Empire Chinese Restaurant

I’ve been going here since they first opened and when they used to be located around the corner before opening this new store.
The food is good, I usually order the food instead of going to the buffet side.
The people behind the counter are real nice.

I heard about the buffet and assumed it was the average all-​you-​can-​eat kind. Judging from the taste of the food, I wouldn’t have gotten my money’s worth anyway. Second helpings? Who? Me? I couldn’t even eat everything on my plate during the first serving. Correction… Styrofoam container, not plate. Their buffet is equal to 4 sides + 1 drink = $ 5. The sides I remember are General Tso’ s Chicken, egg rolls, fried shrimp, fried chicken, sweet plantains, barbecue spare tips, chicken w/​broccoli, lo mein, and vegetable rice. You aren’t able to serve yourself, they do it for you. You just tell them what you want and what kind of drink… voila!!! The temperature of the food made me wish there was a microwave available to me. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a genie so I unwillingly ate the slightly cold trash. Oops, did I say trash? Where are my manners? Pardon me… let’s just say I’ve tasted better. The egg roll was bland, the chicken & broccoli need to part ways and let broccoli go solo because the chicken was disgusting but the broccoli was on point, the General Tso’ s Chicken was okay to say the least, and the fried shrimp was the overall highlight of my 4 sides. I chose a canned orange Sunkist as my drink and I kid you not, even the soda tasted weird. I won’t be coming back here unless… I can’t even think of a reason.

Good chinese food! Really cheap, the place isn’t that beatiful, is just take away but you can pick it up and go eat to the park nearby of the chinese food, my fav is pork fried rice with chicken broccoli. They are also really fast cooking

Nice little Chinese Restaurant on Featherbed Lane. I like they have the option of ordering regular plates to-​go or you can enjoy the mini buffet there and take a comfortable seat. The restaurant is simple and nicely set up. If you would like to take something from the mini buffet to go… They give you 4 sides and a drink for $ 5.00 which I feel it’s a pretty decent deal. To me this is the best Chinese on this block, but they have their negatives as well…
…Points off because the food was not hot enough for me… I live 2 blocks away and when I got home I had to literally microwave it myself (no bueno)
…The service was terrible. My friends say that is expected from a local Chinese spot in «The Bronx» and also because the language barrier but that doesn’t say much to me.
If you run a business, no matter where you are. You chose to open a business here and I think it is very important to show gratitude and great customer service. The employees were un-​interested and just seem to want to rush you to get your order, pay and be on your way. If I can thank you for your services, a simple thank you for my business wont hurt in return no matter where your from. This is just Ahhh-​Ok

It was a Sunday night. I was hungry after coming home from services. I wasn’t really satisfied with my regular Chinese spot, so I decided to try Empire, which recently opened a couple months ago. What a difference! I went in to get my favorite dish, Sesame Chicken with Tostones (Fried Green Plantains), it was simply amazing. I had to wait a few minutes, but the food was worth the wait. The Sesame Chicken was not drenched in the sauce, and was delightfully crispy. I also noticed that there was also buffet style food in the restaurant as well. Here are a few pros and cons to Empire.
Pros:
–good food
–good pricing (a bit cheaper than the other Chinese restaurants in the area)
— nice workers behind the counter
Cons:
–a lot of people walking in and out
–loud atmosphere
–the smell of cigarettes from outside traveled into the restaurant
–a few messy tables were spotted
The food here is just good! I think I found my new spot for when I’m home.
