This place closed in 2012. It has been replaced by an entirely different«spa»(different owner, etc.) called Sarah’s Spa Sensations. Unfortunately it suffers the same problems Synergy did– owner/staff who can’t handle the groupons, Living Socials, etc. Yet they still put up deal after deal. I had to get a refund from groupon because it was literally imposible to schedule my mani-pedi. Went one time for my first(set of 2 mani-pedis). It was a trainwreck. Overbooked, delayed, and just all around unprofessional. Was never able to schedule my second due to crazy limited hours and overbooking.

Bought a Living Social voucher for a mani/pedi last February. Synergy owner Alison Taglianetti, refused to schedule the service at least three times always claiming that they were«booked». Two weeks before the voucher expired, I was again told they were booked. I was supposedly put on a waiting list. Never called. Both Living Social and Synergy have refused to refund my money. Beware! I believe this place is running a scam to take your money, they took mine!

This place deserves negative stars. AWFUL and UNPROFESSIONAL does not even begin to cover it. How is this place in business? If you want to deal with an insane and rude person go ahead and try to book an appointment. You will get zero service, zero respect, and experience harassing phone calls and text messages. The manager bitched me out for trying to get my money back for a service I did not receive. And by reading other reviews, I guarantee I would have never been able to receive it. When I tried to be professional and just explain she hung up on me. DONOTEVENSTEPFOOTINTHISPLACE. The manager Allison really needs to calm down and reevaluate her career choice. Clearly she does not care to even show up to her job. I can’t wait to see this business close. I was looking for a relaxing massage, ended up with misery that lasted a week long. I am not a complainer but this experience was the worst ever.

JUSTAWFUL! I made an appointment there and was guaranteed a time slot for a very important event in my life but when I called the day before to make sure my time was set(most places call a day or two before to confirm but I didn’t hear anything from this place), I was told by a very rude woman that there was no record or appointment set up for me! Like I said earlier, I had this set up a month in advance for an important event and they just forget to write down my appointment! I asked her what happened and she tried to blame it on someone else. I stated the time and date and she then turned it back on me saying«how do I know you are telling the truth» I almost lost it… NOPROFESSIONALISM! What a nightmare this place is. I will never recommend them and you should avoid them at all costs!

I would give them NO stars if I could. This is the worst place ever… I warn everyone to stay away. I scheduled an appt two months in advance for my sister’s wedding in Nov. The day of the wedding Allison called and cancelled. I understand things come up so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I scheduled another appt– this time 3 months in advance for another wedding.(For some reason they are very unaccommodating with appt times and I am pretty certain it is NOT because they are in high demand). No one EVER answers the phone(i think because they are lazy and not really with clients). *I cannot think of anyone in their right mind that would go here.* Their voicemail gives you a number to text, which I think is kind of weird. So I do, then I receive a call back saying that if I want to use my living social deal that i have to wait two more months and that they recommend I call them to clear things up. First thing– I never had a living social deal! I end up calling and finally getting a hold of someone. i clear up the mishap and add a facial to my appt. Hours later… i start getting continuous texts from the mysterious number. I text back saying that I am sorry I cannot immediately respond to texts since I am in between clients and explained that I cleared everything up when i called earlier. I continue to receive texts and they become extremely unprofessional. The harassing texts continue until 10pm. I actually had to call my phone company and have them block the number. I had my phone company give me a transcript of the texts. I wish I could attach the document to this Unilocal post. It is so unreal! Needless to say I never went to the appointment the next morning. There are so many good spa’s in Pittsburgh that I could recommend with excellent customer service. I have no idea how this place is in business.

I tried to schedule an appointment with a Groupon I purchased and the own, Allison, was incredibly rude and unaccommodating. She refused to schedule an appointment that fit a convenient day and time for me and a friend and instead told me to call Groupon for a refund. When told how disappointed I was and asked whether she wished to keep my business, she responded rudely and reiterated that I contact Groupon for a refund. Synergy Spa and Fitness has lost my business!(Groupon, on the other hand, was incredible to work with and immediately issued a refund and promised to contact the business.
