A & P Supermarket

Now Key Food, & no better, even worse. Worst checkout workers, rude & unfriendly. Now even more expensive than before. They need to close down this store. The best workers is the deli section.

Poor interior design makes the store seamed cramped and crowded. Not as clean as one would like. The store seems antiquated. The staff is just OK ranging from helpful to comatose. Poor deli selection, high prices– less than average in general. North Riverdale certainly deserves a better super market. It’s no wonder this supermarket chain has declared bankruptcy (again)

Seems a tad bit racist I asked an older women in the dairy department if they had a bathroom see said only if your a customer? I had a circular in my hand two items.

It was hard to believe all the negative commentary so I decided to call. I asked about a product and was transferred to the Seafood Manager, still waiting for him to pick up the ringing phone. Which has now been redirected back to Kim whom I originally spoke with. Now, she’s transferring me to the store manager upon my request. The phone is still ringing. Spoke to the manager, very helpful. Advised him of the horror stories/​reviews I read and employed him to go to the site. He asked if they were old. I don’t know. If so, they should try and find customers to go on line and post positive reviews if changes were made. Good luck. I can’t travel from Flushing in the blind.

I always buy apples and pear with my weekly grocery shopping at the A&P and every single time there is at least one, usually two pieces of fruit that are rotting inside. What is the problem?

This store is a couple of blocks away from my apartment and I hardly ever shop here. I would much rather get in my car and drive to the Stop and Shop at Cross County, the Whole Wallet at Ridge Hill, Stew’s or one of the Fairways either in Pelham or on 125^th Street.
This store is expensive. Their quality isn’t great and their prices, while lower than Whole Wallet are very high. At least at Whole Wallet the quality is consistently good. Here it’s not exactly a crap shoot but the veggies are often starting to wilt and there is LITTLE to no variety especially in areas such as cheese and dairy.
The lines are long. There are long lines no matter the time of day. I’ve stood on line for 30 minutes at 8am. I’ve also stood on line for the same period at noon and at 8pm.. I’ve been there when about 5 other shoppers were present and I’ve stood on line for 20 mins.
The store is also in desperate need of a makeover! It is grubby! Not dirty really, just run down and scuffed up. It needs new paint, new shelving and a new layout.
I’m glad to have a supermarket close by. I just wish that it was in better shape and had more variety in what it carries. As it is, this store lets me stock up on juice and maybe some milk and carrots before a big storm but that’s about all it’s good for.

Convenient and open late.
Service mostly ok, cashiers are usually nice.

Outdated store. Long lines.
Sometimes veggie/​fruit aisle is literally empty, meat too. I don’t get this.
Bad cheese selection, bad bakery, deli counter is nasty looking. I wouldn’t touch the salad bar with a 10 ft pole.
Mostly older residents shop here, better than a bodega but it seriously needs an upgrade!!!
I wish this strip mall were renovated ! The A&P could be so much better!

Horrible place to shop. Employees there are rude. Never acknowledge you (and after they did, I wish they didn’t). Place is dirty. They scam, cheat and trick at the checkout on mostly elderly shoppers from the neighborhood (prices don’t mach, false on sale stickers, dusty and expired products).
Neighborhood’s only supermarket — take or shop few miles away.

This place is terrible. I hate going here but there are very few choices in the area. It’s always dirty and smells. The veggies often appear to be old. It’s also somewhat overpriced, in my opinion.
