LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS! Nice owner, but the haircut was one of the worse I’ve ever had. I asked for a «bald fade», got an uneven visible line all the way around. And with a razor, the crooked line was very noticeable. I asked for a «little off the top», and he took my hair down from a 6 to a 2. When I got home and washed my hair, I noticed long hairs everywhere that I had to cut down myself.
This place is a «walk in» barber shop, which is nice, and the wait wasn’t long (maybe 15 mins). There were 3 ahead of me. He was done with my cut in under 5 minutes. Seems like this place cares more about getting customers in and out fast versus quality haircuts. If you need to have your child’s hair cut, or you are balding… this is the place for you. The price is average, $ 19.

This place offers a «razor fade» but cannot complete one with out cutting you a bunch of times. I did not get what I asked for at all. You say what you want and he does what he thinks is best, and then proceeds to tell you why it has to be that way. Incompetent and unacceptable. This guy (THE OWNER) smells like marijuana and you should not take children here ever. Unless you want to show them what pot smells like. I wish I could give zero stars. Will never recommend. Will never go back.

The WORST haircut ever! I came here after seeing some good reviews the first thing I say is «very light off the top, Veeery light» first thing he does is take so much hair I can’t even comb it. Then at the end of the hair cut he leaves so much hair behind I can barely see if it’s faded in correctly. I get to my car and notice botches of hair and the hairline on my car mirror. I go back for him to fix it only to have him cut up sooo much higher as he attempts to fade. I could have gotten a better cut at a barber college. Definitely not worth the 22 $ I paid! Never will come back again

This is the only place I let cut my hair. They are the best around. I enjoyed their humor as well. Really friendly place.

I took my two sons into the shop after having received horrible cuts elsewhere in town. My 12 year old went into the other barber shop asking for a «Neil Patrick Harris» cut and left with an Alfalfa style from Our Gang. It was horrible. We went to Brandon, at the suggestion of an acquaintance, and I am sure glad we did. He fixed the cut as best as he could, but it was shorter than needed for the style my son wanted. He looked good when he left, but now that it has been a few weeks, the style is perfect, exactly as he requested. The sign of an excellent cut, is the quality of the cut as it grows out. My son could not be happier. He looks like himself again. When Brandon finished with the older boy, he fixed the cut for the 6 year old as well. We are new to the area and we will be regulars at The Barber Shop from now on. Thank you Brandon!

This is a good olé fashioned barber shop. I got a classic men’s haircut that looks very respectable. The gentlemen cutting hair were extremely friendly. My haircut looks good though it isn’t exactly what I imagined. I blame myself though for not explaining myself very well at all. I really enjoyed the experience, especially the hot shave with a straight razor. I will be coming back for my next haircut.

5 stars for Blanca. I don’t have much hair to work with, but she does a great job. My wife likes it, which helps a lot. The real treat is the old school shave. It’s not cheap, but it’s the best shave I’ve had to date.
Shaving my face without cutting it is a challenge. My facial hair is thick, but she has a great touch. She takes her time and gets it smooth. Nice personality, always smiling and laughing. Oh, then a quick neck & shoulder massage. I was like, ‘whoa, nice surprise’.

This was my 3^rd time here and there won’t be a 4^th. Walked in with my son and we both walked out with horrible hair cuts. Brandon I’m guessing the owner cut mine. I asked for a shave and hair cut and got scalped. I only wanted 4 on the sides and evened up on top and I came out with a buzz cut. I asked for my mustache and goatee area to be left alone and just blend the sides with the hair cut. I got a full facial buzz. Didn’t ask if I would like a tapered or blocked back, jus got blocked up way past the natural hair line.
Now on to my son, he asked (the guy who’s chair is in the middle) for a 4 on the sides and shortened up top. He got buzzed on the sides and pretty much left alone on top. When he tried to comb over the top I asked my son if it was to long on top, he said yes. I could see the look of frustration come over the barbers face as he picked up the clippers and had to shorten it up. Unfortunately he did the touch up while my sons hair was still combed with product in. When I asked the barber how it would look if my son didn’t comb his hair as it was cut he said «like crap»!!! Are you kiddin me!!! Then proceeded to argue with me and call my son lazy for not combing his hair everyday.
If your looking for your standard high and tights or quick clipper buzz cut this is your place. If your looking for a little attention to detail and some what of a style look somewhere else and save your money…

I have been coming here for years. Great place to get a hair cut and catch a few laughs.

Should have listened to the other reviews about the quirks of this place. Didn’t ask how I wanted my cut, just started chopping, so I figured he knows what he is doing. Turned out okay, but no attention to detail one comes to expect from a good barber. $ 19.00 is pretty steep in my opinion. I won’t be back and cannot recommend. Décor is nice and location is good, also open on Mondays.

We get our haircuts here. Myself and my son. Blanka is my Favorite. Been a Fan Of Blanka for a very longtime! This barber shop is very accessible in the downtown area. It is very clean and an Upbeat environment. I would recommend this place to everyone.

This place is usually busy which is a good sign. Was immediately greeted when I walked through the door. Friendly barbers and attention to detail is exceptional. The straight razor clean up and neck massage is amazing. They care about their customers and their needs. Good old fashioned service and atmosphere. Brings me back to the good ol days. Recommend this business to anyone looking for top quality service with attention to detail.

Blanca did a really good job with my hair, it’s exactly how I wanted it! Everyone there was very friendly and I got my money’s worth!

I have been coming to see Brandon for about a year now, and I have to say Its the best hair cut in town.
I really appreciate how detailed he is, he takes his time, does it right, he’s friendly and takes an interest in his customers.
This is my first Unilocal review, I’m not very into reviewing online, I feel like most people now a days feel too entitled and are harsh with reviews. I only happened upon the Unilocal score and read the negative reviews… Seems like a bunch of bull to me. So I felt compelled to go through the trouble of making a Unilocal account and reviewing just to stick up for this place. I couldn’t tell you about the quality of the other barbers in this shop, but Brandon, you just dont get better than him.

Jerry and Blanka are the bomb! If you need to get a great cut by someone who actually cares and loves their craft, go see one of these two. I’ve gotten everything from Mohawks to fades, and if they are done by Jerry or Blanka, I always look fresh. This is the spot.

I don’t really recommend this shop. I’ve been to quite a few different barbers looking for a good one & after experiencing some good & some bad, I feel like I know what I’m talking about.
My main beef is that they don’t really seem to listen to what you want. I’ve gotten my hair cut here 4 times… Each time thinking i’ll give it one more try. Well after 4 disappointing cuts I’m pulling the plug.
It looks like some of the previous reviewers had the same problems as I did. Barber not listening, hair cut much too short. disappointing experience.
After paying $ 20+ dollars for a $ 10 cut a few too many times I say no more.
Take you hair & your money somewhere else

Was in town looking for that Old School Barber Shop experience. Tried a couple on Main Street — they were booked. Stumbled upon this one.
The good: Nice guy, comfy chairs, decent looking place.
The bad: The cut. I start with 3″ on top and ½ inch on sides. That’s grown out, hence the need for a cut. I like it long on top kinda faux hawkish, short w/​o showing skin on the sides.
SO I sit down and he asks, with clippers in hand, «So you wanna fade it up?» I had looked at the customer before me, whose sides were bald, and I started to say, «Not that short» and mid sentence, this cat is cutting the top of my hair freehand with clippers. Told him, «I wanna keep the length on the top.» He says, «OK» and continues.
I’m facing away from the mirror the whole time. He continues to tell a story about how when he was a kid, his grandfather would give he and his brother military-​grade flat tops. His dad was pissed. I told him I’d be pissed too.
So he finishes the cut, I pay him $ 25 for a $ 19 cut. I’m thinking it’s short as hell, feel like puking, but I did go into a barber shop.
Then I go home. Time to look in the mirror. The shorts part is nearly bald and at the CROWN of my head. Yes, it was longer below, to the sides, forward. Shortes at the crown. I have cow licks and I guess dude just wanted to cut them out.
Worst part was that the rest wasn’t even close to even. Really bad fade. My teenagers were laughing.
Plugged in my trimmers, pulled the guards off, grabbed a hand mirror, and faded it up right. My 14 year old son says, «Now that looks good.»
It’s short, but hey, I have the respect of my kid ;-)
Bottom line: He knew what he was going to do no matter what I wanted. And, what he did, was really no good. Cannot recommend this place. Wish I got a name, the others there may be OK.

I usually get my hair cut and colored by a hair stylist but, after I decided to go w/​a basic business haircut, I just got my 1^st barbershop haircut in years at «The Barber Shop» today and was very satisfied.
Stopped in despite a couple of bad reviews (2 out of 3 from parents of kids who got their hair cut here) because both Delta and Jose’s around the corner were closed. It was a weekday and there was only one person ahead of me. So, it was a very short wait until I was in the chair.
My barber was Brandon, the owner of the shop. My hair was getting a little shaggy and just asked for a light trim around the sides and back. That’s exactly what I got. Very nicely and professionally done. Razor finish with a short (time wise) shoulder massage thrown in.
The cost at $ 19 (I just gave him $ 20) is a little higher than other barber shops but it’s not so much more as to really matter. It’s definitely a lot less than the $ 60 I’ve paid to get my hair «styled» elsewhere. So, I really have no complaint about the price, especially since I don’t need to get my haircut more than once every 2 – 3 months or so.
Not sure why The Barber Shop has so few reviews (and the relatively high % of complaints from parents), but from my experience I don’t think you’ll have much to worry about getting a good haircut here.

I glanced over the reviews before coming here with my kids and it seemed pretty positive. We’re new to the area so I knew it would be a bit of a shot in the dark. After two horrible haircuts, I came home and checked again thinking I must have missed something. I did, 27 filtered reviews, and the first 6 or so were all 1 star ratings and pretty much spot on. Plus cuts here are pricey for a Barber Shop $ 19 for a kids cut! Which might have been fine if it was a decent cut instead of a hack job!
In summation:
