This Hobby Lobby seems to be on par with any other that I’ve visited. Does it hold a candle to the art supply selection of say ArtMart, no. Does it compare to the craftsy-ness of Michael’s, also no. Is there any better place to find the same combination of the two in one store with a decent fabric and yarn arts selection to boot? I doubt it. Remaining lightyears away from a discussion of their politics, Saint Louis really has no better options for a store with a diverse selection of products from many different arts/crafts disciplines. Service/help in the aisles can be hard to come by as it seems they tend to always run a skeleton staff, however once you find what you’re looking for in their impeccably well organized store, you’re assured to be out of there in no time as their checkers are without exception knowledgable and proficient. I’m ususally here at least once a month and every time is a pleasure.

As far as Hobby Lobby’s go, this location is killin’ it! Great customer service, employees available for help, and stock on the shelves. This store is clean and bright. I literally could walk up and down each and every isle and be in my own happy place. Custom framing, fabric, holiday decorations, candles, ribbon, floral, Scrapbooking, stamps, kids crafts, wedding, party supplies, home décor, patio, lamps… Hobby Lobby has it all. Here is how Hobby Lobby works– if it is not on sale this week, it will be. Just come back and see. Download the HL app for a scannable 40% coupon. One thing this Bargin Hunter likes is HL markdowns. Hobby Lobby does clearance the way this bargin shopper likes clearance. Seriously, I cannot get out of this store without a full cart — ever. I find better prices and stock than the other«craft stores» in STL. Visit and see for yourself. Don’t miss this location.

The Supreme Court decision? Yeah, I get it now. This place is a piece of work. The moment I walked in, I found myself humming the words to the church hymns I grew up with; no joke, ladies and gents, this store PLAYSCHURCHMUSIC. I swear to you. If you haven’t spent a lot of time in the church circuit, it might go right over your head. Still, all of that instrumental music is church music, and you’ll find yourself humming along to it if you recognize anything lol. Add to that the asston of religious merchandise in the store and, yeah, it all makes sense now. Anyway, their store, their set-up, and if I don’t like it, I can shop elsewhere. I get that, and I completely believe in that. The overly religious, tacky atmosphere is only worth knocking a half star, in my opinion. The other two and a half stars? Their ridiculous prices. This place is extremely pricey. I wound up buying what I needed from Michael’s, who had a much nicer selection to begin with. Six dollars for a can of Rustoleum? Three to ten dollars for non-foam-backed, one-dimensional poster board? Uh, no. Definitely won’t be back. This store was as tacky as it was pricey.

I am one of those people; one of those people that decorates their desk for each minor holiday and leaves candy and breath mints for the masses. I love being festive but just because I have candy and treats doesn’t mean every time you come by we should have a 15 minute Seinfeld talk about nothing — feel free to grab and go. So I needed some new updated Thanksgiving chotchkies for my desk and found myself here. I just left another place in the area and couldn’t find anything and another customer alerted me to this location. I thought Hobby Lobby was just for scrapbooking and things like that but there are lots of cool things in here. Also knowing about the Owners political stance on female issues — going here was never a thought. I’ve never been in a Hobby Lobby and I’m very pleasantly surprised. There is an area for custom framing and it’s not just those cheap plastic frames, they have wood and metal varieties with actually nails involved. They have a fabric cutting section and lots of other holiday accouterments. It’s a very good clean location and not all jumbled like some of its counterparts. The young ladies working there could have been more attentive but I could tell they were really young. They also have coupons and many things for fall were marked 50% off(not old stuff they wanted to get rid of but good stuff). If you are looking for light home décor, wedding stuff, crafting items, party favors, or just the extra something that you don’t even know you need this is a great place to come.
