It used to be good, but since a change in owner ship gone way down hill in last 2 years. I went there on monday night first time in months. I got an order of chicken fingers. The chicken fingers were bland and seemed to be refrozen, not good at all, I got food poisoning. I went there to complain because I got very sick.

Went there for our annual New Years Eve take out. Have to say, we were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. It was over cooked, cold and had no flavor. It was the worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. We’ve been there before and never had a problem… but last night was AWFUL.

This restaurant is not fancy as it is located in a strip mall, but has a nice family atmosphere. There is always plenty of parking. The Crab Rangoon is the best, light and not doughy. Lo Mein and Shrimp Fried Rice are reliably good. Waitstaff is great. Lemon chicken and Orange chicken used to be prepared differently which I preferred. Preparation is now different not as crispy, and due to that my rating is a 3 instead of a 4. Although, it remains our local go to Chinese restaurant.

This is my one of my favorite restaurant, I had Sze Chua flavor noodle with Pork it was even more authentic than the one I had in Boston Chinatown, ribs, eggplant and everything else I ordered here were delicious, highly recommend to try. Ask for Sunny he’s the owner very nice guy, he sat down with us and we talked Chinese Kung Fu the whole night, great experience.

This place is extremely overrated I’ve been hearing for years how great it was so I decided to go in with a friend one night I asked if we could sit and have a couple of drinks before we ordered food and the waiter that had to go and ask the manager if that was okay are you kidding me? then we did order food and as far as I was concerned it was just mediocre no big deal I will never go back you want good Chinese food go to Chang Chung on the east side of Brockton it blows this place away

Warning Two day old food served here. Sesame chicken hard as a rock — same with the chicken fingers. Chicken Curry comes with sautéed peppers with NORICE. You want rice? That’s extra. Curry is powdered — don’t believe the 10 spice advertisement. Will never go back! To top it off — RUDE!

The food? Well… it’s great. The owner and employees are DOUCHES! I will NEVER order from here again. Rudest interaction I’ve EVER had and you can look at my other reviews to know I don’t complain over nothing.

Have gone here for over 25 years. Usually do take out. They are very generous with their portions. Tonight I got the hot and sour wonton soup which was very tasty and had 6 huge wontons in it. Spicy string beans with white rice super yummy! Chicken wings were perfect and excellent crab Rangoon! Great for takeout!

General Gau Lunch«Special»: $ 11.95 Sprite 20oz: unspecified Delivery Charge: $ 2.00 Total: $ 18.19 + tip Ordering was painful. the woman on the line needed to have everything spelled out in the address. Delivery speed was slow, considering I was only 0.9 miles from the restaurant. Chicken left an odd texture/aftertaste. Sauce was adequately spicy, but lacked pleasant flavor. Pork fried rice was fatty chunks in tasteles rice. Overall, the price, speed of delivery, and quality of food made for one of the worst experiences I’ve had with chinese food.

The food was just ok. We called in our order for pick up. We ordered the general gau chicken combo and paid $ 14, that’s for one order! There was nothing special about the order, just plain white rice, the chicken, and a couple pieces of broccoli. What a jip! Alternatively, the staff was friendly but we absolutely over paid for what we received. Disappointed.

I used to love Chinatown but I can’t say that anymore. We ordered delivery from there while I was at work. The person taking the order couldn’t get it right it took 10 mins just to place the order. Then when we get the food it’s not hot(we are literally 2 mins away from the restaurant) and to top it off we are forced to eat it with our fingers since the did not put forks it the bag. Sub par expensive food, the boneless spareribs were horrible. I will never go there again.

We used to love this place. It’s food and service was always awesome. We never went anywhere else. Fast forward to July 2014 — The food is cold, salty, dense and reheated — It’s like leftovers that were about 4 days old. I am nauseous and sadly will never ever go there again.

This place is the worst Chinese establishment in Greater Boston. The food is cold. The spare ribs are dry. The atmosphere reminds one of an elementary school cafeteria. The manager is rude. The best part is watching the chefs argue because they are lousy cooks. If you like cold food and boring decour, this is the place for you. NOTE: Do not confuse this spot with the outstanding Chinatown at Cobb Corner.

While I’m not loyal to Chinatown to meet my Chinese food needs, I have had their catering a few times at work and the food is pretty good. It probably is one of the better Chinese food choices in Brockton.

We came here one night for our aunt’s 80th birthday party. First off, the restaurant can be a little difficult to find because there is a big difference between Oak Street and Oak Street Extension. Anyway, the restaurant is very clean and I noticed that from the beginning. We were a rather larger party(8 of us), but we actually had our own side room and plenty of space for gifts. Our server was totally awesome; he joked with us and was very efficient with keeping the drinks coming. Everyone raved about the food — from General Gao’s Chicken to Lo Mein and several other dishes I can’t remember. Me? I had steamed chicken with mixed vegetables, the«Diet Special» as listed on the menu. But it wasn’t until I was almost done that I realized it was served without the scallion sauce on the side. Oh well. It was rather filling anyway and certainly much«healthier» than other dishes on the table. I took about half of it home because it was a lot of food. I don’t particularly care for Chinese food, but when the craving hits, I will keep this on my short list.

Chinatown always used to be the place to go. It’s still okay. But, I find it to be a bit too inconsistent these days. I find their Peking raviolis a bit doughy. Some of their dishes are just too greasy and oily. While other times, perfection.

Best Chinese restaurant in the Brockton area. Reasonable prices, tasty food, and friendly service. Avoid on New Year’s Eve, though — it gets crowded.

This is probably the best place in the area to get Chinese food. The food is good, I never had anything from here that I didn’t like. The Szechuan Spicy Chicken is tasty. I only do take out from here. They do have a nice area to eat in as well. Price is comparable to other places.

A.O.K. Americanized Chinese food, which was quite honestly a huge treat for this displaced East Coaster. Living in San Francisco, I have access to the most authentic Chinese cuisine this side of the Yangtze, but some days I long for the salty Polynesian masterpieces of my New Jersey youth: flaming pu pu platters, spare ribs the color of candy apples, and the holy grail of 70s Cantonese – shrimp with lobster sauce. Oh, that porky, eggy, scallion-laden ambrosia, loaded with plump, firm, colossal prawns. Order this in San Francisco, and you will be served a watery mess of pathetic little pink things with carrots, peas, and black beans bobbing around in it. It will break your heart. Mind you, Chinatown’s version was completely foreign to me, too. Instead of a thick, eggy white sauce, the huge shrimp came in a substantial brown sauce. Still, it was quite tasty.
