Thorny Lea’s course is one of the best on the Southshore… beautiful greens maintained on a regular by their knowledgable staff. We’ve hosted many events in the private function rooms, including birthdays, funeral brunches & bridal showers. I’ve also attended a wedding at Thorny Lea and all I have are good things to say about the food, staff & space. The club takes care of its guests and visitors alike. If you are an outsider, however, you’ll surely feel even more like one during the busy seasons when all of the members are on their game and taking over the place they likely call «home» for 5 – 8 months out of the year.

Thorny Lea Golf Club is a great facility for a wedding reception. It has a fantastic view of the golf greens but most importantly a beautiful view of the sunset. The appetizers (chicken tenderloins) were okay. As for the banquet dinner they provided delicious large salads, yummy whipped potatoes, and a seafood pasta. They also served a mushroom chicken which was a bit dry. If you come here for an event with a cash bar make sure to bring cash because this place does not have an ATM.
