John C Murphy Moving & Storage

I had an awful experience with John C. Murphy Moving & Storage Inc., and I would NEVER use them again. They gave me an estimate based on old information from a previous move, even though I told them several times that I had fewer things to move this time. They sent a crew that was obviously inexperienced and several of the men didn’t speak any English, which made it impossible for me to communicate with them as to where to put things (even though they were clearly marked). They didn’t know had to park the truck in order to get close enough to my house, their packing was half-​assed, they put things in weird places, like my grill is in the basement. The move took way longer than it should have due to their incompetence, and I was charged more as a result. At the end of the day, the foreman had me sign the Bill of Lading, and assured me that no charges would be put through until I had a chance to speak with the office (it was Sunday). The next day when I logged onto my account, all the charges had been put through and I’ve been fighting with them ever since. The whole experience was a complete nightmare from start to finish!

I contacted John C. Murphy Moving & Storage Inc. last week to come out and give me an estimate on a local move. When I spoke with Geraldine (who was actually nice) she said that someone could come out either Saturday (3÷29÷14) or Sunday (3÷30÷14) to meet with me and give an estimate. I have a rather substantial move and needed to get a moving estimate pretty quickly. I told Geraldine that either day worked for me so she scheduled me for Sunday from 11am to 1pm. It is 5:25pm on Sunday as I right this review and as of now no one has shown up or called me. I have called their provided telephone number and sent them an email to inquire as to where their representative was, but have not received a response. Basically, I wasted an entire day waiting for these guys. I am now having to go on another Moving Company search. The process of waiting around for a company rep to not show up is extremely irritating as well as putting me behind schedule. Needless to say, I won’t be using John C. Murphy Moving & Storage Inc.
