Great Wisconsin Cheese. Love going there, best cheese and prices in the state! Smoked Cheddar is by far the best anywhere!

We went into the shop and had cheese sandwiches they were very good. The curds were excellent with a variety of flavors. Very little seating inside and out side. The selection for sandwiches were good is you only like cheese sandwiches, no soup, no other sides. If your in the area so by but I wouldn’t make a special trip out there.

Bought a couple bags of curds after sampling a few of the different kinds they offer. We also had a grilled cheese. Wow! It was awesome! And an absolute steal at $ 3.50!

Best prices and great service! I stop very couple of months, buy a grocery bag of awesome cheese and vacuum seal it at home. There curds are from muenster and grilled cheese sandwiches are rich and luscious!

If you are ever around this area, you DEFINITELY have to check out the Decatur Dairy. They offer tours (cheap, $ 2 when we went) that have a very passionate cheese maker tell you all about the process. Did you know all cheese is white? Things like munster and cheddar are colored for looks purposes only. Guess that never occurred to me.
Anyways, the real reason to stop in is the cheese. I highly recommend about 10 bags of curds, as they tend to go quickly in my house. The BBQ ones are my favorite, although the garlic and dill ones are quite tasty as well.

Best cheese curds ever.

I have lived in Green County for over 10 years and I only recently discovered the Decatur Dairy through a radio ad. I had to buy a gift for my friend who is from Europe and has an intense appreciation of cheese. I purchased several flavors of their world championship Havarti and the Muenster. We are now both converts to the dairy. I just want to say THIS IS THE BEST CHEESE I HAVE EVER HAD!!! The shop is small and the dairy is tucked away in a beautiful country landscape. The drive is gorgeous, but the cheese is better. If you love cheese, this is a must stop. And if you find you love it as much as me, but the location is not convenient, then go ahead and use their easy online order and delivery, you will not be disappointed, I promise.
Just a footnote, me and my friend went through our first three pounds in a weekend and I had to make a second trip back within four days. I would never have thought I would be Unilocaling about cheese, but this place is too good to keep secret.
Oh, and like the other reviews mention, the pricing is extremely reasonable, almost to the point of being unbelievable for such a high quality product, but I guess this is the benefit of buying directly from the source. Please join me to support my local economy and local dairy producers.

Best swiss ever– «Stettler Swiss». Also, many interesting and delicious fresh Havartis, like horseradish, onion, pepper, etc. Muenster with jalapeño, and the list goes on and on. They are remodeling and will soon have a new shop ready on the same site. Like all the others said, good pricing.
Update–
They offer tours from 9−11am. Better get there by 10:30 tho, or you won’t get a tour. The new shop has been open awhile and came out nice. They have T’s and hats for sale, can coozies sometimes too. Great curds!

I am very dissapointed in their customer service. I purchased cheese in a store that then sent my order via email to Decautr dairy. I purchased on the 4^th of August. I was told it was a five day ship time. I did not recieve it until day 7. They attempted to deliver on the 6^th day, but our business is closed on friday’s.
When the box was delivered, I could smell the cheese before I opened it. My cheese curds were all melted together. I called the company and was told there wasn’t anything they could do about it. I spoke to Andrea, and she said I could just put the cheese in the refrigerator and it should be ok to eat.
I would never have cheese shipped through this company again.

I have a standing order from my wife that whenever I get to the Brodhead area, I have to stop here for cheese. My favorite thing since I was a kid was the cheese curds, especially if they have just been made! Prices are good as is the quality of the cheese. Better quality cheese than at your local supermarket and less expensive as well.

Tarnation but this here is a fabulous cheesy shoppe!
From smooth, melt-​in-​your-​mouth and fire-​fire-​on-​your-​tongue Horseradish Havarti to mild onion and garlic infused Brick. It is really all incredibly good and economical too.
You can buy fresh cream and also butter for 2 bux a lb.
Just a little storefront retail at the front of the Dairy off of county Road F.
Tip: buy some apples to go with your cheese. Cheese is very binding. Heh.

If you need great cheese at a great price, then Decatur Dairy is the place. If you are from Wisconsin, then you need cheese. The prices are better than you will find anywhere. They make most of the cheese you can buy at the little store in front of the cheese factory. It is well worth the drive from just about anywhere.
