Just went there for a solo dinner and sat at the sushi bar. Service was bad. I waited ten minutes just to get my menu then another ten minutes before he(the server) got my drink order in. The martini was good but bartender didn’t start making it until 20 mins after the server told him. Then I ordered sushi with brown rice but none of them came out with brown rice. I ate it and it was good though I wanted the brown. Then after paying she(the other server who grabbed the bill) didn’t return with the slip until I asked her for it 15 minutes after I paid. Just very disappointing because I love their food. Hopefully next time it will be better

Solid place. Came here after a day at Lake Compounce. Went with hibachi. Service was very pleasant and the food was yummy and plentiful.

Wow. What a joke. Went in for my sons birthday. The service was terrible. The food was ok. Service was terrible. We did the hibachi and everyone else’s drink came mine did not. After five minutes I asked where it is then they brought it. When finished with the drink I had to flag someone down to get another. When finished with that one I had to go to the bar and get one. The biggest thing that was messed up is when I payed cash for the bill which was $ 97. I put $ 120 in the bill thing a ma chig. And they asked if it was all set I said No. I needed change. I was going to only tip 10 percent based on the service. They never returned with my money. After waiting over ten minutes I asked what was going on and nobody knew nothing. They basically stole a big tip out of me. Ridiculous.

Good sushi, good hibachi. What more can I say? We sat at a table, server came out right away. I got a few different rolls which were all delicious. Wife got combo hibachi dinner I tried the steak and it was fantastic. oh I also stole a hibachi shrimp which was also great! Overall good food. Only reason for not giving five stars is service. Service was decent but at ALL the sushi/Chinese places I’ve eaten their seems to be a culture difference where acting like the patron is a bother is the norm.

A staple for sushi in Bristol. I’ve honestly never had a bad meal here. Is it the world’s greatest sushi? No. Is it well made and good tasting? Yes. My kids love the hibachi as well, and going with a big group of friends is always a blast.

Went on Valentine’s day and it was crowded but ok. We did hibachi. The guy was nice but it was definitely rushed and the food was burnt. I was so disappointed. There was no flavor at all! Decided to give it another try with take out a week later — even worse! The sushi was falling apart and the rice was undercooked. I won’t be going back.

They should remove the entire Thai Section of their menu. They can’t cook any of it to slightest taste or smell of authenticity. Ordered the top item listed-pad kaprow which is Thai basil and beef sauté. It is supposed to be meat and veggies well chopped together, flavorful but with heat. It came out as soupy Chinese brown sauce. It didn’t taste bad but it was definitely not pad kaprow. Don’t even bother disappointing the customer in trying to be something you’re not. Nothing wrong with Sushi and hibachi.

This place has great sushi. My favorite is the Tempura Philly Roll. Definitely recommend it! I’ve never come here on a bad day, and I come here for lunch at least once every two weeks, sometimes more. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is good for fast or relaxing lunch. Never terribly busy, and the service is good. I have yet to try everything on the menu but with the things I have tried, there was never anything I did not like. I personally recommend their Sushi or beef items, seems to be what they are best at.

Save your time. The food is at best mall food court quality and the customer service is less than par. A waste of a meal.

I’ve only gone to Fuji for the hibachi, so my review is only of the food and experience in the hibachi area. Let’s start by saying my kids absolutely love Fuji. They have a ball and truly enjoy it. The chefs work hard to entertain you. You get a soup, a salad(I must admit the ginger dressing is horrid) plus the meat of your choice for your freshly prepared with enthusiasm meal. I always get the steak version and have never been disappointed. Always delicious.

Food and presentation of hibachi chef was pretty good! Quality of service from ‘management’ is lacking and leaves much from improvement. When a member of your party is given less than ordered. ‘Arguing’ over how much more to charge the guest isn’t welcome — especially if part of a large group. Would I recommend or return to this eating establishment — most likely not.

Their hibachi chefs are very entertaining and the food is definitely above average. I am not a sushi eater, so I cannot comment on that.

It’s places like Fuji that makes me wish Unilocal let you give .5 stars, as this place is perhaps the textbook definition of a 2.5 star place — nothing is really wrong with it, but nothing is really great about it either. I have neither had an amazing or a terrible meal there, and I guess what makes it a 3 star instead of a 2 star is just the coolness of watching the hibachi chefs do their thing. If you go in for something other than hibachi, it’s just another so-so Japanese place. Also, I’m not saying Fuji has BAD sushi in any way, but I was on a real sushi kick last summer until getting some for lunch there one day and I just couldn’t finish my plate for whatever reason. Perhaps it was just too much sushi overload for one summer, perhaps it wasn’t the best sushi I had ever eaten; the world my never know.

A rather unpleasant experience. Particularly the waitstaff. We got 5 minutes with the menu before she came over and we requested a bit more time. She seemed annoyed immediately. I wanted to ask her to give me details about the sushi they had but she the wall barrier between the room we were seated in and the rest of the place made it difficult for us to get her attention. She was no where in sight. We called her over when she finally came into our area. Again she grew annoyed when I asked her. Maybe she was having a bad day but my friend and I felt unwelcome. The thank you’s we constantly gave her were unappreciated either. The sushi was subpar. On the way out, we received a lazy goodbye from the staff.

Not a HUGE fan of this place… my husband on the other hand loves it(i think just because it is close by to our house lol) I’ve ordered many different sushi rolls here and wasn’t very impressed and i always left fearing what was going to come out of me would resemble what i put in! None of the rolls had that«fresh» taste… just BLEH and the service is always slooow especially if you order a drink. All in all i will go back but only for my husbands sake lol

The waitstaff is certainly eclectic. Expecting one thing, getting another… The cooks are fantastic and the prices are reasonable, will return. Waitstaff needs some work however.

This is 5 Star sushi with 3 Star service. The food is absolutely delicious. Truly some of the best sushi that I have had in Connecticut. The double dragon roll is delicious, as is the white tiger and spicy volcano rolls. Maki rolls and sashimi are always beautifully and artfully arranged on the plate. Their miso soup is simple and flavorful, and other traditional appetizer choices are freshly prepared and tasty. I cannot say this enough– the sushi is extremely good with exquisite and intricate flavors. The service, or I should say, lack of service, is what makes this place lose stars. Our wait staff was extremely slow, could not understand our orders(to the point that we just had to point to items on the menu) and seemed to be lost and confused in general. There were several times during our dining experience where we saw several servers standing idly around while other patrons were looking for water, to place orders, or to have their payment processed. It took over 10 minutes for me to get my charge card back after it was given for payment– it made me nervous that it took that long! It is really a shame that they don’t have their service act together because they would receive much higher stars from me, if they did!

Food arrived fast, no issues with staff. Only issue is that food was not as fresh as one would want it to be. Probably will not come back to this place,

TERRIBLESERVICE. The waitress waved her hand in the direction of the bathroom, while I wasn’t even finish asking. She occasionally came to our table to stare at us, then walk away. Personally, I can’t stand when servers ask if the food is good, but if you’re going to make enough effort to appear at our table, please say something and spare me the awkwardness, haha. Not only that, but Shakira ‘aided’ in the ambiance which threw everything off for me. Thank goodness the CD scratched before our food was served. Anyway, I ordered pad thai. It was ‘A-OK’. Waitress said«it has a little spice» when I asked before ordering, which was clearly a lie. The good news is, the prices are reasonable. The lunch special is $ 8.50 for bento boxes, hibachi, and some thai dishes. I haven’t ordered the sushi, so I can’t do a review on that. However, my boyfriend ordered Beef Negimaki, which I would of made two orders of had I known how amazing it was! He also ordered Kang Kua which is pineapple and fresh shrimp in a coconut curry sauce(more like a soup). I rented his forlk to sample it more than once because it was so good. The sweet and exotic spice blend was perfect for seafood. It’s on the Thai lunch special, which is only $ 7.25! If you ever find yourself at Fuji, go between 11AM and 3PM and order the Beef Negimaki or Kang Kua, and don’t expect a smile from anyone but your own company.
