Great location, very beautiful. The wines were truly amazing and had a wonderful flavor. They truly want to help you in anyway you wish. Select retail locations carry their merchandise and that is nice as well. Have to say I will really look forward to returning.

Bluestone Vineyards is a perfect little getaway from the Harrisonburg nestled in the farm lands of Bridgewater. We were greeted at the top of the hill in the manor by a quaint tasting room — perfect combination of homey and practical. Our tasting guide was knowledgable but still down to earth — definitely met us at our level. We went through the red wine tasting — a reasonable $ 5 for 5 wine tasting and afterwards my girlfriend chose a glass of the merlot and I took a glass of the hearty port. The wine wasn’t spectacular, but solid Virginia wine at a good price. What really gives this place 4 stars is the view. After grabbing our glasses, we sat in lounge Adirondack chairs looking out on the rolling hills streaked with winding country roads. If you’re looking for well-priced and good quality VA wine with a great venue, this is the place for you!

We’re so glad we stopped by Bluestone Winery. What was intended to be a quick tasting stop quickly turned in to a leisurely afternoon sipping delicious wine from the patio overlooking a stunning landscape. The grounds are beautiful(don’t mind the construction, they’re expanding and once you’re past it you don’t even know it’s there) and there’s no better view of the Shenandoah Valley. Loved all of the wines we tasted. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing Virginia wines, cozy atmosphere, great views, and some of the most friendly owners that I have met. Try the Crooked and Weedy red, it’s my favorite!

The owners and employees of Bluestone Vineyard were so wonderful and accommodating for a small party of 7 ladies in January The tasting experience was informational and enjoyable. The views are scenic, especially after the snowfall. Great selection of wines!

LOVEDTHISPLACE! My friends and I(a group of 10) were on a mini vacation at a cabin about 10 miles away and we stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon. This place was great. The tastings were awesome because the all the wines were delicious and the connoisseurs were so friendly and funny as well! We all had a great time. We bought 3 bottles and a few glasses and we finished every drop! The Traminette was the groups favorite! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

I graduated from college near Bluestone Vineyard right when it was getting its start, and I have been hearing good things about it so my fiancée and I decided to check it out on a Saturday afternoon. The setting is lovely and picturesque, the view pretty much embodies the Shenandoah Valley — natural and beautiful. When you go to the tasting room, there are four flights and you can elect to taste any two of the four flights. My fiancée and I are not wine drinkers, but we do love sangria and anything that is very fruity. We chose to do the fruity tasting. The people next to us decided to taste the reds and the whites. I noticed that the person pouring our wines had to read off of a paper to the man who chose to taste the reds, making me think she was new. This was confirmed when I barely got even a sip of the wines. I know this is a tasting, but when you cannot even taste the wines because the pour is so stingy? That’s not really enticing me to buy anything. Nevertheless, I think that the moscato was good, so we bought it. Plus, we were really intrigued by it because I think the lady told us that Bluestone is the only vineyard in Virginia to make their own. Lastly, I am not really sure how I feel about the basement location of this, it was not really what I expected, kind of small and I just didn’t feel like I was at a vineyard/winery just at a party at someone’s house. My fiancée also had to use the bathroom while there and being that it is in the owner’s basement, there is only one toilet. He opened the door to the bathroom and found a woman sitting on it, she had not locked the door. Once that happened, we ran out of there because it was embarrassing to say the least. I would say go for the views, do a tasting, and buy a bottle to support the cause, but I would head on down to other vineyards in the area for more of a traditional/classy winery experience.

The view is breath taking. We recently came on an overcast day and it was still extremely beautiful. On top of the view my wife and I enjoyed the wines. I’m normally not a sweet or white wine drinker but I found their moscato wine really refreshing and very tasteful. We both loved their red dry wines. Overall I would highly recommend a visit when you are in the area.

The views are quite nice of the mountains which can be enjoyed from a nice seating area outside. Dave greeted us and provided a nice tasting experience. We also met Lee, the young winemaker. Overall good wines, nice pricing and nice tasting room with views.

This is the part I miss most about living in Bridgewater! They are not pretentious like the other wineries in the area. They don’t offer food which is actually good because you can bring whatever you want. We used to go on Friday nights when they have their events with cheesey cover bands(like being at a wedding haha), bottles of wine that are around 16 – 20(which is cheaper than a bar who charges 6+ for drinks), bring your own seating, friends, and food. My absolute favorite wine of all time, not just from them, is their Crooked and Weedy. A sweet red. My mom enjoys their Beua white since she likes Moscato like wines. The setting is breath taking and the buildings are minimal so you can really take in the Blue Ridge Mountains and country side. Highly recommend!

As a couple, we stopped in on a Sunday and were delighted to see that it wasn’t too busy, unlike another nearby winery. The service we received was great and this winery offers a few different tastings, so you can select what you are interested in tasting, which is great if you prefer whites or reds only. The location is beautiful, on the side of a hill overlooking a pretty stream and mountains. They have a nice seating area outside and a comfy area inside as well, in case the weather isn’t conducive to being outdoors when you visit. Their selection of wines was nice. We first tried them at the Mount Vernon Wine Festival and really liked their chardonnay. They didn’t disappoint on this trip, as we enjoyed the chardonnay + more this time around!

You can choose 2 sets of tastings to try out of the 4 offered white, red, sweet and reserve. The sweets were excellent! They have the only true moscato in the state of va. The views are breath taking and a nice homey feel and they make you feel more than welcome there. Fire pit and heat on the patio to enjoy your wine out side.

Fantastic winery, staff, customers, location, and wine! My girlfriend and I have been getting into wine tasting and her being a jmu student heard of bluestone, well we decided to drive 30 minutes to go check it out. The very nice lady served us our tasting which was a large variety! You really feel like you get your money’s worth with their tasting. Their wine crackers are even free!(Unlike cross keys winery which has subpar wine in comparison as well) Anyway, the lady was awesome, two regulars next to us were hilarious and made the experience even better. My girlfriend and I both found multiple wines we liked whereas I usually struggle to find any. Bottom line is I think their wine is great, service was great, and their prices are great. A glass of wine, two tastings, two wine glasses, and a bottle of wine all for ~50ish dollars at a winery is a great deal in my book. The bottle of wine I purchased was full size and only $ 15 dollars whereas that would be near double at many other locations. Overall my girlfriend and I had a blast and I’ll definitely go again!

A great vineuard with an amazing view. This family owned business is operated from the home of the owners. They have a lovely patio with an outlook of their vineyard. They converted their basement into a tasting room which is where we did some sampling. They have a great selection of reds and whites; and thanks to a groupon deal through a bed and breakfast we stayed at, our sampling was free. We tried about 1 oz samples of each wine they had which was about 18 wines. I’m more into reds than whites but I really enjoyed their white wine called beau names after their dog that passed away. It had a great nutty flavor, amazing with fish. We purchased several reds as well. You must do the taste tour for this place. Really Great!

Enjoyable experience. White wine tastings only. Very good. I left with a bottle of Beau. Met the proprietor and wine developer. He was very friendly and was working the room, greeting everyone with a smile and eager to answer questions. Staff was friendly and courteous. I would recommend visiting if you are in the area.

I came here with a group of 11 friends(remember this it is important to the plot) on Saturday for a tasting. The tasting room was relatively small and had room for around 15 – 20 people to taste at a time. The tasting i comprised of whites and red and you can taste one or the other for $ 6 or both for $ 10(remember this also). I was one of the only people in my group that tried both, which makes me the wine expert in the group and a prime suspect for alcohol abuse. The whites were good, but I am more of a red wine person. My favorites were probably the Chardonnay Steel, Moscato, and, my favorite, the Beau, which is basically what you’d get if you mixed the first two. Also the Beau was named after a Golden Retriever that was featured on the bottle so bonus points for that. The reds were better, but probably only because I like reds so much more. I thought the Cabernet Franc was a really good wine. It had a great spiciness to it that I think would really compliment a red meat and vegetable dish. My far and away favorite overall was the 2011 Merlot. I usually am not a huge Merlot fan, but this one was done extremely well: full bodied with a wood finish. Our group really lucked out on the day we went because they were having a Kentucky derby party. The winery had free finger food including mozzarella wrapped prosciutto, which was a big hit among us. Also, they had corn hole set up and a horse to take pictures in front of. So why is this a three start review and not a 5. First, we are grading on a curve. If you don’t have fun at a vineyard than something is really wrong. Every vineyard I have been to has been beautiful and a great time. Compared to those this place is towards the bottom of the list. The big reason for 3 stars is once we got there they informed us for groups it was an extra $ 1 for tasting so $ 7 and $ 12. We asked why this would be and the employee said because it is harder for big groups. Is this $ 1 up charge a big deal? no. Is this the most asinine policy I have ever heard? yes. It is decentivizing you from bringing more people to the winery. Also, it was so much easier with our group than had we been three groups of four people. Instead of having people all tasting different wines she was able to go through and pour us all in a row. Also, I thought the lady pouring was a little condescending and rude to us after that. Overall a nice vineyard and a fun time, but wasn’t that impressed with the tasting room, the policies, or the employees.

I visited this winery on a Sunday afternoon and luckily my group was the only one there! The two attendants were awesome. Very knowledgeable but also very fun. The wine was great. The cheese pairings were spot-on. I know I should focus on the wine but the cheeeeese was amazing! Smoked cheddar! And a few other options. This winery is good if you just want to taste/buy some wine and maybe bring your own food and sit outside.

This was one of the most enjoyable tastings we had throughout our entire trip in the Monticello and Shenandoah regions. First of all, for $ 10 you get to taste like 20 wines AND keep your glass. WORTHIT. I love that the winemaker offers many blends as well as oak vs. steel varietals, really allowing for different palettes to find what they prefer. We loved most of the wine here and our taster was great, very personable and you could tell he really enjoyed his job. We were in a bit of a rush so we didn’t get to examine the grounds thoroughly but they looked nice(even though I didn’t see too many outdoor seating areas or a patio). This is definitley somewhere you want to stop because it will have something for everyone.
