The Bullpen Sports Pub

I wrote a review a while ago about this bar and since, my feelings have changed so much. I have to come here a few times every few months to meet up with friends because it’s a convenient mid point for us all to meet up at. Every experience has differed depending on the time so I debated a lot on the rating but decided to even out most experiences.
The first few times we came, the service was insanely slow. We were ready to leave nearly 30 minutes before we actually got to leave but they were taking forever in bringing us the check and then our change. Since then, the service has picked up a bit. Most nights, the older lady we get or the guy we get is pretty good and pretty nice.
The food is still pretty good for the most part. I still really don’t like the pizza and sometimes, the burgers are sort of overcooked. However, the sandwiches are great and most times, the Mexican food is great. The prices seem pretty good as well.
Here is the reason we decided we’re not meeting here anymore and the reason for the low rating. The last four or five times, we’ve gotten a server who had no idea what she was doing and she kept overcharging us or messing up our bill. About three times now, we’ve been charged for the wrong entrees. Three times now, we’ve had drinks mixed up badly or been charged twice for a round of shots (two people both get a bill for one round). And last time, our food has been mixed up with yet a completely different table of people. It’s always been the same girl and we’ve always brought it to her attention and she’s tried to fix it. I don’t know if shift changes cause miscommunication between servers or if they’re system is just super unorganized but we finally decided we’re sort of tired of having to negotiate and argue problems on our bill.
We really liked every other server here except the one girl and we like the place mostly but we’re having a hard time staying loyal.

Decent beer selection, friendly staff. Did not eat here but food at other tables looked pretty decent.

Nice local bar, pretty good food and drinks. Usually has daily lunch specials.

Stopped in at this local pub during a visit back to Britton, Michigan for my high school reunion. The unpretentious, laid-​back atmosphere gets 4 stars then add 3 more stars for excellent service, 5 stars for the food (ribs were phenomenal), then add 5 more stars for the band (music was excellent, see the video I posted here). The menu has a good selection of food to go with your beer of choice. Unfortunately if you’re too drunk to drive there’s not a hotel within a 100 miles (minus a kazillion stars) but the owners are very way cool and very good-​natured hosts (plus 8 kazillion stars). After drinking all that beer, you’ll probably need to use the bathroom. It’s clean, add one star. Add all this up and I think the math comes out to 17 stars plus or minus a kazillion. Oh add a kazillion for the flatscreen tv’s and tiger game coverage. I think the math comes out to 11 stars, but then again I was a Zoology major. I think you get the picture. Gotta love this place.
