Catania’s Pizzeria & Cafe

My job ended up delivering pizza from her so I decided to give it a try. Not even kidding, the nasiest pizza ive ever had in my life. The dough was under cooked and pure white. This made us all sick and running to the bathroom. We had to re heat the rest of the pies. The sauce tasted like 99 cents tomato sauce. The cheese had no flavor whatso ever. I think ive had pizza from little cesars that was alot better. Never again!

–Real pizza (if your looking for pineapple or salad on your pizza you will be dismissed)
— The pizza is always served at your table.
The Lasagna
–Always fresh and as good as any homemade I’ve ever had.
–The portion is generous and they will tease You if you can’t finish it.
–You can order an entire tray baked or unbaked So you lie to guests at home (not that I have done that).
The Pasta Fagioli Soup is insane the best I’ve ever had.
The Calzones
— The best in all the world by far.
The breakfasts! That’s right breakfast !
— What pizza shop is open for breakfast all day long?
The staff and service
— Sal and Ronnie are the nicest people in Earth, it May not seen like it but they really are. The 1^st time I went there I forgot to pay for the last 3 slices. They refused to take my money when I went back to pay for it. I’ve been a regular ever since.

I work over here and we order from them at least once a week. Food is always hot and delicious! The best NY pizza!

I literally felt like I was in a scene from the Soprano’s, in a good way. Very authentic NY style pizza. If you’re looking for the New York experience, this is the restaurant for you.

Great mini calzones best in the Bronx located on Arthur Avenue the true Little Italy in New York come on in you gotta try one of these things the meat and the veal and peppers are my two favorite. I heard the cheese and sausage are great too. Awesome stuff.

This is the best pizza for real. Crispy crust, spongy interior. Just perfect with that New York water I love it. I’m from Jersey and its just not the same there. The water in the city makes such a difference its really unbelievable. This is my spot whenever I’m in the Bronx.

It’s places like this that exemplify the classic NY slice of pizza. You’d be surprised how many places can screw it up, and how many tourists seem to find those places and use it as a measuring stick. Catania’s does it well, just enough salt and grease to keep you smiling, full, and addicted.
If you want to turn it up, grab one of their mini calzones. I’m an admitted fiend for the mini veal and peppers calzone. Deliciously simple with a strong taste from the peppers that other places seem to miss.
I also love to listen to the standard heated discussions and venomous sarcastic humor (that one can only find in family establishments in urban Italian neighborhoods) as I munch down their delicacies with a smile.

Great pizza. Very fresh and of the classic new-​york style us out-​of-​towners call it. Another great find in Little Italy.

The 5-​star rating is based on the mini-​calzones alone. I grew up in Manhattan but went to Little Italy in the Bronx all my life just to have their mini-​calzones.

This best describes what Bronx pizza is. The décor is very outdated, but trust me, that’s not a bad thing. It just adds more flavor and authenticity to the experience, yes, the experience.
The slices are thick. The ingredients are fresh. The place is very cool. I mean seriously, what pizzeria brings your slice to your table? Catania does.

The Mini Calzones are 5 Stars Try the Sausage and Cheese Soft and Crispy all at the same time it is Calzone Perfection. the rest 3.5 Tops Pizza is pretty Good But this Arthur Ave (little Italy of the Bronx) so you gotta step it up, with all the fine Pizza shops in this neighborhood the pizza is just regular nothing Special although the slices are Large but again You must Visit for the Mini Calzones the Best there is I dare you to find better.

AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING pizza. Great, crispy crust. Nice large slice. Calzones are terrific as well.
Cheapest in the area as well as the best — can’t beat that combo.

Oh hey, Catania’s, you are a treat. While the majority of undergrads may be hoodwinked into thinking the dec’d out Pug[sley’s] is the last stop for pizza, faculty know where the good stuff really is.
It is only at work that I indulge in Catania’s pizza. On those days when paperwork has been secreted into fifty mountains on my desk, the boss is stressing, and no one can afford to leave the building, the default for survival is Catania’s. One large pie, two to three slices a mouth, and oh so good. I hear the calzones are legendary. & it’s no wonder why, since they come as a sheet of about 25 mini calzones with just the right amount of ricotta and made with the perfect balance of soft and crisp.
Delivery shows up in about twenty minutes, and the pizza is hot. What more could you want? Besides a break.
