THE best bar burger in Southeast Michigan! It’s my kinda place which means it’s a dive bar of the highest degree. The burgers are cooked on a blistering hot flat top grill and are just amazingly good and messy! The condiment tray that comes out with the burgers with mustard, ketchup, pickles, onions two ways, mayo, horseradish, hot peppers, cocktail sauce and more, gives you a boatload of options for making your burger«your way»! Biker friendly but beware… the parking is all gravel. This place is one of my favorite haunts year round. The bartenders are always very friendly and attentive. Give«The Cozy» a try… if you like burgers and dive bars… you won’t be disappointed! Oh, if you’re there during Jeopardy or Wheel Of Fortune… good luck on beating out some of the regulars with correct answers… those boys are intelligent and fast!!!

Visiting from out of town and this place was suggested to us, so glad we went, for the food AND the experience. The epitome of a dive bar in the country(I mean this in a good way). Décor reminded me of my grandparent’s basement in the 70’s, again, in a good way! Good beer selection, not much to choose from in the way of wine, but come on, this is a burger and cold beer kind of place! Bartender was also serving as hostess, waitress and cook the night we were there. She was busy, but extremely pleasant about it. She was kind enough to turn one of the televisions to the Illinois basketball game for us, even though State Was playing at the same time. We all ordered burgers, with varying degrees of doneness. We also split a side of fries and a side of onion rings. The burgers were great! Hand shaped, nicely seasoned and all cooked the way we specified. We loved the condiment tray that was brought out, mustard, ketchup, pickles, onions two ways, mayo, horseradish, hot peppers, cocktails sauce and more, lots of options for customizing your burger. The fries were good, hot and crispy fresh from the fryer. The onion rings were even better. Yes, probably from the freezer, but generously battered and well cooked. We will be back in Brighton this summer for a birthday celebration and will definitely be making another visit!

Best burgers ever! Little hole in the wall place, lots of locals. Great service. It’s worth stopping in.

We were pointed here by a friend and were excited to try this place despite its dicey exterior. There usually seems to be biker dudes with Harley bikes hanging outside which makes it intimidating for us average, wimpy folks. One night we got the courage to try it as the place didn’t seem busy. The previous reviewers are right on describing it as very divey. The only people there seemed to be a table of passerby bikers and heavy-drinking locals. My DH went to the restroom and was disturbed by how horrific it was in there. He’s been to the restrooms in some scary shady bars in downtown Detroit and he was mortified by the state that this restroom was in. We ordered 2 burgers and 4 beers and fries that night. We were excited to get a large juicy looking meaty burger. As we bit down into the burger, we were once again disappointed by what seems to be the norm in Brighton of bland flavorless food. Yes it was big and juicy, but the meat had no beefiness to it and no seasonings whatsoever… the fries were the standard frozen fries, but crisp and tasty. We were blown away that in this«dive» bar, we ended up having to pay over $ 30 for 2 burgers, 1 fries, 4 bottled beer. I guess this means will be making day trips to Ypsilanti(Wurst Bar) or Dearborn(Howell’s Bar) if we have a hankering for exceptional tasting burgers.

This place used to be a good, decent bar. However, recently it seems to employ bitchy bartenders catering to a young punk crowd. Maybe the owner should consider selling this rat hole.

You’re not going here for the glamorous scenery or the hot night life. You won’t be rubbing elbows with the rich and famous. What you’ll see is the definition of a «DIVE» bar, with VERY nice people working there, and an eclectic mix of patrons. The burgers and fries on the other hand, are phenomenal! I’m pretty darned pick too. We went in this weekend and I got a cheeseburger(or 2!) and fries along with a Heiny light and I was in heaven! They are supposed to have great chili, which I plan to test out next time. The place is a bit on the«worn» side, but it’s clean, great prices, and close to home. Try it. You’ll like it!

The Cozy Inn is a Brighton institution. I remember the place back when they had their old dog, Boozer. Sadly, Boozer went to dog heaven, but the burger remains, and the Cozy Burger is nothing short of amazing. Take heed. The place is a bit run-down, beat up, and loved, but that doesn’t take away from the juicy beef patty on the slightly toasted bun. And the tray of condiments! They’ve been doing it the same way since I was a kid. Horseradish, yellow mustard, white onions, sliced dill pickles, ketchup, relish, and hot sauces. You load it up as you like. Don’t forget some fries. Can’t be beat.

Ok Ok let me preface this review by warning you that this bar ISNOT the newest, fanciest or largest bar in the area. It is a «biker /redneck» bar but these are the nicest bikers/rednecks around. Burgers are large, hand shaped and grilled to perfection. Chili is homemade and delicious. PLUS you have entertainment every night when you watch the customers interact with each other. Ladies, the ladies room is very small so don’t plan on turning around in it or adjusting your apparel. It ain’t gonna happen-LOL. Guys, I can’t tell you about the men’s room so you will just have to stop in and experience it yourself. Oh, btw, that really is carpeting on the floor.
