STAY AWAY!!! Rodrigo (owner) appeared to be a very nice guy when he came out to give us an estimate. Mr. Nice guy is simply careless, his work is sloppy and unprofessional. I hired Rodrigo to refinish the floors at a vacant property at the time, so he had NO interruptions and no pressure. Rodrigo even had access to the keys. This should have been a breeze. Instead, it was a nightmare!
Rodrigo was supposed to put down 3 coats of poly per agreement. After a sloppy first coat, he lied and said he was all done. When I called him on it, he said he applied a sealer (to which he declined earlier because the job was too big). I went to check out the floors and I was shocked! The floors did not look good at all. There was shavings in the poly everywhere and areas missed by the roller, dull spots, shoe prints and light scratches. (light scratches suggest that certain rooms were not prepped properly or poly was not applied.).
It didn’t take much for Rodrigo to agree it looked bad. He states, «My name is behind this work, I will fix it and make you happy.» He then showed me all the contracts he gets from Greenwich, Westport and Stamford as to suggest his quality of work is superior.
I stopped by the following day (with Dunkin Donuts coffee and water for everyone). I was shocked to see the workers buffing and applying poly so soon after the 1^st coat. I called Rodrigo and I was told, it is fine to apply because it dried overnight. I later found out that it was No true because there were more shoe prints in the poly. I was also devastated to find out that after applying the poly by his workers, they left the front door open overnight. It was 30 degrees during the night, the heater worked overtime and the floors were ruined. The poly bubbled throughout the 1^st floor. I also have lots of flakey spots on my floor. Rodrigo never took responsibility for what happened. However, he agreed to come back and touch up areas and agreed to leave some poly with me for touch ups. They showed up about 7pm and rushed through the house. Lots of areas were missed and they never left the poly as agreed. I attempted to call Rodrigo numerous times but he has not returned any of my call. At this point, I only want the name of the poly so I can purchase it for touch ups. It has been a little over 5 weeks and I still have not heard from him.
So far, I have not been able to match the poly. Please save yourself the aggravation and stay away for this guy/​company. They are sloppy crooks!
