This place has just the right amount of food for each serving… Although it is kinda expensive for the amount of food they give… I ordered a couple different things but they were all sublime! It was so good! I got the mildest it would go and it still had some spice to it but it was so good I didn’t even mind. They also gave us a rice pudding on the house. They are so nice and have great customer Service, I will definitely be ordering again really soon! This place is great!!!

They always take more than 70 – 80 minutes to deliver and they’ve delivered incomplete order twice in a row. The food quality is very bad, not even worth half the money you pay.

I keep wanting to love this place, but I don’t. This time I tried the tikka masala sauce based on all the reviews praising it, and my GOD was it disappointing. Sorry, Curry Spot. Gotta go back to my original three star. I hope the tikka masala sauce has changed recently, because otherwise the area reviewers haven’t ever tasted good tikka masala sauce, and everyone should have good tikka masala sauce in their lives. But you won’t find it here.

This is the only choice for Indian food in the area, so I was very hopeful about this place when I moved to the neighborhood. Everything here is pretty mediocre from the food to the décor to the service. The chicken and lamb dishes are pretty good but the vegetarian dishes are very bland. The naan is usually dry and very soft – I like my naan a bit crispier. I made the mistake of ordering dessert once and it was frozen solid and hard. Also, the prices are pretty high for the portions they give you. I’d recommend the tikka masala dishes and skip everything else.

I WISH I COULDGIVETHISPLACENEGATIVESTARS!!! Soooo, this place has good food normally, but whenever you order be prepared to wait at least an hour and fifteen minutes for your food. Unfortunately the worst thing about this place is the customer service! It’s very difficult to understand people on the phone because of their accents. There’s a learning curve and I understand that, but if your customer cannot understand you, there’s a problem. Secondly, I ordered this evening and they said my car was declined. That was impossible because there is several HUNDRED dollars on this card, but the man said, perhaps we try another card. I said sure, I’m just hungry. We try another card. He INSISTS that he must hang up and call me back to run the card. So I wait, while throughout all this, I ordered 20MINUTESAGO and my food isn’t being made. Then he finally calls and says there’s something wrong with my cards and I should just go to the ATM and they’ll still deliver. I tried to explain that the point of delivery was so that I didn’t have to leave my house. Then he starts talking over me, while I kept a polite tone and did not insult him at all. He refused to listen and by the point, I was so beyond disrespected that I lost all interest. NEVERORDERFROMHERE. Order from a place with people who respect their customers and have machines that work.

HORRIBLE service The food wasn’t good at all– it came out cold The staff was very lazy, and never cared to check on the service or table. Made us wait for a long time. I disliked everything about this place. I went a couple months ago and had such a bad experience. There was 1 table there besides mine, it’s not like it was busy. I will never ever return there again!

The food has gone downhill in the last few years. The samosas used to be delicious. Crispy with flavorful meat inside. Now they are rarely cooked properly and they have a slightly sour type of taste. Similarly, the biryani has lost its special touch. I’ve had the biryani at least 18 times(roughly 3x a year the last 6 years). At one point you could taste the spices in it. Giving it hat authentic Indian flavor. The last couple of years I’ve noticed the rice is bland, spice my noticeable, and also has a bit of a «sour» taste to it. The quality of the chicken is also somewhat poor. For $ 13 I may as well cook my own rice. On a positive note. Their tikka masala sauce is quite good.

This is for delivery. It took a little longer than expected. I ordered the large size for my dishes. Everything was in a little tiny container!!! I did not pay $ 50 bucks for such shortage of food.

I love this place so much. When I lived in the neighborhood, I ordered it all the time and it was he very first thing I ordered when I moved back. recommend the buttered chicken! So good!

My reviews based solely on take out and delivery. Ive had The Curry Spot many times because its within walking distance to my home. Although the portions appear large it is mainly sauce with very little meat or fish, with that being said for the amount of food you are getting it is quite over priced. The food is always fresh and flavorful and there is never an outrageous wait time.

The food was great. The service could use some work. I asked for my check multiple times. I literally had to go up to the front and demand my check. I had left overs and asked for a little more rice at the end of the meal. They said they would give it to us but they didn’t. Priced fairly. I’d definitely return despite the issues that I had.

This is the best Indian place that delivers to my apartment(full disclosure, there are two). I really enjoy the tikka massala, chicken curry, and saag paneer. The chicken madras is okay. Delivery is reliable, unless you miss the call when they arrive.

Don’t understand how this place is 4 stars overall… The food was meh, very forgettable. A older gentleman that worked there(got the drift he was the owner) was organizing silverware not too far from us in the main dining area and making a very irritating racket as he clanged away the forks and knives, have to say it didn’t do anything for the ambiance. Not to mention he was very awkward and unfriendly. By far not even close to decent Indian food.

Came here last Friday night and its been a while since I’ve had decent Indian food. The service was medicore, but the food made up for it. Yea the portions are small, but if you order right you can make it work. I reccomend the chicken tikka masala and the saag paneer, but would stay away from the goat dishes. Naan was good. I’ll come back here maybe for some lunch specials.

Deciding to have a quieter night in we picked up a curry from this spot. 3 stars might be harsh(3.5 is fairer) but I think compared to the offerings we are spoilt with in London it isn’t in that ballpark. Ordered the shrimp jalfrezi which was really tasty if a little watery and the rice and bread were solid without being stellar. If I lived here, would have no craving for Indian food with this as a local. Good friendly service and the price($ 6 – 8 a dish) is good value. The mango chutney was weirdly expensive but good(maybe mango is harder to get in NY?) Free rice pudding — bin. Sorry. Good effort for a takeaway. Has seating to eat in too.

Food is Pretty good, wish it was more tasty… As it is a little on the bland side. I was a little annoyed when I ordered chicken korma and they brought me chicken curry. When I called to complain the man told me that the two dishes are basically the same(Um… No?). I told them I want what I ordered redelivered, he told me it would be another $ 10! I said I didn’t want the curry and that I would return it — that I wasn’t paying for two dishes. Anyway, they brought me the correct dish and took back the curry(which was a little weird). This place used to be the only Indian food that would deliver to my area, but recently two new places opened that I will try instead… Vegetable somosas were pretty good(hot, crispy) and chicken tandoori(which I ordered before) was excellent.

The curry spot comes through in the clutch. I have many allergies and HATE pub food which is plentiful in Woodlawn so when it coms to a spot to grab something quick it is slim pickings. The staff is very nice, the restaurant is a little dingy on the inside but over all its not too bad and pretty clean for the most part! They are always so nice about telling me which dishes have dairy in them and they have offered to make with out dairy for me as well. So the accommodation factor is good. They seem to have a pretty good take out and delivery business as the phone is always ringing. As for the food it is decent, always comes out hot and the past three times I have been every time has been better than the last so I am happy that it is consistent. At the end of the day if you want pretty nice service and an inexpensive veggie meal come by!
