Not sure why this has so many great reviews. Food was bland and did not taste well. Made the drive all the way from Park City and left disappointed. I wish we’d stayed back in town.

There are very limited vegetarian options. The service was not good. Specifically, our waiter was rude and not accommodating. That said, the patio setting is unbeatable in the summer.

Great ambiance. Good wine list. Good food. Also unique cozy rooms upstairs if you decide you can’t leave the canyon just yet.

The perfect place for escaping Salt Lake City if you’re in the need for some seclusion and a good meal. I enjoy Silver Fork because over the years it has remained virtually the same. It’s warm, inviting, and adorned with decorum that makes you feel like you’re back in a simpler time. It’s one of those places that inspires you to take copious amounts of pictures because there’s always something beautiful to look at. I particularly like the patio, especially during the summertime. So while it may not boast the grandeur of the park city resorts or be the begin all end all of culinary experiences, it has a character that can’t be replicated by any amount of money. The only real gripe I have is the food is not exceptional. Not to be confused, it is very good, but certainly could be better. Nonetheless there’s a decent variety on the menu and they do make a mean cappuccino.

Came here for a post graduation luncheon. Had a table of about 11. Service was a little slow but not unbearable. Kitchen seemed slow as well but we were all hanging out so it was ok. The table ordered everything from burgers, burritos, pulled pork to open face turkey. All enjoyed and were satisfied. My burger was good but lacked the wow factor. Would come again but will not drive out of the way like this time.

WOW, What a disappointment! On a late spring Sunday drive to watch it snow in Solitude, we had high expectations for brunch on the way back. The parking lot was full(a good sign, no?) but the dining room wasn’t. There were open tables along the walls but we got a «reception area» sized table that was already full of WAYTOOMANY condiment containers. There was barely room for the place settings wrappers. The table was immediately inside the dining area, less than ten feet from the hostess stand and directly in the path for the waitstaff and bussers bustling to and from the kitchen. You would think that someone, even the hostess that was socializing(with friends? in the waiting area), would stop to see if we wanted something to drink, perhaps, or to ask how rapidly our expectations were dwindling, or SOMEthing. Nothing. After about ten minutes of constant traffic around us, my companion went to the hostess stand to see if someone could at least bring us some water. A busser brought water. About five minutes later, a waiter arrived. He mumbled though what might have been an introduction(we couldn’t make out a word he said), and then stood there motionless, looking at his ordering whizmee. We had pretty much lost our appetite by that point and considered leaving before it got worse. We should have. We placed our orders, without any eye contact or apparent attention from our waitperson, as he touched the order into his palmheld device. Another long wait. Others that had arrived after we did(and were seated at civilized tables that were open when we were seated, finished their meals and left before our food arrived. It was cold. Enough already! We asked for the check so we could get out. The waitperson acted very put off and asked if he could bring us something else, Again, we asked for the check. Again, he offered to change out our ORDER — CHANGEOURORDER. HUH? WOW. We finally got the check, paid and left. We had been there 75 minutes and never ate a bite. We are an interracial couple, in LillyUTLand.

Great atmosphere and staff. The burgers are great and affordable. The rest of the menu is a bit pricy but you are paying for the experience. Great patio seating right in the mountains.

Good place for breakfast and beautiful setting… Service was a bit shotty at first but got better once we got seated. I think that it is a bit overpriced, however, if you don’t have much of an alternative once you’re in the canyon during the summertime. Good enough to go back… Would like to go there for lunch or dinner as I’m sure it’s beautiful.

Such a cool place with lots of character! Love the décor, the patio is awesome(if not too cold outside) and has a beautiful view of the mountains. We came here for dinner right from the slopes and really enjoyed the vibe, the fireplace and the drinks. Our group ordered all kinds of items from the menu and they were all decent. What we did love was their butterscotch drink. It was so good that we had to ask for the recipe. Next thing we know, the guy who created the recipe came by, talked to us and shared the recipe so generously… I really liked this place and enjoyed our time there; only downside was that the waitress rushed us. I also noticed that they have lodging options as well at very reasonable prices! Certainly something to consider.

Good food, good views, good service. This place is fantastic! The drive here from Salt Lake City is gorgeous with great views of the mountains and trees and streams. The lodge itself also has a beautiful view of the valley and the nearby ski slopes. We came for brunch and were not disappointed. The hot chocolates come out in tall glasses, topped with whipped cream. Their hot cider comes out warm and nicely spiced(with cinnamon I think). Because of Utah liquor laws, you can’t get a mimosa until after 11:30 so we were my able to try those this visit. The servings here are quite large. I ordered the seared trout and eggs which also come with a generous heap of hash browns and sourdough toast. It is very tasty. My husband ordered the corned beef hash which was quite possibly the best I had ever had! They have good chunks of shredded corned beef over the hash browns and eggs. I also strongly recommend trying the sourdough pancakes. The come out big and fluffy, circumference about the same or bigger than your face(bigger than my face for sure but I don’t know how big your face is for comparison XD).

This is, by far, my most favorite place for breakfast in Utah, and it’s in a beautiful location. Their coffee is great, their Salmon Benedict, Trout and Eggs, and Sourdough French Toast are my favorite menu items, but everything I’ve tried has been delicious. And of course, there are their cinnamon rolls, which are to die for. If you’re lucky enough to get there before they’re all sold out, you have to order one. They are amazing. I love this place. It’s great food, and a cozy atmosphere, and in the summer, the deck is fun to have breakfast on while taking in the views of the canyon.

My boyfriend and I just went there for breakfast, and it was one of the worst breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. The French toast tasted good, but for $ 11 I expected more than just 2 thin slices cut in half. The eggs were dripping in oil and they were burnt. My boyfriend had a Benedict that he said wasn’t bad but wasn’t that good either. We left feeling very unsatisfied.

Cute place, but very unprofessional. We loved eating here and we’re planning on having our wedding ceremony and reception at Silverfork. When we showed up for a tour we were completely ignored and left after about 30 minutes and multiple attempts to get in contact with someone. I emailed them afterwords and they responded very unprofessionally putting all the blame on us. Great place to eat, but wouldn’t recommend if you plan to host an event there.

A word of caution: after a breakfast here, your downhill will improve significantly due to your substantial additional mass. That’s if you can still move/function. Our group religiously over-orders, and despite observing how severely we over-ordered on our first visit, we still did it again the second time. In our defense, we all wanted to try the sourdough pancakes but we all wanted other menu items as well. So clearly the best solution is to order a few sides of pancakes in addition to smoked salmon, egg, and bacon options. I feel a food coma coming on just recalling the spread…

I was visiting some friends in SLC and was taken here for breakfast. It was snowing and a bit cold outside, so we couldn’t eat outside — worth a try in better weather. Nice breakfast menu, with multiple combinations of typical breakfast fare. Portions are generous for the price. Items were well prepared, ingredients were obviously freshly prepared. I had the sourdough pancakes, which were listed as a favorite on the menu for over 50 years. The short stack order was more than I could handle! Very tasty, but very hearty and filling. Service was attentive. Overall, a great experience, worth a return trip.

Lost a star. Came recently in the evening and the place was freezing. Server was really nice and said what he could do but even close to the fire, it was cold. The place is a little dingy. Beautiful View tho. Fresh bread is nice but a little tasteless. The artichoke dip is full of garlic. Bloody Mary’s were delicious tho. Meh.

For everyday lunch… Get the Reuben. House made corned beef plus amazing bread and perfect amounts of kraut and dressing. I’ll say it again: Get. The. Reuben. Will not disappoint. Attended the Carol Shelton wine and dinner pairing on January 4, 2016. Was a great event with plenty of amazing food and perfectly paired wines. Carol shared her love of vinification through educating us about each varietal, yeast, storage, etc for each wine. You can really tell that she loves what she does and damn is she GOOD at her job! The price point was just right(around $ 130 for two, includes tip) and the place was packed, sold out. The wait staff and manager were warm and friendly. Lots of chat about food and wine. The other patrons were also great to converse with; everyone was having a ball! Great job to everyone and I’ll be back for the next pairing!

Although I’m giving this place three stars, my advice to you is stick with the breakfast. The lunch here, in my opinion, is pretty bad. I’m giving this place three stars for the breakfast and ambience, that’s it. The atmosphere is really great, especially if you’re new to the mountains. Everything I’ve ever tried at lunch, however, seems to be below average. Fun place to visit, especially if you’re an out-of-towner heading up Big Cottonwood to hit the slopes.

We have been going to this place for a few years when we lived in Salt Lake. We have been visiting family for Christmas and went there for brunch since that was a family tradition. I should say, that was a disappointing experience. The food we used to love, was just bad. The pancakes one of us ordered were burnt, salmon so overcooked and dry my friend had one bite and was done. We had to send 2 dishes back because they were served cold and my eggs Benedict were served boiled! We are not returning to this place. I knew they changed the Chef but the change was not for good. The one thing that remains good and positive about the restaurant is good service.

Rarely give 5’s and I’ll start my review by saying I am totally biased as this is one of my fav places to escape the valley and visit for a bite to eat. One reason is the 15 – 20 minute drive up the canyon starts a relaxation process that is unmatched in other dining options in the valley. Go up early enough for dinner to enjoy the scenery before it get dark. The food here is very good. I’ve had many things on the menu, but the Cassie salad is one of my favorites. Also try a sweet treat after dinner, many of their homemade ones are amazing and a perfect way to end a meal. If you have a function, consider renting the lower deck and party room space. I’ve had corporate meetings there as well as attended several weddings. It is a perfect space to do so and if I was ever lucky enough to do it again, I might consider this as the perfect spot for a summer mountain wedding!

This place is always busy! I’ve had a 30+ min wait each time I’ve been here(3 times). Not sure what the fuss is about this place but my wife really wants to try it. Pro’s: + Free water and coffee while waiting Con’s: — Customer service could be better(they are too busy) — Food was not very good(had a burger, fries and nacho’s) — View isn’t anything special. Just walk along the side of the road and you’ll have the same thing.

This place is usually pretty good. We have eaten here many times for breakfast. Had the trout. Had the eggs Benedict. Enjoyed the view. We just came on a Saturday afternoon and had a lousy meal with the worst service. The tomato soup was not hot, though my friend specifically requested that it be very hot. The Pepsi tasted funny, so I complained, it tasted bad a second time, but she charged us anyway, though I didn’t drink it. The fries were cold, I asked for more, they were hot but not that tasty. The coleslaw was nasty tasting — two of us had that but couldn’t eat it. The ribs were dry and flavorless. But the worst part, adding insult to injury, was the rude waitress, Soraya. She didn’t apologize for any of the problems. She said she would bring an ice bucket for our bottle of champagne, but she never did. She was just generally rude the whole time, acted like she really didn’t care, and gave crummy service. What happened to this place?!

Way up in the Wasatch Mountains back in Big Cottonwood Valley I found this rustic old restaurant and lodge. Very old school. You walk in and the wood ceilings and walls have definitely been stained with the smoke of the fireplace and cigarettes for decades. It’s very old school. As I walked in I was asked where I would like to sit and wish directed to the patio to sit in the sunlight on a beautiful day. Incredibly beautiful blue skies looking across the river to the mountains on the other side with the golden aspens that were quickly losing their leaves. The views were stunning. I didn’t think it would be so pretty out back but it actually was very very nice and warm and they have heat lamps at most of the tables in case it does get cool. My sister ordered an omelette and I ordered the corned beef hash. The portions were sizable the service was excellent I had Sara as our server. To the beautiful smile a great personality and was very efficient answered all our questions to our satisfaction. When my hash browns and potatoes arrived they make their own corn beef oh my gosh it is really a chunky portion. The pieces of meat just we’re so tender and fell apart as you are eating at. & I had mine with two eggs on top which was sort of a tradition in my house but I was not prepared for how delicious it was. Based solely on the two dishes that were served to us I would say presentation and size for value were excellent. The quality of the food was beyond my expectation and I would absolutely return for this has had corned beef hash again the next time I go up the valley.

We happened upon this restaurant by simply driving by on our way into SLC. It was very busy so we had high hopes for some good customer service and great food. Generally speaking, when I am traveling I use Unilocal reviews as the best way to find a place to spend my money. This place had 4 stars so I figured it had to be at least decent. It wasn’t. First off our 45min wait was a hour… No big deal, I have worked in the service industry and know stuff like that happens. So we sit down to finally order our food and we are handed a lunch menu. That is great if we went to the restaurant for lunch, but when we arrived and began our wait, breakfast was in full swing. So we asked the server if we could order breakfast since literally every person in the room was eating breakfast and breakfast was hitting tables after we sat down. He said no. We asked for a manager and he said he would talk to her. She again said no. After an hour wait, zero consumption of food and terrible customer service, we left and headed down the hill to another restaurant. Unfortunately I will never have a chance to eat there even if I passed it 100 more times.

Oh hey, breakfast with great views. How you doin’? Uh, the answer is actually«pretty great.» And I know because I personally experienced it at my recent trip to Silver Fork. Read the reviews. They all talk about how wonderful the views and/or atmosphere are and they aren’t lying. You know what else is wonderful? The food. It’s also served in gargantuan portions. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and maaaaayyyybe finished half. It was delicious — I just didn’t have any room left. And if I had any room I would have helped my self to one of the dinner-plate-sized pancakes Jeffrey ordered because they looked amazing. Oh well, just another reason to return I guess. Prices are overly reasonable for what you get and the people working here are just as lovely as the view.

Great food — try the sourdough pancakes with strawberries. Great staff — truly friendly people. We visited more than once during our stay, and by the time we left we were actually hugging our server goodbye. Great atmosphere — this place has been around since the mining days in Utah began, and it’s been cared for well in the years until now. If you stop by during the summer, ask to sit outside. There’s a deck with plenty of shade and multiple hummingbird feeders that are frequented quite often by tiny, winged guests. The view of the mountains is stunning. This place came highly recommended by our friends in Park City, and after just a few minutes here, it was clear why. I’m pretty sure we’ll be visiting every time we’re back in the area.

Don’t let the outside of the place fool you. We stopped here for breakfast and had a perfectly prepared dish with a beautiful view on the balcony/patio. Jennifer our waitress was very friendly and attentive, seeing that out coffees were topped and that we were satisfied. We enjoyed the hummingbird feeders that are placed around the balcony, drawing in multiple tiny breakfast seekers. Hubby ordered the corned beef hash with egg, they prepare it on site, no canned stuff. Jennifer tells us people come there specifically for this item and hubby agreed it was the best he’s ever had. My eggs and hash browns were cooked perfectly! The pricing is very reasonable, unlike the surrounding establishments($$$$). We were warned that Sunday mornings can be crowded so plan ahead.

I love this place. I have for a long time. We recently went up with some family in from out of town. If the weather is good you have to sit on the patio. Great views and its comfortable. The food is good. Not mind blowing but you go for the place and not so much the food anyway. One super cool note is that they offered my 90 year old Grandmother a blanket as it was a little chilly on the morning we went up. That is super nice of them.

Still amazing food and amazing service and this time we came for breakfast. If you like sourdough and you like pancakes you must must must get the sourdough pancakes here.
