The Asian guy who works here is the most rude miserable guy ive ever met. I actually feel bad for him but had to say it. This place is more expensive then the place right down the street too.

Walsh is interesting. Despite half the store being dedicated to wine, it feels like more of an afterthought. It seems that most of their efforts are focused on craft beer — which I appreciate, as they are able to get in some fairly nice varieties(and often rarer items). If I’m looking for a particular beer or cider, especially one new to the market, this is my first stop before I roam farther. The hard liquor selection is well stocked and has a nice variety, but can be a bit overpriced if you aren’t careful.

Not a local or regular but $ 12.99 for Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc… a bit pricy but convenient location and free two hour street parking near.

TOTALLY changing my tune here. Having done business with this store for more than a year, I’ve seen how much better things can be than what they offer here. The prices are a sham. They charge about 10 percent more on every case, bottle and container than other places right down the street. Other problems with Walsh include: — Severely reduced hours — Unreliable opening and closing times — Gruff personnel — Fluctuating stock — Frequently messy store — Lack of English-speaking personnel — Reluctance to hold to posted sales The biggest issue is definitely how they handle containers. I had a sales clerk literally DROP A BOTTLE in front of me, then bag it and INSIST I had to pay for it, even though HEWASTHEONEWHODROPPEDIT. I avoid this place whenever possible. They are awful. Their card policy is awful. Their prices are awful and their customer service is nonexistent. Go to Blanchards. It’s worth the walk so you don’t have to deal with warm, broken beers.

Great store. Their craft beer selection is getting better and better, plus they post Beer Advocate reviews which is nice if you’re not familiar with something they just got in. Or just ask the manager, super nice guy. I also really appreciate these little info cards they post on the wine. I basically just go off of those and I swear now people think I know about wine! Good prices, plenty of cold beer(craft and all the reg stuff), wine and booze at every price point, spacious, friendly staff. My go to store.

Searching for pumpkin Popped in here for some spirits Too bougie for me I’m not sure what about this place turns me off. I mean, it has lots of booze. Good variety. Fancy beers, spirits, wine, nips. I guess it just seems too bougie for me. $ 10 card minimum, and a little pricey compared to what else is around. It’s worth a gander if you’re nearby.

This is me in every wine store I go to: «Hi, I’m looking for something on the dry side. I don’t like Chardonnay. What do you recommend?» The guy working at Walsh’s has probably heard me say this every time I’ve come into the store, which has been quite a few. I’m like a broken record. But since I’m a wine dope, I know nothing about wine. The guy who works here is very helpful and always has a great suggestion for me. He’s very knowledgeable when it comes to wine. Cute store, not a lot to pick from, but a good variety. But then again, how much wine selection do you really need? Maybe wine connoisseurs would think differently. Great for grabbing a bottle of wine. Bad for stocking your wine cellar. They also put on wine tastings a couple times a week, which I have yet checked out. The prices are good. I love the homey feel to it. It’s a great neighborhood spot. Parking definitely sucks in that area of Washington Street. You might have to park a couple blocks down, or put your hazards on and double park like I do.

Dicey parking, high prices even for the area and brusquely uninformed clerks… Sure it’s better than the rest of the stores in a few block radius… but that ain’t saying much… If you’re stuck in Brighton this is the best of your bets insofar as w+s go… but drive/walk/bike/bus/etc a mile in any direction if you possibly can… you’ll find better.

Best liquor store in Brighton. Since their recent expansion its only gotten better. I guess I’m a beer geek, and this place hits the spot for me. There’s a guy who works there(beard, glasses) who knows his sh*t and actually makes some really good recommendations and gets some awesome labels I haven’t seen anywhere else — try the 21st Amendment IPA while its still around. All the staff there is really nice, family owned place and glad they are apparently doing well. Typical prices. Great place!

Love this place — they’re always very friendly, have a great selection and will bend over backwards to get items into the store if you request them. Night and day difference from Dorr’s down the street.

If it’s open, this is a fantastic alternative to Dorr’s down the street. Better selection, better prices and better customer service. Whether you are interested in wine, cocktail, beer or shooters there is bound to be something for you in this store. Wine racks line the walls in the front half of the store, beer coolers round out the back half and there are shelves of liquor holding down the fort in the middle. Like a spiral of happy. The store is clean, well-kempt and well-stocked and has gained itself another regular customer.(Although, not too regular!)

Good selection, prices vary. Nice setup with wine, liquor and gift items. Nice open space with a brick wall. I also love that they always card me :-)

Went in here for the first time last weekend. Very friendly and laid back guy at the counter(who informed me that he didn’t ordinarily work there, but he was helping out his son who owned the store). They didn’t have kind of Magic Hat I was looking for, so he let me snoop around the cooler case while he searched in the back room. Then he informed me and we discussed how Rolling Rock was actually bought by Budweiser. Typical prices great service in a clean store close by. Sounds good to me.
