Lucas Roasting Company

After driving for 15 minutes off route 81 thinking as Lucas is listed under coffee and tea, I could get a cup of coffee, it wasn’t there. This address is a residential neighborhood. Waste of my time.

I live in the D.C. suburbs and found out about this coffee from a food delivery company called Arganica (now Relay Foods) a few years ago. I was impressed with the sources of beans and how well they are roasted. Since then, every few months or so when I can afford it, I’ve been ordering beans from Lucas Roasting. I usually either get a 5 pound bag of blue ridge breakfast blend, or 1 pound bags of different coffees from around the world. It is easy to order on the website and pay using PayPal. My beans usually come within a week and are freshly roasted. For instance, today is Thursday and the beans I received today were roasted Monday. That is pretty fresh. The prices are pretty reasonable even after shipping. I would like to find a great roaster that is closer, but until then, Lucas Roasting is my go-​to for coffee beans.

I have known Lucas Roasting Company for many of years. I was in the coffee business for many years and can say honestly that Lucas Roasting Company’s Mocha Java is the best I have ever had. I think Troy and his family are one of the best coffee roasters in the Mid-​Atlantic region.
