The bagels are fantastic! Best I’ve ever had. So many choices as well as the cream cheese. Also the staff are pretty friendly doubt the F word being dropped every 2 sentences, but overall, GOOD!

best bagels in the area by far. Cannot beat their smoked salmon sandwiches. Bagels are thick and fluffy. Staff are very courteous and efficient. I stop by here every chance I get!

Worth the wait, quick and exceptional service. Bagels are ridiculously good; BEC hits the spot. Only downfall is that it’s super crowded on weekends and they run out of most flavors fast. Get there early — it’s that good!

If I was a famous artist, this time in my life might be referred to as my ‘Bagel Period’.
I grew up in a town with a large Jewish population, and was exposed to bagels early on, but I didn’t appreciate the veritable plethora (been dying to use that in a review) of delis that were at my disposal. I was offered, but never tried, lox (brined salmon) and cream cheese. I have now seen the error of my ways, and I’m making up for lost time!
Back Bay Bagel Co. sits in a strip mall on route 123 between route 24 and Stonehill College. As it is surrounded by a Dunks, a Starbucks, White’s Bakery and a Panera, I used to wonder how they could stay in business. I wonder no more.
I had stopped there 3 or 4 times on Sunday mornings, but had been scared away by the huge line. As I turned away again one morning, the guy coming through the door behind me said, ‘Don’t worry, the line goes quickly’. I took his word for it, and have been silently thanking him ever since. The lines can get huge, but they do move along quickly. The staff, all kids, gives me hope for the future, because they are fast and they are good. I’ve never had an issue with any of the many orders I’ve had from there.
Lots and lots of varieties of bagels and toppings, though I tend to stick to the old reliables; sesame, poppy or everything. Their salmon cream cheese is excellent, as is the bacon horseradish (probably not Kosher!). They have a ton of sandwich options for lunchtime, as well. They also have a good selection of muffins, cookies and coffee cakes, though I haven’t tried them. If there is a weak spot in what I’ve tried there, I’d say it was the breakfast sandwiches. Hearty portions, but the eggs just don’t do it for me. I’m not sure how they’re prepared (steamed in a cup, maybe?), but they have a fake or processed feel to them. I’ve heard a few complaints about the coffee, but I’m no connoisseur and it tastes fine to me.
I’m always sure to get 6 or a ‘baker’s dozen’ bagels to go. They freeze beautifully (they’ll give you freezer bags, free for the asking) and everyone I’ve shared them with have loved them, though some have ‘complained’ that they’re so large they don’t fit in their toaster!

Great bagels. Grew up in NY and these are the closest I have found to NY bagels outside of NY.

Very good bagels and reasonably priced! My personal favorite is the Everything Bagel which is very flavorful. However the person behind the counter never cut my bagel so I had to do it myself. Can get busy during the morning hours but the line moves fast. Will Return!

Great Bagels/​cream cheese, friendly staff. I usually end up with the wrong cream cheese flavor, but it still tastes good. I just want to know why their staff goes to Dunkin Donuts instead of drinking their own coffee? Twice now I’ve seen their staff with Dunkins.

Would have been great if it wasn’t employed by a bunch of distracted college kids who care more about flirting and chatting with each other than listening to people’s orders and getting it right.

Bagels are best in this area, only problem is they sometimes run out of them by early afternoon

Only place my girlfriend and I try to go every morning, toasted cinnamon sugar bagel w/​honey raisin and another not toasted plain cream cheese and never wrong; best service hands down. Id recommend them but we get absolutely bummed out when they’re out of our favorite bagels lol.

Still gets 5-​stars. I just have to write an update because I’ve discovered the absolute most delicious bagel/​cream cheese combination in the world thanks to Back Bay Bagel Co. Just buy a dozen cinnamon sugar bagels and a tub of the honey raisin cream cheese. Get one toasted and made for you so you can eat it on the way home, but you’ll thank me later for encouraging the stock-​up. You just can’t get enough!!!

This place is worth the wait in line. Between the home made cream cheese spreads (of which you can easily grab a container to-​go with your dozen bagels) and the fresh made bagels, Back Bay Bagel is an awesome morning stop!
The most excellent thing about this place (when I used to go)? The punch card for dozen bagels — each time you take home a bag, they punch a card and you’re on your way to getting a free dozen. How cool is that?
Try one of the sammys — egg on a bagel and a Snickerdoodle coffee will start your work week off with a bang and end your weekend with a «yum».

Yup … The best bagels… Hands down. I know bagels and this is where you want to go. Add a first class operation and you have this gem. Not much more to say than that.

Love, love, love this place! The bagels are made fresh there and there are so many varieties. They are priced well and so is everything else. I love that the breakfast sandwiches come with two eggs. The only down side is that they frequently run out of many kinds of bagels and if you don’t get there before 1 on the weekends good luck having more than one flavor option. Their lunch menu looks great and I can’t wait to see if it’s just as great as everything else!

Was staying in area for a week — out of 7 days in the area, I went to Back bay almost every morning to grab hot bagels for the family. Delish soft and just right! The price was awesome too. My little ones has weakness for Boston’s famous coffee cake in different flavors. Poppy and blueberry are the utmost favorite of theirs. I had a friend who came from Long Island NY, yep if you know anything about NY style bagels, she commended on the similarity to what she are when growing up in LI. ENOUGH SAID! Trust me, you cannot get disappointed. Just go in he morning and you’d not be disappointed! Two thumbs up

Well I can never eat a bagel from Dunks again. These are some of the best bagels I’ve ever had. There is no argument these are the best south of boston. The sourdough and the cinnamon sugar are my favorite. Never got the sandwiches, just a bunch of awesome bagels. The bagels are fresh, huge, and they are an excellent value! They freeze well, and you can just defrost the night before. Seriously if you live within 30 mins of this place it’s completely worth driving here on a weekend for awesome bagels. Only downside is you will never be satisfied with a bagel like object from dunks after this.

Best bagels in Massachusetts… quite possibly in all of New England. The Everything bagel is very generously seeded, very flavorful, and pairs perfectly with their chive cream cheese.
Staff is friendly and quick too.
