I find them pretty affordable and they have good savings to add… or should I say subtract.
Compared to some markets I’ve visited, they are well organized and very much clean. I always see the manager and he seems the kind of person to be on top of things a lot and likes to see them done the right way. Helpful gentleman as well. Maybe he should retrain or teach some of his customer service skills to his employees (or should I say cashiers). That is the reason for the star reduction. I can not say all, but some of these girls seem to have a very bad attitude and others look like they regret not calling out of work. Sometimes I wondered why they were hired, a little hospitality does not kill. But I show my appreciation to the other girls that make effort and smile while assisting you.
