Food was great, service was great, atmosphere was awesome! Was here for an Audi Club Lonestar event and was very pleased with the overall outcome of our event! Will plan to be back again soon!

This place is adorable and delicious! My husband surprised me and flew me here from West Houston airport! We were very hungry once we landed but luckily, this cute diner was right on the runway! We walked in and I felt like I was in the 1950s! All the ladies wear poodle skirts and they blast vintage music over the jukebox. My type of place! We both had a cheeseburger(very tasty) and shared the fried pickles(also tasty!). Can’t wait to come back for lunch again sometime! Oh and also try the strawberry malt, the best part!

Great little diner stop. Last time here was about 6years ago. Still great food. My wife and I shared fried pickle spears, which were very tasty. By looking at them, it might appear the grease is not fresh. Nonetheless, the pickle hide any greasy taste. Not the same for my wife’s onion rings she had with her burger. The grease came through on those very strong, hence the dark color on the pickle spears. Her burger was great! Very large handmade patty with good color to the lettuce and tomato. I had the hamburger steak smothered with 1015 grilled onions with homemade mashed potatoes, both covered with brown gray. The taste was awesome! The dinner roll was fresh as well. We shared a slice of homemade coconut cream pie, which was great. With the one exception to the onion rings, I would have scored a 5. Changing the grease or getting it hotter will solve this problem. Oh yes, the waitress’ are amazingly nice, friendly and most helpful. We’ll go here again!

After a football game today, some of us coaches and our families headed to this restaurant. The food was ok, the service was great, and the place was neat. Think Johnny Rockets meets Mel’s Diner at a small municipal airport. The real downer was the owner/manager that hovered over us like a Sikorsky waiting for one of the kids to break something. Everywhere you look there’s signage indicating kids aren’t necessarily welcome. There’s a kids menu but I can’t figure out why. Once, a couple of the kids got within a few feet of the jukebox and here comes Mr Grumpy, fast as a PC-12, to put an end to all the shenanigans, even as it was being addressed by the parents. The good news is that none of the kids were made to feel unwelcome. That being said, we will not return, nor suggest it to friends traveling to or through Brenham.

If your passing through the area and need some fresh diner food this is your place ! Hubby had the hamburger and he says best one he’s had in a very long time. Fresh NOT frozen and so thick he had trouble finishing it. I always favor the veggie plates myself and they represented well. Good country cooking. Squash casserole, stewed okra and tomatoes mashed potato veggie heaven. The peach cobbler had wonderful flavor, unfortunately the crust was thin and undercooked so it wasn’t perfect. Overall I wouldn’t fly in just to eat here but if I’m passing thru it’s worth a visit.

We enjoy going to the antique rose emporium down the street and typically go here for lunch. It is a fun place to stop and get some good diner food. Many people fly in to grab a bite and then fly out.

I LOVETHISPLACE. The food is great, the service is awesome, and the setting is so unique. Love hanging out here and seeing all the planes coming and going like cars in a parking lot.

Food here is classic diner food and everything I have had has been excellent. The service is quick especially considering how busy they get. My favorite is the cheeseburger or chicken fried steak and brownie sundae!

We stopped here after getting my daughter from camp. The place is right by the airport and you can see planes landing and taking off. Great food — fries, chicken fried steak, catfish. We will definitely come back!

Been flying here for many years! Something’s to be said about a restaurant that people fly to from all over yet a lot of locals dine too. 50s theme, great service, very reasonable prices! Will always come back

Great place to eat. The food was good and the service was very attentive. Had a hamburger with bacon and a side of onion rings. I really liked how the bacon was chopped up and spread all over the burger.

Took a ride up to this place with my motorcycle club one Saturday morning. It sits right off of the small airport runway and it’s so cool to watch the plane takeoff and land. My little group got seated out on the screened in patio out back, overlooking a lake and the end of the runway where the planes take off. The ladies are all dolled up in their ’50’s poodle skirts and letter shirts. The staff is welcoming and nice, even when dealing with 30+ sweaty, leather wearing biker types. Menu is jam packed with diner delights and it was hard for me to choose. I was going to order something light, but didn’t want to be a wuss in front of the 6’5 foot biker sitting next to me, so I followed in his footsteps and order a cheeseburger, with lots of fries, and a chocolate milkshake. Grrr! LOL It didn’t take long for the meals to start hitting the tables(luckily we called ahead) and the burgers were thick, juicy, and tasty. The fries seemed to be endless and we were told that they usually cook a huge batch and didn’t want them to go to waste. Good for us! The cherry on top were the shakes. The four guys at my table each had a tall silver cup sitting in front of them, along with a long stemmed spoon to enjoy this throwback delight. I was on cloud 9 and just wanted to fall sleep right there in that chair.

I loved the feel of this place. It was quite off the beaten path for sure. It took us awhile to locate it. I am all about from the moment you walk in to wait to be sat to the experience and food to when you leave. Before ordering the place seriously looked like we stepped into the poodle skirt era and car hop time. I LOVEDIT! Waitress was super nice and patient with us. This place is known for their hundred dollar burger. Nothing special, just that it’s bigger than an average burger. You can tell it is cooked fresh. You can add toppings. Nothing too out of the ordinary. I felt like I was too hyped for this place and the food fell short of expectations. I think that this is a great place to take someone who would enjoy the atmosphere and enjoy a simple homemade burger.

Very cool place to visit and have lunch! Get the hamburgers! I had a fabulous hand packed patty with bacon on top. The buns were moist and had a hint of butter on it probably from a light baste on the griddle. the kids had chicken strips that were fabulous. There were hand cut strips cooked in their own batter, you an tell it wasn’t a frozen run of the mill chickens strip. The Beer was ice cold and the service was friendly and attentive. Will visit again! We had a great time watching planes drop in and take off!

What a cool place to «fly» by for a bite to eat. My brother-in-law let us tag along on a test flight and decided to bring us here for lunch. I love the waitresses’ poodle skirts! We started off with the chili cheese fries — the fries were the perfect crispiness and saltiness, the chili seemed like it was from a can and the cheese seemed very«cheese whizzy» — we still enjoyed every bite of it! I ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich with onion rings — the chicken fried steak was freshly made, well seasoned, crispy on the outside and juicy-beefy on the inside — I asked for jalapeños and was delightfully surprised that they topped my sandwich with grilled ones instead of the usual pickled ones. The onion rings were delicious — lightly battered so you can actually taste the onion. If I’m ever in Brenham, I’ll definitely have to stop by here for the great atmosphere and maybe a milkshake this time.

A great place to fly into for the proverbial $ 100 hamburger. As far as airport diners stack up(and as a pilot, I’ve been to a lot!), this one meets or exceeds all the requirements for a good weekend excursion. Burgers. Check. Fried appetizers. Check. Milkshakes. Check. Good view of the airplanes. Check. Service was very friendly, get there right at opening or you’ll be waiting in line.

Anytime I had a friend who wanted me to take them flying I would inevitably take them to the Southern Flyer Diner at Brenham Municipal Airport. One of the best fly-in’s in the country. Beautifully situated amidst cow pastures, well maintained facilities, plenty of tie-downs, and good food. The diner has a 50’s motif complete with on table juke box selectors, waitresses in poodle skirts, and an aircraft service golf cart fashioned after a Chevy Bel Air. The pilot lounge is comfortable with a side room available to catch some zzzz’s. I highly recommend stopping by anytime you are flying close to Houston, Austin, or San Antonio.

The Southern Flyer Diner at the Brenham airport is hard to find but worth the hunt. I’d give this place 4 stars even if it was in downtown Houston! No grade inflation here! We headed here for Sunday lunch before we went to a birthday party in Brenham. It is a bit hidden. When you get to the airport, there is no sign to tell you that you’ve made it to the café. When you walk in, expect to wait at regular meal times; it is quite the popular place. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, good thing the outdoor seating is all screened in. The waitresses wear poodle skirts and are as friendly as they must have been in the 50’s. The service is super fast and the food was delicious! My chicken sandwich was very very good. My husband loved his Monterrey chicken sandwich. The french fries were so-so and the onion rings were pretty good. The apple crumble is definitely delicious and make sure to get it topped by a big scoop of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream. They also serve fountain Pepsi and canned Diet Coke. People all around us were eating burgers. The people at the table next to us said they fly there from The Woodlands in their little plane just for the burgers. Seriously. So, you know if must be good. If you are in Brenham, this place is definitely worth a stop! I hear their shakes are Wonderful. We’ll be having one next time! and yes, there will most definitely be a next time.
