We have been going to Cameo Cakes for almost 15 years. Joyce’s cakes are always delicious and we do our best not to eat too much! Part of every birthday is an order for a birthday cake at Cameo. And… they are local. Thanks for all the years. Mitch W.

I ordered cookie favors for my shower. At first they were very accommodating, but when I saw the end result it was not what I had ordered. Wrong colors, no icing just plain sugar cookies with some sloppy colored sugar on top. I paid $ 2.50 a cookie. I should have paid the $ 3.00 elsewhere and gotten something ten times better. When I expressed that I was not happy they would not refund me anything not even 20 dollars to make it $ 2.00/ cookie. She actually got nasty with me on the phone and said that they were what I wanted. I think I know what I want! Sorry but it looked like a kid made these cookies I was embarrassed to give them as favors. My friends laughed at them when I showed them and then couldn’t believe I paid that much for something so sloppy and unprofessional. GO somewhere else! They didn’t even taste good either!!!

I love supporting local businesses. Cameo is an adorable shop in the heart of Brielle. They have everything from cookies and baked goods to cakes and cupcakes. This is a great place to stop for a hostess gift or a treat for the family. We decided on a dozen cupcakes to celebrate my son turning one month old. There was a decent selection and we picked the red velvet, carrot, peanut butter and butter cream filled ganache. The peanut butter was by far our favorite. The icing on the carrot cake was not very good. It lacked that cream cheese flavor that my husband loves. I enjoyed the filled cupcake, but it didn’t blow me away. I’m a cupcake addict and have really high standards, but this was a nice treat and I would go back to try some of their other goodies. My biggest complaint or suggestion is to make their offerings more unique. All of the cupcakes are either chocolate or yellow cake(except red velvet and carrot) with different icings. Why not add some reese’s to the peanut butter to the cake part of the cake? I think it would go a long way to making these cupcakes pop. They are beautiful to look at!
