I ordered the short ribs with mashed potatoes and the ribs were disgustingly gummy and tasted like they were sitting there for hours. The mashed potatoes were obviously instant and not from a good brand. The best part of the meal was the salad, which they didn’t have to cook. The price was outrageous for the poor quality food and the overall experience was disappointing to say the least.

I come here 4 times a year to get dinner to go. The food is delicious and filling. I wish the portion of sweet potato fries are bigger though. I always get the burritos. As a person who does not keep kosher, I must say I don’t miss the cheese when I eat the burritos from here. The manager, Givon, is awesome. One time my order was missing a side of fries, but I didn’t realize this until I was out of the vicinity. I called and he rectified the situation immediately. As long as the food is delicious here, I will be a customer!

This place is great, especially for lunch. They make great wraps and sandwiches. However, I would improve your selection of drinks, they’re mostly unhealthy. Maybe some Honest ice teas and things of that sort.

I ordered takeout from here delivered to my place. I have to say the delivery was speedy fast, but for the amount of food I ordered, it should have taken a lot longer to get to me. One of the items I ordered was the chicken salad with Caesar dressing on the side, they did not give me my dressing, so I had to she take something from my fridge. The grilled chicken was tasteless and extremely dry and way overpriced for a salad that has 4 things in it. Oh also, don’t listen to their menu on the website because apparently the prices have not been updated and you only see the real prices after you already pay, and once I complained they said too bad. I have to say though, my husband and I also got the wings and nachos and those were amazing, so that is what my 2 stars are for. Still this place is way overpriced and not worth it, but too bad there are not many kosher restaurants in this neighborhood that delivers, because if there were I probably wouldn’t eat her again.

My son and I love this place! I love the chicken burrito and zingers are awesome with the avocado dipping sauce! My son loves the burgers and fries! Love it! Chicken nachos are good too. Nice staff! Just gave some fries and chicken zingers with the avocado sauce to my son’s friends and they loved it too!

Where do I begin? The place is set up like a sit-down restaurant but was more like a take out chop suey. The staff was unprofessional. When we first came in we were asked about a green tea we brought in but ultimately were told we could sit down with it. But then immediately after another staff member ran out when my girlfriend and I sat down and we were asked to cover it up in a paper bag as if we brought booze into the place. It would have been more acceptable if they had explained why the drink had to be covered up, but instead we were given the paper bag and simply told we could not have outside items. We assumed that the reason for not having outside items was because it is a kosher restaurant, but we were never given a reason. We ordered four items: a chicken and chorizo platter, spicy fries, mac n chorizo balls, and split pea soup. Let’s just say that the food was not worth the $ 42 we were charged. They gave us a placard to let us know when our order was ready, but instead called us up when each individual item was ready, which got annoying after awhile. One of the staff was also clearly eyeing my girlfriend every single time she picked up the green tea. This will be the first and last time we patronized this restaurant.

I had to stay late at work the other night and my company only allows kosher food. This place was fast and brought exactly what I ordered. I got the asada burrito and although the steak could have been thicker and didn’t taste authentic it wasn’t bad and the overall taste of the rest of the burrito made up for it. I’m happy I found this place and it looks like that have a great lunch special so I will be trying them again!

I got a catering order for 20 — there was easily enough food for 35 people. Very generous portions(of course), service with a smile, and delicious food. Would HIGHLY recommend. I chose to pick up, but am sure delivery would have been fine. The entire ordering process was quick, easy, and professional — I just picked package #2 and took all the credit as my guests complimented me on the food choice.

They have a shabbat menu that is completely different from their regular menu, and is really fantastic. Their drunken hasselback salami is probably the best tasting salami I’ve ever had in my life. No joke. They also have a ton of other stuff on the shabbat menu that are all great. Mmm, their potato salad is so yummy and rich. Their regular every day menu is amazing as well, and I have to say their guacamole is much better than other tex mex places I’ve been too, and guacamole says a lot. The manager is extremely accommodating and always puts customers first. It’s so nice to see someone with a managerial title who genuinely wants to help customers.

If you’re expecting to eat a quiet lunch, DONOT come on weekdays. The high school kids come in during their lunch break very loud, making it hard to even think, speak or enjoy yourself. I try to dodge the crowd and order out. Other than that the food is EXCELLENT! I can’t complain! A tad bit on the pricey side though. Their staff is very friendly, especially Emily! I love her attitude. She always seems to be in a good mood, always eager to help her guests. I can’t say the same about one of the other ones who has always seemed to rub me the wrong way. Not sure what her name is but she’s the only one that I’ve seen stand, I mean«work» in light blue shirt! She seems to be always in a bad mood, as if she doesn’t want to be at work. Smile more! It won’t kill you! Anyway, I definitely will continue coming back. As always.

Carlos and Gabbys is a good kosher mexican. The steak soup was good except it didn’t have a lot of steak in it. The BBQ chicken salad which is big but very good. The burgers are not mexican but they are still good.

Customer Service: I ordered a large order of food for myself and my kosher co-workers and it arrived 2.5 hours later. With that being said my money was refunded and I was given a $ 50 gift card. Because of this I will always be a customer of Carlos & Gabby’s as I am a HUGE fan of accountability & great customer service. Food: The food was great… The flavors were light and fresh and that’s all I ask for. Im not a big fan a salt, sugar and any other unnecessary additives. Carlos & Gabby’s delivers on their promise to provide kosher mexican food. Unless you find a Mexican Rabbi I doubt that you’ll find better.

Taco was good, brisket burritos were good, though I think they shrank them a bit from a few months ago. Salad was good and HUGE. The thing that was awful was the cowboy steak dish. It think they describe it as a sirloin steak, which is not a kosher cut, so I don’t know what they actually use, but while the flavoring was good, it was so stringy and tough and full of gristle and fat that it was inedible and a waste of money. Also, the mashed potatoes that come with it totally taste like reconstituted potato flakes(yechh!). So again, I remind myself not to get anything but the basic mexican stuff from this place. I’m really irritated I spent(wasted) the money on the steak!

The space was clean and bright. Service was friendly and patient with my questions. Food was just okay. I didn’t know what Mexican Kosher might be and for those who keep kosher, this would seem to be a good option. I ended up getting the Chicken Fingers with Fries. The chicken is coated with a cornflake-type breading which was full of crunch. The fries were basic frozen and fried.

I’m a downtown girl but my boyfriend lives in Riverdale and there aren’t many options for food, especially Mexican, so we gave it a try. I gotta say… it’s weird. Neither of us are Kosher, and as a general thought per my experience, Kosher food isn’t terribly tasty — so that was my first fear. The upside was, I’m slightly lactose intolerant, so I didn’t have to worry about anything being slathered in lots of cheese.(Although cheese, is one of those things that you kinda need in Mexican food.) Burritos lack something, i.e. pizazz, taste, whatever you want to call it. The chicken tenders are pretty tasty — again… they’re weird. Cornflake encrusted and deep-fried BUT I thought those were actually pretty tasty. I will say, they have to stop w/the one-by-one item presentation. The kitchen’s gotta get it together, no one wants to eat piecemeal like that, whether you’re alone or not. The dipping sauces are pretty good, I’ll give them that. So TexMex, no. Mex, no. But cool kinda weirdly different but tasty chicken fingers, yes. OH and guys, you gotta lower those prices. It’s Riverdale, not Times Square.

High hopes for Kosher Mexican were squashed. Tasteless carne asada & greasy, might I add, disgusting chips served with guacamole & nachos. To elaborate, the carne asada was slathered with a layer of a mayo-like condiment. Since when does a Kosher meat restaurant serve meat with dairy??? HUM? Anyway, the carne asada made me vomit. A V-I-L-E hot sauce is served on a pathetic looking condiments counter next to the door. Certainly has a fast-food vibe including the lack of cleanliness: oil stains on the table tops & crud/food on the dining room floor. I had to wipe down the tables myself with napkins. I’ve never had a more unsettling, disgusting, vomit-inducing meal in my life. The food is NOT served to you: they call out a name if you’re a usual customer if not a ticket # is called out by the counter people. I agree with the«Cafeteria style» food AND service.

To be honest, I don’t really know what the previous poster means about«cafeteria style,» because it isn’t like a «get your own food out of a vat of food» kind of thing. You go up to a counter, you order, you sit, they bring your food to you. How is THAT cafeteria style? Anyhow, I thought the food here was excellent, and the service was really great. The girls at the counter were welcoming, informative, and willing to make sure that certain things were sans gluten for me(thanks gals!). I ordered some serious nachos with chicken and the husband picked up two Habibi tacos and one Adobo taco, with some spicy fries. Over alll, we were both exceedingly happy with our food. The nachos were loaded with veggies, sauces, and a ton of guacamole, which I had to scrape off because I’m not huge on guac. My only beef with the nachos was the chicken, which, to be honest, added nothing to the nachos. They looked sort of like cubed, frozen, bagged chicken bits, and I would say that next time I’m not going to get any meat on my nachos. Note: Try the buffalo sauce, it’s outstanding. I left here full, so very full, of kosher Mexican goodness. We’ll definitely be back!
