Had a service call for a noisy, but working, Amana a/​c-​heat unit. Serviceman took the unit apart, determined the noise was from the fan that cools the compressor and put the pieces back together. Within 2 – 3 minutes of his leaving the entire unit stopped working. No a/​c for me! They refused to take responsibility for blowing out the compressor («…it was working when our service man left…»)
