WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER! The bar tender was a fucking bitch the whole time. Talking about me and my guests to other employees on the other side of the bar the whole time I was there. I will never give this place my money again. Marilyn the bartender

My mom gave the hostess her name with a party of 5. They said it would be 10 – 15 mins since we didn’t have reservations, which was fine since it was Saturday night. I asked them for a menu so that we can have our orders ready when we get seated. We saw a lot of people get seated before us and just thought«wow, they all had reservations». After over 20 mins of waiting, our little 1yr old wasn’t the only one getting angsty. I checked on our table and the hostess said that they didn’t have my moms name and gave me an attitude. First of all, do you really think we’re that dumb to wait for 20 mins and not give our name? And second, Don’t argue with the customer especially when it’s your fault. After expressing my frustrations, they seated us right away. We ordered right away and our appetizers came 30 mins later. Then I get my entrée, I ordered a medium prime rib and got it well done. Sent it back and got my food after everyone in my table was already done eating. Bottom line: we could’ve spent our money elsewhere. We just wasted our time in this place.

Ate dinner in the bar. Very slow and little attention from our waitress for drinks, etc… If you want good steak go to Caps or Vic Stewarts. The extra cost is evident in costumer service!

I will admit that I am rather hard on grading a restaurant on service and food this is going to be for service. Service at this restaurant was absolutely atrocious order was taken later didn’t arrive with appetizers for at least 25 – 30 minutes drinks were served that have gone Spilled Out of the glass not cold left alcohol lacked flavor never did he wants asked us if we would like something else or if we like their drinks or anything now let’s talk about dinner finally arriving when dinner finally arrived the filet mignon which was supposed to weigh 6 ounces apparently they weigh their meat before it’s cooked and it probably goes down to about half the size so imagine a 3 ounce filet it’s very small like the size of a silver dollar when we asked about it we were brushed off pepper shaker when used spilled over my brother-in-law’s entire plate they replaced his potato as they also took his fork with his plate never to ask him or help him to replace his Fork again we had to pretty much wait on ourselves and go to another table to get utensils that’s when I finally flag down the manager to let her know there seems to be a problem or drinks were not good our food was mediocre service at this restaurant I have to get rate service is a 1 at best. Manager then asked us would we like to be comped desserts being nice and trying to be fair thinking this was an off night we ordered one dessert with four Forks in which we were actually charged for our dessert they couldn’t even get that part right now coincidentally you’re not my sister-in-law went back the next day because she had a lunch date there I would have to advise you all that she said service the next day was even worse which I find hard to believe so Black Angus you came to Brentwood and I don’t think you’re going to be busy for very long. Food was Bland. Seemed even cooks could care less. Mildly warm food. Watered down drinks, not chilled. Even Management couldn’t get it right with a single comp dessert.(Sry about running sentences) this was posted by voice.

Will not return. Made reservations for 630 pm. Empty tables visible yet seated at 640 pm. 642 pm — ordered 710 pm — informed appetizers went to wrong table 715 pm — asked for additional bread as we are waiting for appetizers but was told they ran out of bread 726 pm — main course and appetizers arrive — a full 44 minutes after ordering. Prime rib was not rare but I didn’t care at the moment. This is not Morton’s or Ruth Chris. I don’t expect awesome steak. I do expect quick food. Our waiter was accommodating and apologetic. I wish I could remember his name but I was so angry I could’ve cared less about anyone that worked there.

Came because of coupons, likely not coming back for a LONGLONG time, if ever. Had a reservation and it took them 15 minutes to seat us even though we saw many empty tables. Ordered as soon as we sat down and 30 minutes later, still waiting. Turns out our wagon sampler got delivered to another table. We had also asked for more bread and it took another 20 minutes and we asked again and were informed they were out of bread and it would be 30 minutes. Then we got bread less than 5 minutes later. Wagon sampler came out and 2 minutes later our entrees arrive but the server decides to serve them to the table next to us before coming to our table. Server was really nice but obviously there’s no quality control. For a mediocre steak restaurant, this is not the way to draw customers in. We thought it would be nice to try someplace different but this was obviously a bad choice. Wagon sampler was ok, not worth the extra $ 3. Chicken and ribs were good portion but BF’s 8 oz prime rib was pretty sad looking and appeared to have been sprayed or colored with red to make it look extra rare.

My fiancé and I managed to have an afternoon without the kiddos and decided to grab some lunch at Black Angus. We were greeted right away and sat at a booth on the left side of the restaurant. The restaurant was for the most part was empty and the waitress introduced herself immediately. That’s pretty much the where great afternoon stopped. After we ordered our food we didn’t see much of the waitress since she seemed busy helping the few other tables. A little while later our food was brought to the table and unfortunately our food was very bland and dry. My fiancé and I were extremely disappointed! The thought of spending $ 23 on a boring and bland steak was difficult. Shortly thereafter we left and vowed not to come back. It’s really too bad since this used to be a goof chain, but now we know.

Great staff, cozy atmosphere, good steak for the price. Sucks to give 2 stars because this was our place to go for a rare juicy prime rib. For some reason the last two months the steaks have been overcooked, not like we always used to get them. Last order we got the wrong beer and wrong steak meat, but my main issue is the overcooked steak both times.

Went with my wife. took 15 minutes for a server to come to our table. 26 minutes to bring our drinks. 40 minutes for them to take our order 47 minutes to get a refill. 55 to get our salads. 72 minutes to get our meals. So at the end of this ordeal I wasted 96 mnutws of my life on a meal that I did not enjoy. Will not go back because our server put a finger in her nose probably with out thinking.

I think this place is pretty worth it during lunch if you have a coupon. My family and I were able to get almost anything(with a drink beverage purchase, of course) for $ 8.99. My whole family got the filet and usually like to have our meat cooked at a medium-rare temperature. The meal came with two sides also. It’s definitely not the best food in town, but hey, it works. Recommend coming here only if you have some sort of promotional offer.

I am not sure if the staff is a bunch of newbies or just plain incompetent but, what a terrible experience we had dining here. The hostess that greeted us at the door said that if you dine at the bar or outdoors, the drinks and appetizers are half price. Not so. Long story short, lousy service, steak not cooked to order so second one cooked, appetizers didn’t all come early enough to be eaten before meal came, bill came charging us for incorrectly cooked steak, 10 minutes before server returns for us to point out that we were being charged for one too many meals. Food not the same as what we have had at a different Black Angus before. Will not return here ever again.

Pretty disappointed. Came here and it was 90 minutes before closing and they were vacuuming right next to our table. I’m pregnant and I’m more sensitive to smell right now and I found the dust from the vacuum to be really nauseating. And why couldn’t they have waited until closer to closing? It was gross. We weren’t even adjacent to the kitchen but we could hear the music they were blasting so loud that it clashed with the actual music and just sounded like a headache. Clearly management was probably gone for the evening. Our steak was way undercooked from what we ordered(I ordered medium well and it came rare) and lobster was two totally different sizes. They also forgot some of the sauce with my husbands steak. They made my sides inconsistently with how they were made the time before and it just wasn’t worth the $ 140 it cost in my opinion. I expect better from them being one of the nicer places to eat in town. Ugh and that damn vacuuming makes me want to barf. I’ve worked customer service, I understand the struggle of working Saturday night but it wasn’t really closing time yet and it ruined the ambiance for us. And it was dusty and gross. Blech.

Came in to use my 2 bonus bucks which were worth $ 10 each. Management wouldn’t allow me to use the other one for no logical reason at all. Our waiter who was great was just following instructions but didn’t make an attempt to explain why. Makes me angry to know that the company would give out promotional certificates and not allow people to use them for no apparent reason. Other than that I had a salad with grilled salmon. It was ok; too much dressing and the salmon was undercooked. In the future the management should at least attempt to understand their coupons and abide by them. Because no where does it say you can only use one because the other item ordered was a happy hour item. What they should have done was deduct the total amount of $ 20 minus the happy hr item. Lazy people who don’t even try to think logically. Ridiculous!

First thing I have to say is that the customer service is amazing here, on Father’s day we had a bad experience and the manager came up to us and corrected the situation. When we came back in he recognized us and apologized again which was amazing! Anyways to continue… They have happy hour all day on Tuesday and Sunday and that alone is an amazing special they have. My husband and I came in on a Tuesday to enjoy a nice dinner for a celebration. For appetizers we ordered the buffalo wings and the potato skins. The wings were delicious and I wished the put a bigger portion of the sour cream that goes with it. For drinks we followed with a mango/strawberry margarita and a mai tai. Which were both very tasty. We then order the summer platter which was a large plate of food and was good, the ribs however weren’t that great but the steak and shrimp was quiet tasty and the corn was to die for. It sucks that the corn is a seasonally item but I will make sure to order it before it goes :)

This comment is based on my visit to Black Angus in Pleasant Hill, CA. The food is good(based on my taste preferences)! Service on the other hand is dismal. Our server was in such a hurry that he would ask me a question like«would you like more water?» then return in about five minutes and ask me the same question without having refilled my glass the first time around(This is just one example on a few things he forgot. He also forgot to give me more bread and the bill when I asked for it twice). Further, he spilled water as he finally refilled my glass — no apology for that! We also waited almost 10 minutes before he even came up to our table. No apologies for that either. I like BA, so I’ll come back but perhaps to a different restaurant(Brentwood, CA where we had a much more pleasant experience). Note: It wasn’t very busy. It was just a typical Wednesday evening.

I am writing this updated review for one reason only; to praise a server at Black Angus that is dutifully due an honorable mention. I should also state this is a precursor to the letter I am submitting to their corporate office. I wrote review in March 2014 and my feelings have not changed much about this restaurant. My fiancée and I have maybe been here 5 times since my initial review. They truly never disappoint; poor service, lazy attitude and inability to deliver an order that is as ordered. We have had the same manager at our table twice. He’s never apologetic. It’s more the approach of what is wrong? Ok, then an excuse or let me talk to the kitchen. Once we had a server on the patio who spent more time with her boyfriend than taking care of the two tables she had. Only two mind you. The most irritating part is the manager had to walk past her and her boyfriend sitting at a patio table to come to our table to address the nachos that came out wrong. Really? If that is the environment you foster no wonder we have the feelings towards your inability to do the right thing. With all this said, the last two times we have been to this restaurant including today we have had the same server; Priscilla. Wow! She’s a five star, customer service, «I am going to get it right» server. She’s so attentive. She frequents the table enough that you know she’s watching, no matter how busy her section is. If you need something she is there. She’s pleasant, capable and focused. I am not sure how you have one server who truly gets it but someone clone her! Customer service is truly the core of what a server does. It’s alarming when a server can excel at her job but management cannot. As a CEO myself, I value those who excel at their jobs. She truly goes above and beyond. I am not sure what their training program is like but something tells me that she could teach the other team members a lesson or two. If you want an enjoyable dining experience, you want Priscilla waiting on you. Black Angus Management take note she’s not a 5 star but a GOLD star employee!

Went there for GAME3 of the NBA finals. You should go on Tuesdays where they have happy hour all day. The Bar is very nice and very large. That was the pleasant surprise of the night. Oh and the happy hour prices. Otherwise food is terrible. I had the loaded potatoes, barely any bacon, some cheese not good. their steak quesadilla not good at all. I would totally skip it. It was a combination of a small amount of «steak,» cheese, and onions/bell pepper. The bad thing was there were so much onions or veggies that it made the quesadilla runny with veggie juices. I’d rather have it runny with cheese. We also had wings and those were really small. Thank goodness it was happy hour Tuesday. Again, the bar was great and so was the staff. But the food was no bueno.

When my dad and I decided to come here to eat after watching a movie, we were not too excited as previous visits left us with unhappy stomachs since the food didn’t have much flavor. My dad had a 30% coupon for being a member, so we just made a decision to give this particular Black Angus another try. When I unwrapped my napkin with the utensils, I looked at my fork and it was my washed well at all. It had a dried piece of red lettuce stuck on it. I prompt told our server, Masha, and she horrified and was very apologetic about it. I appreciated how quick she was to exchange the fork. Although this makes me slightly hesitant on how the kitchen staff or machine washes the dishes… Apparently from previous reviews, this isn’t the first incident, so to the business: please do something about this. It’s rather disturbing to see dried food on supposedly«clean» utensils. It does make the customer question how clean your dishes really are… Masha was very attentive. Typically at restaurant we go to, servers are a little slow at refilling my dad’s soda, but she was very observant and anytime my dad’s drink was almost finished, she’d already bring out another for him. The complimentary bread is delicious. It has a nice slightly sweet taste and the oats on top gave it a very nice texture and a slight crunch. I didn’t know that we could have more bread, so when Masha asked, we of course asked for another small loaf. My dad ordered the High Noon Feast that came with a beverage, 2 Classic Sidekicks, and 2 cookies. Out of the High Noon Feast, he ordered the Slow Roasted Prime Rib: Seasoned with savory herbs and spices. Served with a rich au jus($ 17.99). For the 2 sidekicks, he chose the Garden Salad and Onion Rings. I ordered the Steakhouse Bacon Cheeseburger: Half-pound burger stacked high with bacon, sharp Cheddar cheese, and onion rings and I chose French fries as a side($ 11.50). My dad and I both agree that this Black Angus has really improved on their food’s taste. It used to be quite bland, but now it has more taste to it. Compliments to Chef Martin Corro and the rest of the staff! Overall, I’m happier with this visit from our very friendly server to the quality of the food. So happy they’ve improved their business at this location. I rated this a 4⁄5 stars for their improvement and service; however, I would’ve liked to make it a 3.5÷5 stars because of the questionable cleanliness of the utensils and dishes(plates, bowls, etc. Not meaning actual food). Since I left on a enjoyable note, I just kept the rating at 4⁄5 instead of a 3⁄5 stars. Total: $ 21.50(we also had a 30% coupon as part of their membership).

Straight down the middle of the road. When we arrived, there were a few people standing in the waiting area but it wasn’t packed. We were quoted 35 minutes for a table. We stood around and waited 35 minutes, only to see everyone around us including people that arrived after us get seated. Staring at 2 empty tables, we asked how much longer it would be. The hostess said another 10 minutes. So, we should have been quoted 45 minutes to an hour. I get that they take reservations, but they need to be more accurate on their wait times for walk-ins. We were finally seated and our waitress apologized that she wouldn’t be able to see to us for awhile. We saw her twice and were offered two exclamations of, «I’ll be right back». It clearly wasn’t her fault, she had too many tables. She did drop off some waters and I was grateful for that. Once she was able to wait on us, the service was great. All the food and drinks came out quickly. I only saw one wine I would be interested in on the menu, the Hess Chardonnay. I wasn’t in the mood for white wine. So, I ordered a Mai tai. For $ 8, this bad boy was huge. It was a bit sweet for my taste but drinkable. We all shared the wagon wheel sampler. The shrimp was fresh, the zucchini was cooked perfectly, my friend seemed to enjoy the skins, and although the buffalo wings were not spicy, they were pretty tasty. My husband ordered the filet mignon Cobb salad and ate every bite. The large chunks of bacon were plentiful and the lettuce was crisp. The filet mignon was a bit overcooked but still had some chew. My 16 oz. New York strip was ordered medium but arrived medium rare. I had planned to take some of it home to my daughter to re-heat, so I just cut off the fat and ate a few bites of the more accurately cooked edge. The seasoning was simple. I was a bit underwhelmed overall. It tasted more like a sirloin to me. My baked potato was cooked perfectly, albeit a bit small. I ordered the fries for my kiddo and she said they were just alright. At $ 70 for 2 plates of food and 2 drinks, the experience didn’t line up with the price tag. I will come back but it will probably only be for the happy hour.
