Radio Shack has been at this location since the 1970s, and by and large it WAS a pleasant place to purchase electronics until their recent reorganization with a wholesale change in staff. Where you once had pleasant, informed retail employees getting their geek on with customers and enjoying it, you now have what I can only describe as embittered staff who must hate their job, their lives, the clientele, or all of the above. Case in point: I returned to exchange an HDMI adapter which didn’t fit my laptop. $ 20 item. The guy marched over to the shelf, grabbed a $ 54 doojigger and then tried to up-sell me on it while acting resentful that I had the temerity to look at the shelf for a cheaper alternative. When I explained that his(rushed, high pressure) solution still left me with two female adapters and no male, voilà! add another $ 20 cable to help with sound! I didn’t need sound; this is for a projector slide show. When he replied«Oh! THAT’s what projectors do?» I decided the exchange was off, and a refund was in order. I ended up buying what I needed on Amazon for $ 17.99 with free shipping, sans the derision and oily fast talk. You don’t walk into a retail environment and support local business to get insulted and pressured.
