I just wanted to update my review. I have now gone through the claims process. They are paying .60 per lbs because I didn’t get the extra insurance. ALWAYS get the extra insurance is the lesson here. They didn’t install the bolts necessary for the safe movement of my washing machine. Despite the fact that they were provided for them. In fact they had to move them off the washing machine to move it. They then dropped it down a flight of stairs and tried to cover it up by moping up the spilled water with my coat and attempting to hide the damage when they installed them in the new house. I foolishly thought that they would do the right thing and have a technician come out to service my machine but they told me they will only pay the $.60 per lb which doesn’t come close to covering the damage. I don’t even care about the cosmetic damage to my machine. I understand that they are a business trying to make money but if they had just used the proper amount of caution my machine would still be functioning. I am disappointed with this company. I think asking them to have someone service my machine is very reasonable. They didn’t agree. You have a choice in who does your move. I recommend picking a different company.

We just moved cross country with Lile North American and had a wonderful experience from day one! They return calls immediately, answer questions thoroughly so there are no worries and explain the whole process. We thought that their prices were competitive but we were looking for good service first. We did not want our belongings shuttled or moved more than once. The driver was on time and very polite as was his team. Nothing was lost or damaged that we can tell. We are very happy and would recommend this company to everyone.

I love this company. I have moved a lot…15 times in the last 23 years to be exact and have worked with a lot of moving companies. I have to say this one is at the top of my list. I had a large move out of my home and into long-term storage. There were some large difficult pieces to crate and move. A year later I had to come back to Lile and ask for about half my items out of storage for an inter-state move. They were great about accommodating my request and gave me the same crew who packed me to help me go through the vaults, selecting what I wanted, and re-weighing everything to get an exact weight. They also worked very closely with another North American Van Lines agent on the receiving end to make sure everything went smoothly at the final destination. Many thanks to Jim Lindekugel and the crew at Lile. You can rest assured that I will definitely use Lile when I move again.

I interviewed numerous movers, but chose North American because I liked the agent(Jim), and they had glowing letters of recommendation. What I failed to consider is that in a long-distance move(Seattle to Boston), the agent you hire is not the only agent you work with. When I signed the estimate, I was promised 75 free used moving boxes. I got boxes, but they were neither used nor free. Of course, I didn’t notice this until months afterwards, when I had no way to get back the $ 294 I was charged for the boxes(which I could’ve bought cheaper at Home Depot). My furniture was picked up first to go to storage, and then again when we moved out of the house(also to storage until we had a house to move to). When we finally had a house, I contacted Lile to let them know we were almost ready. Through miscommunication(for which I am likely equally to blame), Lile started loading my stuff when I had not yet closed on the house. I was charged an additional $ 350 for the labor associated with this screw-up. Finally, it was move-in day. The driver called me the night before and told me to be ready by 8am. I was grateful for the early start since it was snowing again, and it was tough keeping the sidewalks clear. The moving crew did not show up until after 10am. I was instructed to be in the downstairs front entryway to tell the movers where things should go(we were moving in to a 2-family house, so some things went into each apartment). During the almost 4 hours the movers were there, I was inside only once — when my husband told me my wedding ring was gone from where I’d left it that morning. I looked for it, and had the movers stop working and look for it, but it was not found. I called Lile and the local police immediately. Because of the snowstorm, the police would not be able to come and take a report for several hours, and they told me they wouldn’t search the movers anyway, so I had to let them go. Lile agents spoke to the driver, but agreed that I had to let them all go. I spent the next few weeks talking to Lile and North American about my ring. I was then told North American would have to refer me to their insurance processing agency, Xchanging. From February 8th(the day I moved in), until May 23rd, I had to persistently chase them down — I received almost no communication regarding my claim. Until they denied it. It seems that movers are only responsible for theft if they knowingly hire criminals, but if an employee turns criminal while under their employ, that’s just too bad for the customer. Lile employees were not especially helpful when it came to staying on top of my claim, or communicating with me. At no point did a Lile employee contact me regarding the claims process unless I emailed/called them for follow-up first. They were very sweet until I cut the check, and then it felt like they didn’t know me. For the $ 12K I spent with them, I would expect better treatment. Now all I have to show for it is numerous damaged pieces of furniture, a series of migraines, and no wedding ring. I could not possibly be more disappointed.
