It was a beautiful day to visit the AC fair. I heard about it on the radio and did some research online. First of all, the website could be greatly improved as it as difficult to get information about what food vendors would be there and it just wasn’t all that clear what each booth was going to be about. And secondly, it was actually pretty far from where I live but being a nice day, I decided to drive and visit. Since it was the 110th annual fair, I figured it would probably be pretty good. Parking cost us $ 5 on the weekend and it would have been free on the weekday. It’s not a pet friendly place. The website actually said don’t bring pets but many people did. It was hot and there was no shade or water for the pets. It was also very dusty so just leave them home. The fair had your standard ferris wheel, attraction rides, and food vendors. What was interesting was that the highlight of the fair was probably all the livestock people were selling. It ranged from geese to turkeys to chickens and sheep etc. Let’s just say it wasn’t the most pleasant smell around the area. What also surprised me was the lack of people. Most of the rides were empty and people weren’t playing the games. Being a Saturday noon, this place should be popping. It was unlike other fairs I’ve been too where it’s really crowded and lively. The food was good but slightly overpriced. Not gonna come back.

This fair reminds me of the ones back in the day. I felt like I got dropped back into 1965. It is just a small county fair with no cost to get in and lots of farm animals and country cowboys walking around. We went to the tractor pull, which was my first ever! Everyone was just having a grand olé time. It doesn’t take long to see the whole fair, so I recommend going to one of the evening events, like the rodeo or demo derby, or just taking in the midway. The crowd was good on a Friday evening. We saw a little boy get a giant sized piece of pizza and promptly drop it upside down. Ahh, we felt so bad. His Dad was upset but said he would get him another. What a great Dad! We had a great night. I don’t think I will ever forget going to the tractor pull!

I’m surprised there are no reviews for this fair considering that it’s been around for more than a century(according to their website) and it’s a pretty good fair. This is our first time at this fair. I went on 9News Kid’s Day at the Fair with my 1&3 yr olds and had a good time. There were lots of free things to do including bounce houses, a petting zoo, pony rides, firetrucks, etc. We stayed a good 4 hours. Wristbands were discounted to $ 11(only good from 10am — 3pm) which was a great value considering it went up to $ 25 after 3 pm and during weekends. There were a good half a dozen rides or so my 3 year old was able to ride on by herself. Not much for the 1 yr old so I didn’t get him a wristband. No admission charge, and parking was free during the weekdays($ 5 during the weekend). Parking was easy in, easy out. Crowd was a pretty good size, as was the fairgrounds. Other than the heat, it was an enjoyable day out with the kids.
