Shout out to Shannon and her team! They were very accommodating and cater to all my questions/concerns. Friendly environment. Prices are very reasonable. Great selection of handguns and targets. Will definitely go again.

The range has everything one can need. The prices are fair and the staff is extremely professional. I liked renting and trying out different pistols.

I have to start off by saying this is one of the better ranges in Connecticut. It’s a very clean facility that has 10 lanes which go out to 50ft. This is a very laid back environment that allows rapid fire and aluminum/steel case ammo. They’re open till 7 pm on the weekends which is ~2 hours later than others. The staff members are friendly, courteous, and accommodating. At one point the range officer gave advice during my session which improved my skills immediately. Unfortunately I didn’t like the parking situation or the single door to the range.-(it’s very loud at the front desk) I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get some quality range time. After my pleasant experience I’ve decided that I will become a member at BSR.

It’s the closest range to my apartment. Probably going to join as a member soon. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. The range is always well maintained. Every time I shoot there, there is a staff member sweeping up shells every 20 minutes or so. They have a nice selection of handgun rentals across all calibers. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that they don’t have a double door to the range entrance. If you’re hearing sensitive to begin with it can be frustrating, while you’re at the check in/out counter and someone opens the range door while someone in lane 1 is firing off a .357

Just took(and passed!) my guard card class today. The woman working the front desk area was really nice when I came in, and the instructor for the class was incredibly helpful and thorough. The 8 hour day did not feel that long at all. Highly recommended taking the guard class here, I’d go back here for any other training any day.

Me, My Wife &15 Year Old Son took the CTPISTOLPERMITCERTIFICATION this weekend on Sunday the 12−14−14. Great Class, Great Range and our instructor Nancy was also GREAT! Here at Bridgeport Shooting Range you can have your kids get in for HALF-PRICE on this course. The course is 9am to 5pm, so come on time it starts immediately at 9am and bring lunch, you break for lunch at 12 for 30 minutes. The course goes over everything from doing dry runs of loading to unloading in class room of a revolver & semi automatic hand gun to videos of do’s & don’ts to preparing for the exam with a slide show presentation on a screen and finally live fire test of the revolver and semi automatic handgun on the firing range. You need to place 12 bullets on the Target to get your certification. Now here comes the best part, once you pass this certification you are allowed to come to BSR and rent guns and firing lanes to practice shooting or take more classes of more advanced shooting skills while waiting for you permit to carry, or if your are not getting the permit just come and rent and have fun with your family. My Wife & Son who had never had gun experience were so empowered by this class. I can see the difference in their attitude that they feel very comfortable and safe with the handling & shooting of a firearms now. I thank Nancy a lot for spending the extra time with my Wife on the live fire of the handgun part of class in the firing range while she was shooting the target, this really gave my wife the confidence in holding the gun and aiming correctly which she needed to be proficient in gun safety. This is a must course for any Family who is considering purchasing a firearm for your home. Your family needs to be safe and feel confident on the use of a firearm if you choose to own one.

Top notch facility. One of the better ones I’ve visited in the tri state area. Great thing about this place is that, aside from hand guns, you can shoot long guns in all sorts of calibers, and they also accommodate shotguns(so long as the shot is lead). Another plus is that they rent both hand guns and long guns, though you’ll need a pistol permit(or you’ll have to take an 8 hour class) to rent the hand guns. If you forgot to bring something, they offer all the accessories you may need. But I(and they actually) recommend bringing your own ammo since you’ll be able to get it cheaper online. There’s also a gun shop on the premises in case you’re looking to buy. Finally, they have a nice size parking lot right out front, and that’s a good thing since the area looks like a total run down dump. Wholeheartedly recommend these guys!

The Bridgeport Shooting Range(BSR) is my new home away from home. For those of you who just want a quick review, here you are — go here for all of your training needs. They have a tremendous offering of classes for all experience levels. For those who want more detail, let me tell you a story… my wife and I bought our first gun 2 years ago. We bought it from an establishment that is/was known for not being the most welcoming and helpful. As a result, we were uncomfortable with our gun and it sat — unused — in the safe for a year and a half. We did not go practice or take lessons, as we only knew of the unfriendly place. Six months ago, tired of not being comfortable with our gun, I started looking around and found BSR and their offering of classes. We started slow and took a class on pepper spray — a class I recommend for everyone. We took a class on the fundamentals of shooting. This is a class that builds your shooting position from your feet to your grip to your breathing to your trigger control. We took a class on self defense and firearms laws to learn our rights, responsibilities, and potential liabilities.. We took an intro to shotgun course. Most recently we completed the third and final class in a series called Defensive Pistol, which gives you more real world applications of using your firearms in close range and stressful scenarios. BSR is the place for you if you want to: — be more comfortable and confident with firearms — be a better marksman — learn how to defend yourself with a firearm I can confirm that instructors David Salthouse and John Ritchie are both great instructors with a passion for teaching and making sure you have an enjoyable time while learning. Owner/instructor Paul Smith has a tremendous establishment that we like to visit for classes and for range time. All of the employees have been very helpful and courteous with us. I HIGHLY recommend this establishment and believe in their motto of «Failing to train is training to fail.»
