Been here once before, not coming here back here ever again Started off decent, then just to go downhill from there. Came a bit before dinner time, not too busy, and the food came out at a timely manner. Entrees weren’t too impressive. Ordered the shrimp tacos and enchiladas. Nothing special, incredibly overpriced, a couple dollars more than what you would pay at any other Mexican joint. Biggest complaint was the service. After the food is on your table, you become a ghost. The waiter will completely forget about you. We waited and waited for the waiter to come back to box our food and get the check, but it was hopeless until finally I got up and asked for it. It was relatively busy, but not busy enough to forget about a table for over 30 minutes. I even saw a older couple sit down, then after minutes went by with no service, they decided to walk out the door highly disappointed Do yourself a favor and stay away from here, unless you have hours to spend for lunch or dinner, and don’t mind endlessly waiting for overpriced mediocre food, then you won’t have a problem here

Went there tonite. Service was terrible. Food was almost as bad. Skirt steak was paper thin, rice was dry, sour cream was watered down. Oh, did I mention the service’ was terrible. They only gave you three tacos with the fajitas and charged you if you wanted more. All in all, I should have stayed home and watched the football game

I might not have gone if I had read some of the reviews first, but we were ordering plenty of margaritas(and they were really good), and the servers were very friendly to us, maybe because of that. The food was pretty good — I’ve had better but I’ve definitely had a lot more disappointing fare. Indeed the only thing that sticks in my head a couple of days later as being a bit disappointing was the beans — they were kind of bland — the rest of our orders — enchiladas, taquitos al pastor, and some kind of steak — all did the trick. And you can’t ever really go wrong with fresh guacamole. Making it tableside is a bit gimmicky, but it did help me tweak my recipe at home, I learned a trick(muddle everything before you at the avocado, and add tomato after it’s all mashed…).

Poor customer service, don’t buy a gift certificate here, they have expiration dates… I used only half a GC that was given to me when I ate there the fist time… well the Gift certificate expired and they wouldn’t honor it. Just so so Mexican, the noise level is loud. Won’t be going back — Maya Riviera in Briarcliff is better.

So so food, higher than normal prices with somewhat slow service, even when the place was empty except for one other couple. We’ll keep looking for good Mexican food in the area.

Last time I crossed into Mexico I was mugged at knife-point for thirty American dollars at a Nogales bar and shuffled back across the border the next morning with a severe tequila hangover and a fractured big toe. I had a fantastic authentic meal before things got«fuzzy” — and I always, always remember a good meal. I have no idea about the toe. Zero recollection. The wonderful news is that we can get delicious Mexican cuisine right here without the threat to life and limb. You also won’t spend the following morning crawling about the floor of a shabby hotel room with no air conditioning(which may or may not harbor scabies parasites). Guadalajara is good. Traditional Mexican dishes prepared with top notch ingredients… and probably love. I’ve been a few times now and the main dishes are consistently above average. The portions are large and the staff is always super friendly and quick. If you break your toe here in some inexplicable and mysterious way or are robbed by another patron, the staff would most certainly console you in a genuine and attentive manner. They are the real deal– so if you know Spanish, use it. The Enchiladas Suizas and Enchiladas de Mole with chicken are my go-to favorites. The green tomatillo salsa and mole sauces are impeccable. I would probably buy a barrel of their tomatillo sauce if I could… just eat it on my Cheerios, on sandwiches– whatever. It’s that good. If you prefer beef try the Carne Asada con Rajas. The beef is super tender and smothered in sweet sauteed onions and poblano peppers. I personally find the dirty rice served with the meals to be pretty weak– but who knows, maybe you’ll like it. We’ve had the chicken nacho appetizer the last two times, but it wasn’t the highlight of the meal, so you may want to go a different route. Free chips and salsa are always served, so it’s easy to forego the appetizer anyway and just munch on those while you settle into a few drinks. Enjoy yourself. Go crazy. Nobody is going to harvest your kidney and leave you in a bathtub of ice should you overindulge(I assume?). Even if they do, there’s a reason you were born with two. A great meal is always worth a little risk. Live, damn you! Live!

I visited Sleepy Hollow this Week-end with a friend. We came upon this restaurant, as we were sightseeing and decided to eat dinner here. It was the best Mexican meal I have ever had. The menu is extensive and it took us a while to make a decision. As the entrees were being served to other people, we wanted to taste it all. I decided on a Chicken with mushroom gravy which had a variety of vegetables that included, broccoli, yellow and zucchini squash, carrots and mushrooms. DELICIOUS! The corn chips as well as the salsa was home made and was standard fare with all of the meals. Best I have ever eaten. I have no idea why this place has been given low scores by visitors. The service was not immediate but quality food takes a bit longer to prepare than processed crap at Taco Bell. The wait was about 15 minutes. Big deal! The waiter was very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice. I have eaten at many Mexican restaurants and this one outshines the rest

Great place, I do wish an appetizer of nachos and cheese were larger, for a group of 5 it gets killed in a second

The only reason I give this place one star is for the table side guacamole. The server made it perfectly(we asked for medium spicy) with the perfect amount of salt. Our server was very good and attentive. But, these two things couldn’t make up for the HORRID food. We ordered enchiladas suizas and crab quesadillas. They came out of the kitchen in 3 minutes, were clearly dumped out of a can, had no flavor and weren’t even hot. I happened to stop at a Starbucks and the person there recommended the Taco Project in Tarrytown. Always listen to the locals!

I’m used to having Mexican food in Los Angeles and Tucson, which I can only assume is the some of the best Mexican in the U.S. Guadalajara’s food isn’t as good, but it’s just fine. Does the job. I would go there again. The ambience is also very nice and the staff was pleasant and efficient.

Worst service I have ever received. The food was ok, charged $ 30 for guacamole. Had to keep asking for the check and for food etc. Waste of time, go somewhere else it’s not worth it.

Once considered a top of the line Mexican spot Guadalajara has gone downhill fast. Stopped in for lunch — seated outside we were immediately forgotten. No question staff was short as I inquired within concerning lack of service. Orders finally taken we sat back on rickety chairs(with a ridiculously small table) and enjoyed the fine spring breeze. The starter chips were fresh — the salsa acceptable though portioned small. We shared the ” Botanita Guadalajara”. A bland, dry and very cold assortment of nachos, flautas, chimichangas, guacamole, quesados & chorizo. The Red Sangria was disappointing as well. Lacking in flavor and a bit too strong it was consistent with the rest of our short meal. The restaurant itself — looking dated — has seen better days. The clock is ticking…

This place has a nice patio, although not a lot of seating out there and we had a large group so were seated inside. The seating is all upstairs. The restroom was clean. The food was mediocre and expensive. $ 20 for three taquitos is a bit much. The food on the whole is pretty bland and the steak was really, really dry. Customer service was another problem. It was obvious the server was annoyed we did not order more. We were a big group and a few of us did not order drinks. He was pushing apps for the table and we ordered nachos and one guacamole made table side. He kept trying to convince us to get two orders and said one order was meant for two people. When the guacamole came it was a huge bowl big enough for four to five people. Good thing we didn’t listen to him! Having said that, the guacamole was really good. What bothered me most of all was the tiny water glasses. Several of us asked more than once for a larger glass for the water and we were all ignored. The servers literately said nothing as if they did not hear the request. I had to have the tiny glass refilled about eight times throughout the course of the meal. We had a good time, but I wouldn’t go back.

Not too satisfied with customer service. The food was good but it felt as I was being watched the entire time. I asked for water and was given it in a small glass as if I was a child.

Seriously deliciously amazing. Strongest margaritas ever. You seriously only need 1. I highly recommend the raspberry flavor! Warm salty chips on the table to start. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Anyone is willing to assist you at any time. Doesnt even need to be your waiter or waitress. Best guacamole too. Comes in a cute clay bowl. The food is amazing too. Chicken or skirt steak quesados, cheese quesadillas, taco salad are just a few to name, but the overall winner is the fajitas. This is a must try place! I cant believe i never went sooner.

Ohhhh… OHHHHHHTHEGUACAMOLE!!! I would come here for guac and drinks alone. Other than that and you are looking at a hella long wait and just average, per the usual mexican food. Everyone in our group that went seemed to enjoy and eat most of the grub but hot damn, it really did take way too long and it was only ‘OK.’ I had the seafood fajitas and some of the undersea meat, well, it was a little too fish fiesta for me. I did enjoy the scallops/mussels/clams when I packed them into a soft shell with rice beans and other flavor blasters. The rice and beans tho… they were sad. Oh so sad. Barely any flavor and needed some help from their buddies adobo and cilantro. SOMETHING! Legit tho, my mouth is pooling with spitty spit thinking of the guac. Just go for that alone and you will be golden. Pair with a Dos Equis… You da man

This is one of the better Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. The food is tasty and there is a large variety. I usually stick with one of the combo dinners which can usually has a combination of tacos, chimichangas, burritos, or quesadillas. The menu has a lot to offer but not so much that you’re overwhelmed. They make guacamole fresh table side which I thought was a nice touch. Some drawbacks I’ve experienced is the place can get pretty loud, especially when it’s packed and I’ve had both good and bad experiences with service. The servers are attentive to you but they can be a little impersonal. Be that as it may this is still one of my favorite Mexican restaurants and I will probably be back.
