We had them cater a baby shower today, WOW not only was the food fantastic They delivered on time. On time is a very rare thing lately. We will use them again for our next event. Oh and the price was very fair for what they delivered. Thanks everyone had nothing but great things to say about the food. C

Called to place a pickup order. The person on the phone could not tell us the total cost of the food or when the food would be ready for pickup and her excuse was there was other people waiting. When we got the food everything was soggy. Bad customer service. I recommend Taco Bell over this place any day.

This is a place I would eat at regularly if they used quality ingredients. Mexican food isn’t difficult to make, but it’s very easy to mess up! If you just re-designed your menu and only purchased highest quality, organic and local ingredients you would have a top notch restaurant. It’s so easy in this area… why? Why do you use low-end ingredients?

I love Mexican food, begin from Mexico and living in the United States, I quite often wish or hope to have some good or ok Mexican food. Sadly those are countable. Today, I was passing by the small and pretty city of Brisbaine, CA., hungry and craving to eat some Mexican food, so I go in a small Mexican food restaurant, I see the menu and it looks as they have some traditional Mexican American food. I ordered Huevos Rancheros, those would normally have two corn tortillas under two over easy eggs topped with red Mexican homemade salsa. But they served them on one tortilla. Most restaurants serve it with beans and rice, so I got that too. Sadly, the rice and beans were very salty, but the beans were spoiled. How could a Mexican born and one who cooks can’t identify the spoiled taste of pinto beans??? Well, yes!!! I can clearly identify that nasty spoiled flavor that most Mexican’s cooks can fool anyone who can’t identify that unpleasant taste. They basically put baking soda and salt to hide the nasty spoiled flavor. It’s a taste that can’t be forgotten when you’re poor and beans are the primary food in the house, and if they go bad, that’s what we do to still eat them and not waste them. Sadly, I have gotten spoiled beans at this small Mexican restaurant. And so I could confirm what I was tasting and was not wrong, I asked to have some of their boiled beans pot(frijoles de la olla), not being refried yet. If those would have the same taste, then my assumption was right! I am not writing this review to mess up their hard working job as cooks, because I didn’t eat everything they have in the menu, but it’s a message to anyone to keep an eye on what you eat in the Mexican cuisine. And so anyone can be knowledgeable in the beans taste, do this test: cook some Pinto Beans at home(a small bag ½ lb with 1 gallon of water and some salt or no salt at all). They will take about an hour or so to cook. You can buy raw beans at any market now-a-days(After you cook this pot, in your next batch, you can add ½ onion and garlic to add flavor). After being cooked, cool them down and eat a bowl. Keep them in your mouth tasting the fresh flavor of those delicious pinto beans. Then put them in the fridge, except a 1⁄3 cup and leave them outside on your counter, cover them with a clean cloth or paper towels, let them be there for a day or 1−½ days. They will get spoiled, then taste a few and you’ll know what I mean. Then again, eat some from those you put in the fridge, and you’ll know what I mean better. Then, cook the spoiled beans adding a 1⁄8 of baking soda and salt. Let them boil. You’ll see some white foam form while cooking. Let them cool down and eat some to taste. Then again after, have another taste of the good unspoiled batch, you’ll be an expert and no one can fool you from eating spoiled beans at any restaurant. Hopefully, this nice Mexican restaurant will serve fresh pinto beans!

Oh how I love Melissa’s Taqueria :) My favorite dishes: Taco Salad with shredded chicken, and any of their burritos. The food is delicious, and made quickly for our frequent to-go orders. I’m always happy to see the owner — he’s a very friendly man and makes polite conversation. He treats his customers well. I love that this is a family owned business and not a chain restaurant. The prices are OK(good compared to SF), and the inside is quaint and cute. This place has quickly become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area, and now that we no longer live in Brisbane we still make the 15 minute drive over San Bruno Mountain to buy our favorite meals on the lazy nights that we don’t want to cook dinner. We’ve taken the in-laws and some friends here a handful of times and they always rave about their food. Highly recommended! This place easily earns a 5-star rating from me. They have a bottled beer selection over by the cashier — make sure to grab a Bohemia to go with your meal!

I’ll try back later in the year. First off saw good reviews so figured why not. With 2 hungry kids walk in the doors 2 a line of 2 other guest. No greetings took almost 30 min to get seated. With only 5 paying sitting customers it was far from busy. Finally seated at a dirty table with food on my seat. Finally ordered food. I got the breaded chicken wife got taco plate .kids got Carne plate. The beans are microwaved dried out along with the microwaved rice. Carne was over seard. Tacos were barely Luke warm cheese wasn’t even melted. My plate came out super hot. so i cut into my chicken witch looked nice and crisp on the outside but turned out to be raw on the inside yikes luckily I looked before I took a bite. I wouldn’t recommend this place to any one until they step there game up and revamp the way they prep the food. I only leave negative feedback if it was bad. I hope they read this and try to fix things. Because it looked like a decent restaurant that can really thrive.

This used to be a good burrito place until one day I realized there are many other places on Grand Avenue or Mission that’s way better. I think the only reason people come here in Brisbane is that there are no options. Oh well. Beggars can’t be choosers. They open pretty late and early so I will add one more star.

I think I came on a bad night. The food was good but my takeout order took an hour and I was starving. All I wanted was my fish taco. Ordered at 633pm, did not get it until 730. I didn’t want to give such a low review since its a local establishment but just under an hour is waaaay to long for just a fish taco.

Even that I feel like I overdosed on burritos at some point in my life I still like to occasionally stop by at Melissa’s for some tacos, super nachos, chile relleno or whatever else jumps at me on their menu. I never was disappointed with the food. It’s one of those places that just belong here. Nice, simple and clean ambiance, tasty food and friendly people.

I’m a vegetarian who feels like they never have enough options, but never while here. They have tons of options and are always happy to go «custom» for me. Service is great and fast, prices are reasonable.

Get the chorizo burrito. Having lived in San Diego for a while I consider myself a bit of a Mexican food snob. Tried a lot of hipster joints in the mission and although they have great Unilocal reviews, they do not measure up to this little hole in the wall. Simple, tasty, non pretentious. Love it.

Really healthy burritos with yummy veggies including broccoli and zucchini and a delectable sauce that comes with the wet burrito! For serious spicy eaters, they have a great side sauce… that said, they could be more reasonable and not charge us the price of a meat burrito when we order our veggie burrito wet…

Tried the super fish taco and the flan. The flan was ok, but the fish taco was bland and not particularly fresh. With so many good Mexican restaurants in the area, I won’t return!

I got myself some tacos and a cup of horchata. The tacos were below average but the horchata was ok. After I finished my horchata, I went to up to get a refill. Yet, that when things turned ugly. As I start filling up my cup from the beverage machine, the dude behind the counter told me, «No, there’s no free refills. We charge for refills». He was kind of being dick about it too. Clearly, there is no «NOFREEREFILLS» or «REFILLSWILLBECHARGE» sign anywhere on or near the beverage machine. I left the taqueria with a pissed off face, and what a shitty customer service. Next time, put a damn sign that indicate no free refills. Is it that hard to post something simple? Duh, idiots.

Brisbane is just adorable. Tucked into the side of the mountain, there are several little spots for good food and Melissa’s Taqueria is my newest discovery. Ohhhh yeah, you should know this place too. My boss took me out for a little business lunch and the place was packed. We still did not have to wait long for a table. I’m checking out what people have ordered on my way up and by the time I get to the menu, it’s crispy tacos. I just know it. I can’t help but love the two salsas they give you, with the homemade chips. One blended, one pico de gallo — both a yummy distraction from the food you are waiting on. For a busy restaurant, it wasn’t that long. We order two combination platters and a couple beers. I get the crispy tacos(one beef, one chicken), both tender shredded meat. Came with salad, rice and beans that were so good I kept eating it after I was already full. I’m sitting there reminiscing about all the combination platters I’ve had and it hits me that Melissa’s is a great new addiction. I can’t wait to come back for another lunch.
