I have been using Ms Paws for pet sitting for the last 15 years. can’t believe how there possibly be a negative review. Ms Paws has been wonderful for my cats and has never upset anything in the house. She is extremely careful with possessions and I am totally unable to believe reports such as were made. She is caring with animals znd not only that animals love her. I would recommend her to ANYONE.

Holly is the best. Ignore that negative review!!! She was my pet sitter for the whole life of my cat, and she was absolutely amazing. My Phoebe was a very difficult cat, hates strangers, does not like disruptions to her routine, etc. Holly was very patient and handled our difficult cat so expertly you would think it was a different cat!
Holly always makes the pet’s needs #1, above all else, and she loved Phoebe like one of her own. When Phoebe passed away, she was crying along with me on the phone. If you want someone who is going to care for your pet as if it were their own, this is your pet sitter.
Yes, she is quirky, but if you can overlook a few charming quirks, I highly recommend hiring Ms. Paws. Your pet will be in very good hands.

«She loves animals, there is no doubt about that. I came home to find that my cats were still alive, which was the most important thing. Past that, I was very displeased with what I came home from a one-​week vacation to find:
— A NORMAL month and a half’s supply of kitty litter had been entirely gone through
— There were FOUR trash bags of used kitty litter and pet waste left in my kitchen
— The litter box had been dismantled and part of it was left in my bathtub
Best litter box ever and very easy to use:

She did not follow most of the directions that I left and pretty much did whatever she wanted to do. The waste of kitty litter and paper towels aside, I was concerned to find that she had gone through cabinets and drawers and had pulled out several hand towels (???) and a few extra bowls for water.
She left a fairly passive-​aggressive letter stating that „Someone“ forgot to water the plants and „Someone“ forgot to clean the litter box before „They“ left (both which she wanted to charge extra for, and both were false. My flight left at 5:30 AM, so the cats may have had to use the bathroom between when I left home and when she came by that day to sit for them).
Additionally, I went through significant effort to move my car to a friend’s garage so that she could park in the space that I rent, only to find in her letter that she never used the space.
Overall, I was disappointed with what I came home to find and I will not be using her service again.»

I can’t believe that I’m the first to review Ms. Paws (a.k.a. Holly Van Hest, a.k.a. pet sitter/​dog walker extraordinaire)!
Since I’m the first to review her, here’s a little bit about her: Holly does dog walking and pet sitting in Allston, Brighton, Brookline, Chestnut Hill, and parts of Boston. She handles the usual suspects (i.e. dogs, cats, rabbits, etc.) as well as the rarer finds (i.e. iguanas, snakes, ferrets, etc.). She’s been in business since 1992, and she’s insured and bonded.
About my experience: I met Holly through my neighbor, whose dog Holly walks. Holly’s passion for animals can only be described as exuberant. She sincerely loves animals and her work. I’ve even overheard her talking to my neighbor’s dog when no one else is around– a sign of a true animal lover.
Consequently, I felt complete confidence in hiring her to petsit for my cat. Before she sat for us the first time, she came to our home and spent an hour meeting with the cat, asking questions about him, and learning about his routine. I consider myself a fairly type-​A personality, and she asked me questions I never would have thought of!
While we were away, she texted us pictures of the cat, and she left a very thorough log of each day’s visit. We were especially pleased by how much time she spent with our cat. She guarantees a minimum of a 30 minute visit, but some days she was there quite a bit longer to play with him.
I really cannot recommend Holly enough!
