The food was good nothing over the top. But the service could have been so much better. The waitress was constantly rushing us. Literally the minute we sat down she came over and asked if we finished looking at the menu and if we could order. It wasn’t even busy when we were there so I didn’t see the need to rush. I would only come back here if there wasn’t any other option.

This place has been around since I can remember as a kid. Everything here is subpar at best. Little bland if you ask me. The breakfast items and snacks like donuts in such even the pancakes and eggs are better than most things on the menu. I’ve had their burgers; I wasn’t impressed at all. So stick with breakfast items if you come here. At least it’s cheap and convenient. beware of panhandlers outside around this corner. Especially at night

I don’t go to Yankee games that often but when I do, a stop at Crown’s diner is a must. I always order the same thing, a Crown burger deluxe. This burger has grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, bacon, and two types of cheeses!(american and mozzarella). The service here is wonderful with kind and attentive staff. Crown’s diner has a very special place in my heart and the next time you find yourself at Yankee stadium or the vicinity, make a quick stop and have a nice meal.

Good food at very affordable prices and quick service. It’s a hot spot for eveyone, locals, employees, fans, and courthouse, so they’re obviously legit. Donuts are amazing, much better than that overrated chain. Good deals on standard bottled beer if that’s your thing. Cash only though.

Sooooo I enjoyed the place, but my buddy wasn’t feeling well afterward so I need to take that into consideration. You’re not gonna find the city’s best restaurants in the area, so you have to go with what you can get. I’d recommend hopping on the train and heading into Harlem for some eats, but if you have to stay around here this is good for some quick eats. –The service was very nice and friendly. –The omelet was as it should be –The fries and onion rings were on point –Prices were as you’d expect –Donuts were fresh and tasty –Solid iced coffee –Chicken Caesar Salad could have used a few more ingredients. It was mostly lettuce, but alas. Buddy who wasn’t feeling well had a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. Maybe it was just too greasy, or he was not feeling well for other reasons, but hey, have to mention it.

As soon as we sat down the waitress comes over with napkins a cup of hot water with the utensils inside of it… wtf is up with that? Did she not have any clean utensils ready? It wasn’t like the place was packed where she couldn’t find the time to wash them… there was hardly anybody in the place,(I wonder why)? Or did the dishwasher break down??! Good thing what we ordered was finger food or if not I would’ve gotten up and left, but regardless to the matter, you’re still supposed to have napkin settings in any restaurant you got to, finger food or not! I had to ask her to get me some other clean utensils so that I could finish eating the rest of my food whether I needed them or not. She’s lucky she got a $ tip!

Tried just about everything on the menu! Great service, even during rush hours. Food is just about average, don’t look for anything special, but they are good! Kids get free donuts on the weekends with any paid breakfast I believe! My response to them? Keep up the hard work!

Once again this diner wins on service. The food is consistently fresh and delicious and the service, which can be hard to come by in these parts, is friendly and helpful. I hadn’t been in about a year and a half and it seems they have updated their menu and the name of the diner in the mean time. Nevertheless, the quality remains high and I believe it to be the best local joint in the area — Not to mention it’s convenient proximity to Yankee Stadium! Burgers never fail, fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings, hot and fresh, their milkshakes win every time — And their breakfast is the right way to start the day :)

Oh man, where do I start? This place was horrific!!! Me and my girls came here after partying. You look around and there’s every walk of life up in here. We asked for a table, one girl comes to take the liquid orders and Maria takes the food orders. We order and finally get our food but while waiting, I’m noticing the turkey bacon and pork bacon are cooked on the same grill. So much for non-pork eaters huh. We get our food and then an argument ensues regarding a $ 47 check. All the while, all the involved parties, the waitress, security and the owner are standing backs to us, their behinds practically on our table. So because of this commotion, we were never served our toast or butter. We had to go to the chef and ask for our toast, which was given to us with butter and jelly already spread on it. The jelly tested like the jelly from a jelly donut. This confusion was extremely loud and went on for a good 15 minutes(at least). There’s more to the story, but what I know is that I will never eat there again.

This place is a legit diner. We came in here mostly to get out of the rain. Not only did they keep us dry, but we got awesome diner fare. The mirrors were a little disorienting, but it adds to the charm. When the choice is between this place or the Hard Rock Café in Yankee Stadium, that’s not really a decision.

A solid diner for when the game sucks, the Yanks are losing, and you’re hungry. We ended up in here after the above happened and we wanted fries. We were quickly seated and given a huge menu full of your typical diner grub. Our waitress was very sweet and checked up on us often. I decided to go with the Greek omelet which included tomato and feta. One friend had the Italian panini, another had a burger, and the final person in our group had the spinach omelet. Our food came out relatively quick and it was delicious. The fries here are amazing. My omelet was so good, they used proper feta(not the watered down, no longer crumbly crap some places use). Everyone else enjoyed their meals, as well. All that plus soda for $ 45.

All I ordered was cheese fries with gravy. The fries were inconsistently warm. Either flaming hot or Luke warm. Only some of the cheese came melted. The gravy was blah and watery. And the portion was not great for $ 5.50. My friend who took me here loves it and had the Gyro and some donuts. He comes here often and says that the fries were an aberration, but I am not convinced.

Is this the best diner in the Bronx? I doubt it. Could it be the worst diner in the Bronx? Ehhh… it’s up there on MY list, at least. I was near the Yankee Stadium area and met up with a few girl friends to grab a bite to eat. We chose to meet at Crown Donut Diner since diners are affordable and tend to have a variety of food. After looking over the menu I decided to order the chicken tenders with fries combo. HUGE mistake! The chicken tenders were somewhat soft on the outside and sturdy in the middle, which I don’ t think is NORMAL. To top it off the fries were super greasy and left in the deep fryer for way too long. I ended up eating some of my friends wings since I did not even want to eat the majority of my meal. The wings, which she, and so did everyone else, assumed would come coated in a sauce did not. Her BBQ sauce choice was served on the side, but she wasn’t a fan since it tasted and smelled rather unique. The only thing that stopped me from giving ONE star was the fact that the staff was extremely nice, helpful, and the service was quick.

This is by far my favorite diner in the Bronx. I can’t even count how many times I’ve been here and I’ve never had a bad experience. I’m a breakfast fanatic so I’ve never gotten anything from the dinner menu but, that goes to show how great the breakfast is. The pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, French toast, grits, everything is so good. The staff is very nice and the service is always prompt. I definitely recommend this place.
