Guy works the register and touches the food — GROSS!!! Last time we were in there the cook was sick, touching cash and handling food! We left and never came back! The meat started to get very fatty too! As if they just stopped trimming — terrible! Used to be awesome!

Yum! So far I personally think this authentic Mexican food is the best in the area… Then again I have only tried one other place here in Brentwood lol but so far so good. First visit, carnitas soft taco sans beans and the el factory asada burrito. Second visit, carnitas soft taco plus extra cilantro and onions sans beans and a carnitas el factory burrito extra cilantro and onions as well. Yum both times. Being a born and raised East Side San Jose gal, I was in a desperate search for authentic Mexican food that can come close to the east side SJ. Definitely coming back.

This place is a freakn joke Everytime i go in there its an issue. Never fails They are the slowest ever always 15 to 20 min wait no matter if u order 1 taco or 1 burrito Employees are rude! Waited for 20 min for them to tell me they have no chicken which was half of my order… No apology or anything just rude! What a waste of good food place when service is terrible.

I was hearing mixed reviews from the folks that work around there. Had to try it for myself. Green salsa was great. I like the fact they have it readily available there in the dining room for you to pour into a 2oz cup for chips and salsa. Got the El Factory Burrito with carnitas. I’ve had carnitas plenty of times, but what caught my eye was it said deep fried pork. Got it and it was quite tasty. I was hoping for some crispy parts, but I didn’t get any. Burrito seemed pretty good mixed thru and not heavy on one side or the other, like getting a huge bite of just beans. I’d definitely go back. Maybe try a taco or nachos next time. 1 star for a nice small business atmoshphere. 1 star for good tasty food. 1 star for great quality salsa and chips. 1 star for reasonably priced. –1 star for the slight bit of dried beans(?), I think, on the side of my basket. Looks like it was left from the last guy. But I’ll still go back.

Tried this place today and they make their mexican tacos different but you can customize them to be like the real tacos. Good flavor and fast dervice. I would recommend this spot and try it again. One thing about the location is that its small. About 9 tables for 4 people each.

I came with my husband. I ordered 2 tacos d pastor. He ordered 3 d pastor. They have me 2 d Asada. I told the guy I ordered pastor and he has the worse attitude. It’s not my fault the cashier didn’t listen or repeat my order and out of being irritated they told me there wasn’t any more pastor. Worse customer service then they started laughing and talking about me in Spanish. I’m Mexican I speak Spanish. Never coming back. I don’t recommend it. The men who work here a rude! Also it was 9pm when I ordered it on a Saturday night. Why are you running out when you close at 10pm!!!

Had the worst experience at elTaco Factory tonight– got the food to go and when we go home the super taco order had the wrong meat the burrito wasn’t wrapped and fell apart out of the foil and to top it off the the worker was filling bag of chips with his bare hands and handling money. Plus the food was cold. We live over 15 minutes away so to go back and get the right order would have equaled an hour total just to get take out. I’m a loyal elTaco Factory customer, but tonight was horrible. I guess you can dine there without Nacho working!

First off let me start by saying the slogan painted on the wall, «Best burrito in the Bay Area» is completely false. I’m from Oakland and often frequent SF and I can say hands down they have some of thee BEST trucks and restaurants in Nor Cal. Now after reading reviews and of course considering how many stars they had I thought I’d give this place a try. I had been here before many years ago but my mother nor could I remember how the food tasted, so we thought why not! When I first got here lines were a little lengthy but I was okay with that, with such good reviews I expected that. We get up to the cashier and he takes our order. Customer service was okay. My mother and i go to the table right by the door, she stands I sit. After about 5 minutes the guy calls an order and brings the bag to the front and looks directly at my mom, she walks up and ask if this is ours. The same man who took our order states YES, my mom confirming ask again and he says yes ! Now big mistake on my moms end was not checking the food as we usually do. So we leave and get home, everyone is ready to chow down only to find it’s the wrong order!!! So we take the food back(thank god we don’t live to far out) and my mom games the food up to the counter and right away an older gentleman who was no where near when the order was taken or given to my mother immediately says«You took the wrong order.» No let’s try your cashier gave the wrong order! My mom tells him that the same guy who took her order gave her the bag, so how could she possibly«take the wrong order»… He proceeds to argue saying how our number was not called and he seen it, she got up(which my mother never sat down) and came and grabbed the bag. He then states how all this food is wasted and they can’t do anything with it. He tells her to give them 10 minutes and he’d have the food ready. Now my biggest issue here is RULE #1NEVERARGUEWITHYOURCUSTOMERS. I’m confused why he wanted to try and blame the customer for what clearly was his employees mistake. Maybe there should be a better system to identify you’re giving the correct order! Needless to say we get our food and go home. Again we do not live far, less than 10 minutes but when I get home my food was already cold, making me believe it was forsure not FRESH! I was pretty disappointed, rice was bland and the meat was just alright. Now the sauces were actually good, the only reason other than I can’t give 0 stars they even got 1 star. I can definitely say this place will never get my business from the lack of customer service to the mediocre food. I’d almost have better luck at Taco Bell!

I’ve been here 4 separate times, so I think I can comment on this place. — 1 star for: Cold food after a long wait. — 1 star for: Messing up my order after making it clear what I ordered after a long wait. –1 star for: Forgetting the cheese on my burritoes. I would minus another star for friends who come in and get their food specially handed to them on the side(in a poor attempt to be inconspicuous) before other customers get theirs, but hey, I get it. Friends first. Besides having to wait 20 mins for what is essentially higher-quality Mexican fast food, this place has good enough fresh-made tacos and good homemade hot sauces. I would recommend the carne asada over the chicken; which can range from over-seasoned to bland on any given day. People really like it though because the lack of any other halfway decent Mexican food places in the area color their bias. If you go here, be insistent that your order is correct and not lacking ingredients you paid for;, and if after waiting 20 mins, your food is cold, tell them about it.

Solid, pretty good burrito, not over the top. Possibly a 3.5 or 4. I do find myself stopping for a burrito here pretty often. The place is never empty and seems to do pretty good business. The tacos are pretty good too but are a bit different than some other tacos… they are bigger and have beans in them… they are good. They offer two salsa types(red and green) and both are just«ok». I love tasty salsas of many varieties and I sometimes wish the salsas were better here.

Steak super tacos are so good. Salsa and chips are meh but the super tacos are so unique and crunchy and melty makes you not care about the blah chips and salsa.

Pros: Tasty, fresh ingredients, reasonably priced. Fantastic tacos, lovely shrimp burritos. Sentence fragments. Cons: Dirty bathrooms, terrible«chips and salsa» run on sentences. Will go back, food is good enough to tolerate the negatives.

Having moved to the area about 9 months back, I honestly have to say that this is the most consistent restaurant I’ve been to in good and bad ways, thankfully, mostly good. The pros: DELICIOUS asada. Flavorful, juicy and sometimes a little rare in the middle. Just fantastic. Give me their asada in a quesadilla or a taco and I’m a happy camper. Also, their portions are HUGE! 2 tacos will fill you up for sure and their quesadilla homogeneous. Tasty cheese, tasty house sauces(the green is my favorite and not as hot as they say it is). The middle of the road: Their carnitas have good texture, but are largely somewhat flavorless. Definitely missing something. Their al pastor is also middle of the road, even though the quality of the meat seems to be good. Just a miss with the flavoring. Also, this location is a bit pricey, but… you do get what you pay for. Their chicken has good texture, but doesn’t do anything for me. The chicken at La Costa is much tastier. The cons: Their horchata is often watery. Their chips are out of a bag and very bland, so I wouldn’t ever have their nachos because of it. Also, no matter what I eat, expect a HUGE puddle of grease. I know I’m not eating healthy, but this is extremely greasy, even for Mexican food standards. Despite my cons, my mouth is usually very happy whenever I come here and I leave full and content. GREAT asada, huge portions and just stick to what works.

I really debated between 3 and 4 stars. I would like to give them a 3.5. I had a carne asada taco and an al pastor(soft) taco. The meat was excellent. I’m not sure what the complaints are from other Unilocalers. I went on a Monday at dinner time and there was a steady stream of customers so maybe weekday dinner time is a good time to go. It said«Authentic Mexican Food» on the door so I was salivating in anticipation of a certain kind of taco. I got a soft taco but it didn’t come with a wedge of lime, nor the crumbly white cheese on top, nor the pickled carrots/jalepenos. They had squeeze bottles of salsa in ice under a wet towel, which I thought was a brilliant idea to keep it fresh and the flies off :-) There was a TON of the delicious meat and I was sorry I got 2 tacos. I should have gotten only one! I am so stuffed right now. HAHA!!! I kept looking around for wedges of lime but I saw none. I probably should have asked. The lack of lime wedge and the lack of the salty white crumbly cheese, but most especially the lack of lime wedge, put a huge damper on the whole taco experience for me, despite the over-abundance of the most excellent meat. I’m sad that I have to give them a 3 instead of a 4 for the lack of condiments!\. At least there was plenty of fresh cilantro on top. They would have been really good tacos if they were properly dressed. Also, the salsa was not hot and spicy enough for me. The green salsa was supposed to be the spicy one but even after I slathered about ¼ or ½ cup on it, it still was not hot enough for my taste. I think the thing to do is order a burrito. Burritos don’t need the lime and the salty cheese. I may try that next. Also, only when I went home did I realize that there was Fillipino ice cream next door! Well, I was too full anyway… They sell the meat by the pound so I think the thing to really do is to buy the meat and then take it home and make your own tortillas and salsa, and get lime, cheese, chopped onion, cilantro. That would be a great taco!

The food is good. Sometimes. I called my order in at 7:45PM. Arrived and paid at 8PM but I didn’t get my food till 8:25PM. 40 minutes for three burritos! We have eaten here before and I have always loved it but today was not the case. I ordered a steak burrito and my daughter ordered the shrimp burrito, which we have all had before. My daughter is not picky(she’s my human garbage disposal) but she could not finish this burrito. It’s was stuffed with cheese and soggy bell peppers. It completely fell into a blob of mush. She ate it but not all of it. I usually love this place and will come back but idk when cus I’m turned off of burritos now :-/

Happy I have a go-to taco place so close to my new home. What’s even better is that it’s right next door to John’s Ice Cream — so after my meal here, I can just waltz on over for dessert. I’ve been craving tacos for weeks… actually when am I never craving tacos? And El Taco Factory has given me some of the most filling. I ordered one soft carne asada taco with everything and the tortilla was a larger than what I’m used to. I also tried their carne asada nachos ~ i don’t really recommend. The cheese was not melted and the chips were so hard. But the flavor was good. Friendly staff and convenient location. You have yourself a new returning customer!

Me and my boyfriend were craving for Mexican food today, and though we’d try this place out. Everyone recommended La Coasta, but since I’m a Unilocaler and the this place was closer I decided to try this place out. First of all, great service. The person who helped us, probably the manager, was literally the nicest and most patient person ever. We couldn’t decide what we wanted, because it was our first time there, and the manager was like«take your time». Super sweet. Secondly, the food. Oh my gosh, although I only had the two tacos, I was already full. Probably the best pastor tacos I ever had, and a good decent size too. As for the carne asada, it was good, but If I had known there were beans I would’ve said no beans. My boyfriend said his burrito was good, but he too doesn’t like beans, but besides that everything was bomb. Did I mention free chips and salsa? When we were done paying for food he gave us a basket of chips and you could choose your own salsa; which is right next to the cashier. Yum! Thirdly, prices. For what I ordered – 1 Regular Carne Asada burrito, 2 soft tacos, 1 large drink; the total came out to $ 15 something. Not bad I guess, for what we ate, and how we were treated I’m most definitely going back. Looking at my photo from when I took the picture, I feel like eating tacos again. Ugh, *droool. Try it out for yourself, everyone has there opinion, I think you won’t be disappointed :) Hope this review helped!
