Support local vendors! This place is awesome. Personable and very friendly owners. Where else can you get a HUGE fresh Italian Grinder for $ 8?!

Best grinders in RI! Extremely fresh and fast; and you’re buying local and supporting a family business. I order here a few times a month and I consistently receive the same caliber sandwiches. I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid and Goglia’s has always impressed. I usually get either an Italian or a ham/swiss grinder; both are incredible. The Italian grinder at Goglia’s is nothing like what you get at chain stores or other posers. I once ordered an Italian from a local«deli» and I got a piece of bread with salami, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Italian dressing… disappointing! But Goglia’s goes all the way with their grinders. You get several meats, plenty of fresh cheese, and any toppings you want. The«works» includes lettuce, tomato, onion, sweet peppers, dill pickles, hot peppers, and oil and vinegar. The saying around town is that when you get a large Goglia’s grinder, «there’s no need for dinner». And it’s true — I have a healthy appetite but I have never been able to eat an entire large grinder in one sitting. It’s huge at over 14″ long. Take that, Subway! Oh… and did I mention that they are only around $ 8? You’d be silly not to come here. Tip: Call ahead to place your sandwich order; at lunch time it tends to get busy and it’s much more convenient to stop in and pick up, rather than wait.

I grew up further down the street on Wood in Bristol. This place has always had the best grinders in town for the best price. Real authentic people, great food, a Bristol Classic. You can’t beat it.

The best Italian subs(aka: Grinders) in the area and an unbelievably reasonable price! They also have pre-made frozen meatballs that are great for quick weeknight meals or for big parties. Just thaw them in your sauce and they are ready to serve! So happy to be able to buy the best local pasta(Venda Ravioli) without having to drive into the city. Great meats, and other grocery /local foods. Love the«old world» market feel to this place. Nothing like the small town feeling of going to the local butcher! Best of all, I like supporting a small town business that has been around for generations. It hasn’t changed since my grandparents shopped there!

If you want to experience the way your grandparents bought grocery staples before supermarkets were commonplace, you must visit Goglia’s Market. It is clearly a local market that is eternally trapped in a time warp, circa 1950. I have a feeling that if Goglia’s is still around 50 years from now, it will look exactly like as it appears now. I just wonder how long the funky mid 1970’s 7-UP sign will remain hanging above the entrance. Most of Goglia’s shelf offerings are the most popular and basic home staples seen in larger, updated supermarkets, like Shaw’s and Super Stop and Shop. You will definitely not find the latest canned ragout creation from Wolfgang Puck on any of Goglia’s shelves; the store mainly deals with the most common of common grocery staples, such as pasta sauces, peanut butter, and potato chips. Their produce and dairy products are equally as prosaic as their pantry items. Sorry, no Maytag bleu cheese or dragonfruit from Hawaii to be found here. As previously noted by fellow Unilocalers Amanda and Bill, Goglia’s is well known for their huge, under-priced subs, AKA, in true Rhode Island vernacular, «grindahz». Generally, two regular sized people can make a lunch from one of these grinders, which are available in a variety of deli meats and cheeses, as well as seafood salad. Like a sign seen touting their grinders notes while walking into Goglia’s says, the average weight of them is 2 pounds. And yes, Goglia’s is the unofficial hangout in Bristol, here in the heart of Red Sox Nation, for fans of the Bronx Bombers: the NY Yankees. Lively and«spirited» debates between members of both sides of this heated rivalry can often be heard when the two teams square off on the diamond during the baseball season. Don’t say you weren’t warned if you happen to be near Goglia’s when one such debate is in progress,

Friendly, local corner store w/the BEST value in subs I’ve seen just about anywhere. HUGE sandwich — packed w/everything for $ 6.00. Enough for me and my wife to share. Also — great values on steaks, homemade sausage and«blade meat»(great winter time meal.) Minus 2 stars because they’re Yankee fans(and proud of it) — plus one star for being Patriot fans(not sure how that happened — but the posters on the walls show off their allegiance.)

When I want an amazing, gigantic and fresh meat-filled sub in Bristol, this is where I go. Since they’re a deli, they’ve got all kinds of meats, including bologna(which is a rarity at most sub places). I pretty much always get the ½ bologna sub, with american cheese(fresh cut deli cheese), lettuce and mustard. It’s delicious. You can get a full sub for about 6 bucks, or a ½ sub for I think 4 or 4.50. A half sub is enough to fill anyone. I usually can’t finish it. They PACK their subs with meat, seriously. Aside from all this, they’re a deli and they’re also a market, so you can get fresh local produce and groceries too. Love Goglias… except for the fact that they’re not open on Mondays!
