Really good fresh quality BBQ. My wife and I came here a few times before and never really had any complaints. They have new management now this time around. Lots of food and we’ll worth it for the price. Good friendly service. Waitress checked with us a few time to make sure everything okay and asked if we needed anything else. Will come back again for sure.

Just ordered at the alley cat smokehouse, order was incomplete, I paid 51 dollars worth of food. Food was missing sides, guy on phone said he personally packed our food, calling us short of liars, all sides were missing. The grilled 3 cheese was missing tomatoes. Not to mention cheese was not melted. So after waiting an hour and 20 minuted for food, after being promised it was gonna be 45 minutes. Actual bill was 44 dollars plus 3 dollar delivery fee, I still gave 3 dollar tip.

SAAAHHHHWEEEE!!! Man! I love this place. BBQ the way it should be. Let me tell you why this place get 5 stars! The smokehouse is beautiful. Full stock bar and wonderful draft beers. Even fun drinks such as the Frisky Kitty(a favorite!) the waiter is always friendly and there is peanuts on the table for you to munch while you wait for your food. My fiancé and I ordered the Bronx Trio… Wings… Brisket and Ribs! Melt in your mouth brisket. Ribs was just running off the bone. Wings has that delicious grilled/smoked flavor… I am guilty of eating here about twice a week. Everything is delicious! & we had the Mac and cheese with creamed spinach. I wanted to see if my Grandma was back there cookin! They have a beautiful tiki outdoor area that I l love to go and have a drink in the summer. This place is the Bees knees!

All i have to say is WOW!!! Just called Alley Cat Café for the first time tonight. The guy who answered the phone said they were closing early so they weren’t taking any more order but then was nice enough to take mine, and i was so glad he did. We got the«trio» with a couple of sides. The«trio» consisted of perfectly cooked brisket that had the perfect amount of crispy fat on it, spice rubbed ribs that fell off the bone and were insanely delicious, and 8 spice rubbed wings that were very meaty and seasoned to perfection. The sides we got were a decent order of mac n cheese and some surprisingly awesome jalapeño cornbread. I really hope that word gets around about this place because i definitely plan on ordering from them plenty of times in the future. Highly recommended by this food lover.

Great take out. We had the ½ chicken and the St. Louis Ribs with sides of Mac & Cheese, slaw and the jalapeño cornbread. Hope the Karaōke kicks off on Fridays.

Alley Cat Café brings the diversity we needed in this area. John, the owner, made a smart choice of bringing BBQ to Throggs Neck. Chef Brian and his team crank out some really good food, especially when you get tired of the monotony that surrounds the neighborhood. On different occasions I’ve tried the ribs, jalapeño cornbread, collard greens, BBQ smoked salmon and BBQ chicken. I am no connoisseur of BBQ but everything I’ve had so far has been satisfyingly good. Alley Cat Café offers a happy hour between the standard hours of 4:00pm-7:00pm, but even without happy hour their drink prices are very reasonable. On this particular visit, bartendress/waitress Mia, the hardworking young woman who seamlessly managed the bar/restaurant/front of the house with ease was a pleasure to witness. And during all this work handed to her Mia still displayed a pleasant demeanor, it was a joy to watch. If you’re in the area and are looking for a restaurant that has a neighborhood feel with great vibes, decent ambiance indoors and out, then check out Alley Cat Café.

First time getting food from here, pleasant experience, so here’s a review. I ordered on Seamless. I got the Smokehouse Burger, with Mac & Cheese and Steak Fries. I ordered 2 sides, because fries weren’t listed as one of the included sides for some reason, so I was stuck with Mac & Cheese. The food came about 20 minutes before the estimated time. Which was great, because there is nothing worse than a burger and fries sitting in a delivery container, being steamed away to sogginess. That wasn’t the case here thankfully. The burger was still hot, with all the addons separated(lettuce/tomato/pickle), and the fries were still crispy. It’s a big burger, I had to cut it in half, I really enjoyed it. The fries were beautifully seasoned, and didnt need ketchup. On the menu it says the burger comes with a poblano aioli. I asked for the sauce on the side, which it was, but just got what seemed to be plain BBQ sauce. No complaints, just wondering what the other would’ve tasted like. The Mac & Cheese was nothing to write home about, but definitely better than I expected. A little doctoring up to my liking helped a lot and I’ll def be saving it for leftovers. I plan on ordering here again soon. From reading other reviews here, the brisket will most likely be my next pick. Thanks for a good dinner!

I would never eat from here again the food is horrible. The chili is just over seasoned ground beef drowning in oil. The Ribs had a weird smell and texture not at all what I was expecting from a BBQ place. The brisket was decent not great but edible and the chicken wings were small especially being its a BBQ restaurant but they were good but that is not enough for me to revisit. If you’re in the mood for real BBQ food DONOTGOHERE.

So I was scrolling through GrubHub, looking for something to order for lunch when I stumbled upon Alley Cat Café. I’d never seen it on the list before and the menu looked great so I decided to give them a shot. I am quite glad that I did because the food is amazing! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and red cabbage slaw. The pulled pork was some of the best I’ve ever had. Juicy, tender, not at all dry like a lot of pulled pork dishes I’ve had. The pulled pork was so good, in fact, that I decided to order again the day after. This time I decided to try the brisket, mac & cheese, and more sweet potato fries & slaw. The brisket was just as delicious and tender as the pulled pork. I mean melt-in-your-mouth tender. And the mac & cheese was also quite impressive. I rarely order mac & cheese when I see it on a menu unless I know it’s amazing because so many restaurants get it so wrong. Well, lucky me, they ran out of collard greens and I took a gamble with the mac & cheese. It was flavorful and herbaceous, definitely well-seasoned, not at all bland. I love eating a meal and tasting the love & attention given to preparing it. I read in another review that they smoke their meats from 8 to 18 hours, and it definitely tastes like it. I don’t personally know anywhere else in the Bronx with BBQ this good! I can’t wait to eat in the restaurant so I can try their homemade sauces and some of the other tasty-looking menu items. Honestly, the only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because I’ve only ordered twice. But believe me, I am so sold on their food. I will most definitely be updating once I stop by for a visit!

Alley Cat Café is tucked away in, well, an alley in the heart of Throgs Neck. You could easily walk right past it, but you shouldn’t. My boyfriend and I came on a Friday night and it was really empty! :( We started off by munching on the complimentary peanuts. Drinks are reasonably priced and made very well! The food choices are varied and since I’m no BBQ expert, I stuck with a simple BBQ chicken with macaroni and cheese and corn. I’ll just say that I am NEVER stepping foot in Dallas BBQ again. This chicken was actually moist and flavorful! It was also fun pairing it with the different sauces. The macaroni and cheese was garlicky and wonderful, especially in terms of texture. However, the restaurant was really, really quiet. As a result, my boyfriend and I opted to completely monopolize the cash jukebox, which made it a party! According to our tastes, anyway.

I was on the verge of dying from starvation and not wanting to put on any pants… Hey it’s hot. I had a hankering for BBQ(non pork) and looked on Grubhub. Found this place and I’m pleasantly surprised. I ordered the brisket, jalapeño cornbread and applesauce. I just really had a taste for the meat… not sure what that means, stick with me. Anyway everything was great; meat tender, cornbread moist and enough sweet balance with the applesauce! I will be ordering from here again. My delivery came 20 minutes earlier than expected. Thank goodness!!! I’m glad I could get brisket without having to travel to the city or put on pants. I’ll be ordering again!

Woo! Yaaaaaay local spot! Cool little place in this back alley that has it’s own smoker. There’s really no reason to buy bbq anywhere in the neighborhood except here. I went in and had the bronx sampler or something but either way it was ribs, brisket and chicken wings. I’ve eaten my fair share of ribs, wings and brisket and I was pretty sure the star was going to be the ribs but the wings were pretty amazing. Don’t get me wrong it was all one bite after another of meat-sweat heaven but it’s so rare you find really good chicken wings. I’m definitely coming back to try more sides and meat because meat in any kind of form is just wonderful. I really love this place’s meat and I think in this boondock neighborhood, these guys are doing God’s work. I get some of the bad reviews though. Bbq is a very personal kind of experience and I’m sure there is there better bbq out there but this is just a great nod to Smokey bbquey goodness in throggs neck. I salute you meat people.

First up, the macaroni and cheese is AWESOME. I’m picky when it comes to mac n cheese, come from a family that makes and bakes impeccable mac n cheese, this place knows their stuff. The Cuban sandwich is so good but at times they can kinda over-bake the bread and it becomes dry & hard(not cute). The pulled pork sandwich has a great flavor and its very filling along with the Smokehouse Burger. Cutting to the chase, the food is great and the portions are reasonable, a little on the pricey side for sandwiches though. Other than the delivery being a little long at times, this place is great.

So far Alley Cat Café is the only place I have found with BBQ in the bronx. If it is the only place I ever find, I will be happy. The food here is so good, and the service is awesome. I split the bronx trio with a friend and was not disappointed. It comes with brisket, a half rack of ribs, and chicken wings. We also got creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese for sides. I won’t even both describing each in detail, because they were all fantastic. They also have great craft beers, including Prohibition Ale(a personal fav), which is a real rarity and value in the bronx. I can’t wait until the weather warms up so I can go back and hang out on the patio!

Visited 4÷13÷15. This is one of those places that your tastes buds wish you found sooner! I’m certain would be packed beyond belief every night if it wasn’t located in such a discrete little nook. The service was really good. Servers constantly check on you to make sure you have all that you need and answer any questions regarding the menu. Recommendations: BBQ Gatos nachos — The best nachos I’ve had in quite some time. Perfect amount of meat and cheese. Bronx Trio– If you’re feeling indecisive this is the meal for you! You can’t substitute anything from this meal with something else on the menu, but you don’t have to. You get a little bit of everything with this sampler and there’s enough food to feed two people AND still have left overs. Priced at $ 27, it’s quite a steal!

When it comes to food this good I am always conflicted… do I tell EVERYONEABOUTIT(my gut tells me I should share the love) or DO I KEEPTHISGEMTOMYSELF? I mean, I am profoundly in awe of the deliciousness of this place and I am even more shocked that it’s located so conveniently close to me. THIS is what this neighborhood needs! This is a place I could go back to over and over again! I know I usually write long details reviews but, honestly… this place doesn’t need that. It needs YOUTOEXPERIENCETHEDELICIOUSNESS! I have had delivery on 3 occasions to date and loved it every time. I decided to hold off on the review until I went in person to try the whole experience. I am so glad I did! Molly, our waitress, was informative, polite and attentive. She recommended I try her favorite dish, the burnt ends. OHMYLORDINHEAVEN… that was the most delicious, succulent, fatty, flavorful meat I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. It’s the ends of their perfect brisket cooked up to be a bit crispy but still butter soft and juicy! I noshed on the perfectly cooked and seasoned corn on the cob and had to remind myself that I was eating in public and should probably maintain my composure. I lost myself in all that was delicious! Their jalepeno cornbread puts many a cornbread to SHAME. It’s the perfect blend of moist, sweet with a spicy kick! My boyfriend indulged in the brisket on Texas Toast with a side of the cheesy grits. I tasted it all and I can attest to it’s perfection. We were so moved we had Molly bring out Chef George so that we could shake the man’s hand and thank him in person. We loved every single bite. They were also very nice to us and even told us about the up and coming tiki bar in the back seating area in the summer. We look forward to many more meals there and will be sure to return with our friends! HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

Back to have great BBQ brisket and my collard greens, but wait, my partner ordered a bacon burger and it’s juicy and delicious too!’ Hidden away in Scott’s Place alley way, you have to try their amazing BBQ! They smoke their meats from 8 to 18 hours, make their own BBQ sauce, cinnamon applesauce, collards, awesome Mac and cheese., fall off the bone ribs, pork bellies.,.oh no I’m getting hungry again! They also have a full bar with specialty beers(I had the Damn Bastard, no I’m not cursing, that’s the name) that complimented my brisket(thanks John) You all need to get your pork butts in here and try this little BBQ gem nestled in the heart of our nabe!!!
